He’s her patient. She’s his doctor. They shouldn’t. But God, do they want to. Camden Harris, the famously hot, hulk of a footballer is laid up in a London hospital. But his busted knee doesn’t stop him from running his well-practiced game on Indie Porter—his redheaded spitfire of a doctor. She’s not his type, not even close. But she could be the perfect distraction from the soul-crushing damage … soul-crushing damage this injury could cost him.
Indie’s tired of her naivety putting a target on her back. As a gifted child, she’s let her education take the front seat her whole life. But a fling with a footballer like Camden might be just what she needs to grab life by the balls.
And he could be the perfect guy for the plan she’s been sitting on for over two years.
But when feelings make a final play, there’s no amount of medicine that can heal the damage to their hearts.

OK I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH! I can’t wait to read more in the series!!!
Camden and Specs (Indie) meet when he comes into the emergency room as he plays football, and was injured.
She’s risking her whole career for him, and he talks her into staying the night with him, twice, in his VIP room at the hospital. She knows that if she gets caught her whole career is over. O.V.E.R.
Cam is drawn to Indie, and he’s not even sure why. He thinks it’s just gonna be about the sex, but boy is he wrong, as Indie has a Penis List, and he’s #1 on there, he can’t be #2 and #3, can he?
Cam and his brothers are known wherever they go, and is Indie using Cam to get ahead in her career, looks like it. But is it really?
Cam decides he doesn’t want the 2nd surgery, cause he’s realised there’s more to life than FOOTBALL FOOTBALL FOOTBALL. But can he get Indie to see his side, and stop ignoring him?
Does he get his spot on Arsenal? Does his dad come around? What happens with Indies bestie?
I loved the storyline, the writing, the plot, the twists, just everything!!!
Thou Art Mine
This book had me hooked from the first hot scene in the shower. And then it kept towing me along helplessly with Cam’s sweet humorous puns, and Indie’s bewilderment at trying to juggle romance and career. But it was the big hearted writing that kept me from putting the book down, every word hitting that sweet spot of emotion. I found some unexpected characterizations that made this book refreshing, and the family made, born, and found was amazing. I have a new girl crush, and her name is Amy Daws.
This was my first foray into Amy Dawes and I was quite pleased. I’ve moved on to the rest of the series and love them all.
Audio review from December 2018
Most audio books start off a shade slow but this book (and all of them) are talked about so much in her reader group on Facebook that I felt that I KNEW these characters going in and the book fit like a glove going in.
The story itself is beautifully written.
Cam and Indie are so stinking cute as individuals and then as a couple they are snappily adorable!
And I totally called the next coupling from the first surgery day lol onto to Tanners story!!
Indie & Camden are . They will keep you on your toes and you won’t want their story to end. There were SO MANY feels rolling off these pages. I had highs, lows, laughter, tears, rejoicing, cringing, love and disgust. I even wanted to punch a few people while reading/listening to this book. This was a beautifully written and heartwarming story until it wasn’t…and I wanted to scream at the author! Thankfully all works out in the end to give us that amazing HEA but DAMN!! I alternated between reading & listening to this book via Whispersync. Charlotte Cole and Will Watt are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality. They do more than giving their characters their voices, they fall into the roles and become the character.
This was such a fun, funny and super steamy book. Amy Daws has given us a perfect story. I love, love, love Camden and Indie. They had me laughing and yearning and fanning myself. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.
And I adored the narration Charlotte Cole gave such a natural, witty and sweet performance as Indie. Will Watt was both charming and hilarious as not just Camden, but all the brothers. And even though I detested the character, Michael Foster hit it out of the park with his performance as Prichard. He was the perfect smarmy douche canoe.
There’s so MUSHROOM in my heart for this book. It was a great way to KICK off the series. (Pun intended)
Cam Harris is a star footballer who was severely injured on the pitch. He’s taken to the hospital where it’s determined he needs surgery on his knee. Indie Porter is a wunderkind resident doctor and is tapped to do the surgery. Cam takes one look at her and is definitely interested, but Indie can’t believe that a gorgeous and famous footballer would want anything to do with her. He tries to get close and she pushes away, but she has a situation that needs to be rectified. She needs someone to take her virginity and she’s developed a method for finding that man. I could not stop laughing and, along with her best friend, Indie is a treat! The draw between Cam and Indie is too intense to ignore, but it also brings some fallout that neither one intended. With jealous colleagues and a father who seemingly only cares about sports, they have to overcome some obstacles on their way to their HEA. A very cute story with well-written characters and I couldn’t help but adore Cam’s entire family. The narration is tremendous and the accents are perfect. Will M. Watt, Charlotte Cole and Martin Foster brought this story to life!
