Sometimes the biggest risk is playing it safe.
Gen Richards is tired of living down to her family’s expectation of the helpless blind girl. Resurrecting her high-school bucket list that begins with “kiss a total stranger” seems just the thing until she finds herself in a panty-melting lip lock with her big brother’s best friend.
Chance Anderson thrives on adrenaline, but Genny’s the one risk … Genny’s the one risk he’s not willing to take. His recklessness a decade ago landed her in the hospital and ejected him from her life. He’s bad for her and everyone knows it—especially her big brother.
Chance reluctantly helps Gen complete her bucket list in order to keep her out of trouble. Running through a freezing fountain, playing spin the bottle while fending off a mad horde of stinging insects, and skinny dipping with homicidal attack swans don’t hold a candle to the real danger: falling for the one person he can never have.

“4 out of 5 stars. About ten years ago, a stupid mistake landed Gen (Genny/Genevieve) into the hospital and forced her best friend away from her. Now, she seems to finally be moving on with her life and after a surprising accident that led to a co-worker dying, Gen wants to complete the bucket list that she created when she was fifteen. Yet, the same day that she pushes forth with moving on who happens to waltz back into her life? Why her old best friend and crush, Chance, of course! Will she be able to prove to him once-and-for-all what a bad decision he made way-back-when or will he show her that what happened ten years ago isn’t what it actually seemed? Stay tuned!
This novel! Oh this novel! I LOVED it but wasn’t a total fan of how it ended. I mean don’t get me wrong I’m not …”

Short review. This is definitely in my top ten brother’s best friend love story, Chance is the ideal book boyfriend, as soon as I finished it I was to re-read it. I really like both Gen and Chance, they deeply cared and love each other. Gen who has been blind since birth has been trying to to show her parents and brother that despite her blindness she can take of herself and doesn’t need them treating her like a child. Enter Chance who was her and her brother’s childhood friend, he’s always supported Gen independence to prove that she’s more than a blind girl. You absolutely fall in love with Chance and root for him and Gen to get their happily ever after.
4 “What do you see?” Stars. This the third book in the Anderson Brothers series. What fun it was! Chance of a Lifetime is quick, sweet, and pure fun. It’s pretty much a perfect beach read. If you’re looking for pure entertainment with a side of sweetness, pick it up!
Chance is the youngest of the Anderson brothers and by far the most intriguing. As the youngest, he’s watched his older brothers closely and learned a lot from them. As is the case with the youngest sibling, all that watching and learning has given him insights to life. Throughout the story, he shows just how deep those insights are. Gen, being blind, has had to learn to trust her instincts and navigate the world through her other senses. This has given her far more understanding than most sighted people. Unfortunately, her family only sees her as handicapped. Chance has always seen her as more.
This is definitely my favorite out of the Anderson Brothers series. You don’t have to read them in order. Each book is its own story. It may help you to know the backgrounds of the other characters, but it won’t really take away from the story if you don’t have that information. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this entire series!
Gen Richards is ready to spread her wings and fly, and find some reprieve from her overbearing family. While their need to protect her is meant with the best of intentions, it’s often felt as if they are trying to smother her. She doesn’t want the fact that she is blind to hinder her from tackling her high school bucket list, she knows there are some of the things she can do on her own, but she also has a plan to find a friend to help her out. One of the first items at the top of her list is kissing a stranger, to which she is looking quite forward to, that is until she discovers that the “stranger” turns out to be the one man to leave her when she needed him the most…
Chance Anderson tends to like to walk on the wild side from time to time, and is not one known to shy away from risks, which has earned him the title of being dangerous and reckless more times than he cares to count. One would also think that this well earned reputation also makes him the perfect candidate to help someone tap into their wild side, and cross a few risky adventures off of their bucket list. But the only problem is the person asking for his help just happens to be the one risk he’s never been brave enough to take…
This was my first experience with Ms. Clarke’s work and I must admit that it left a very good first impression. I found her writing to be very easy to submerse myself into and it helped to provide me with a very enjoyable literary escape from reality. Gen and Chance’s story captured my attention right from the start and held on tight until the very end. I have not read the other installments in the series, but plan to remedy that very soon! I think it’s safe to say that Ms. Clarke has earned herself a spot on my go to authors list with this very impressive first read!
Highly recommend you add this one to your reading list, it’s sure to leave you with a happy heart!!