Such a great sports romance set in the UK. I loved the friendship between Indie and Belle! Tequila Sunrise Forever
Indie and Cam
Great read with unforgettable characters. Very original and witty. The puns are a clever idea. If you like this story at all, give Blindsided by the same author a try. Hard to believe but it is even better.
This story rocked. I live the Harris family when I started in Vi’s story. Camden is the playboy footballer, and Indie “specs” is one of his surgeons when he gets injured during a game. He is instantly drawn to her right from the moment they meet. I live how they grow throughout the story and she learns about emotional connections she was denied as a kid both being super smart and advancing in grades and from her parents and family. Hated it but it was pertinent to the story how horrible she is to Cam. It’s awesome when she comes to the “penis three” realization. Can’t wait for next book.
This is my second time through the Harris brother’s series and I am still in Love with Amy Daws and in Love With the Harris Family!!! You’ll love this book and you’ll become addicted to these characters.
Amy does a great job giving complex and layered characters and is able to weave their story through the series. The Harris brothers are so complicated and still the family is able to be dysfunctionally functional.
Read this book, and get lost in a great series. You’ll be so glad you did.
I fell in love with Amy’s style when I read Wait With Me. For some reason I never went back to read more! Recently, I started going back through my unread kindle books. I had one of the books in this series so of course I had to start from the beginning! Challenge was the first book in Amy’s Harris Brothers Series. It was fun, humorous, and sexy!!
Camden messed up his knee and landed himself in the hospital. Along with his surgery came a very attractive doctor. She was different than the rest, she cared more about his health than his status. Was that what made him drawn to her or was it the drugs they had him on?
Indie was used to not being taken seriously, but getting hit on by a hot shot footballer was new. He would also be the perfect guy to help her out. All seemed to be going as planned until the real world started catching up.
The humor was great and I loved how awkward Indie was!! The two of them were from different worlds but made it work perfectly! I can’t wait to see what is in store for them as well as the rest of the family!
So Challengingly Punny!
Oh my gosh! This is the first in the Harris Brother’s series with Camden.
I love the comedy throughout this whole book. Camden Harris is arrogant enough that it creates a good story but doesn’t go over the top. He knows what he wants and doesn’t let anything hold him back.
Indie Porter is one determined gal! She may be book smart but she needs Cam to really show her the ropes.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the brothers have in store. But this one swept me off my feet!
This story has it ALL and then some! “Challenge” is book 1, in the series “Harris Brothers.” The suspense, intrigue and mystery continue throughout, it is fast past, and romantic. Amy Daws is a gifted writer who has us exploring and examining what we do when our life’s dreams are shattered – her story is well developed, her characters have depth, we care and worry about them and she deftly questions life, our place in our Community and can we remain true to ourselves.
Camden Harris is a rising star in British football, at a pinnacle in his career but an injury on the field which could end his career results in a trip to the ER and in need of an operation. Indie is the Doctor on duty when Camden is brought into the hospital. She is a child prodigy and at the age of 24, she’s in her 2nd year of Residency. She has researched and written a paper on the type of surgery that could repair Camden’s injury completely. Therefore, the head Doctor, at the hospital asks that she assist him. But, he has his own agenda and that could negatively affect her. She has a strained relationship with her parents, is a loner, has one girl friend who is trying to help her socialize and enjoy life. And, here comes Camden into her life! He is a star football player, drop dead gorgeous, sexy and is enjoying life. LOL This injury has him questioning his worth. How will people react to him, if he can’t play football? Are they only friendly because he’s a rising football star? He has a loving family but he’s unsure of his place if, he no longer plays football. He begins to question if, he should have the operation because maybe there is more to him.
When, Camden first sees Indie, he’s on pain drugs and believes he is seeing a red-headed angel. Yes, there is instant attraction between them and the chemistry is electric. They have a lot to overcome to get there forever and it’s, as wild as, a championship game to read how they accomplish this. Amy Daws has the ability to help her readers realize that it is good to be open and aware of ourselves and accept who we are. This story is a wonderful romantic story filled with twists and turns and a page turner! I could write more but, it’s time for you to pick up the book and enjoy!!!
Audible Escape is terrific as it allowed me to listen to this excellent story. The narration team played a big role, they were brilliant. This I is the first story I have read/listened to by Amy Daws but it won’t be the last. I found myself sucked into the story straight away. The characters are fun and enduring while the Various themes at times risque and other times poignant. I look forward to what happens with the rest of the Harris’.
FANTASTIC!!!
CHALLENGE is the first book in the “Harris Brothers” series.
Sports romance at its finest. The Harris Brothers are to English Football what the Mannings (or the Wyatts or are the oh so sexy Mccourty twins) are to American football. In addition to sexy football playing brothers, there are two amazing young doctors who have illustrious careers ahead of them.
This story had wonderful world building, great banter, some serious moments and open door sex.
I listened on Audible and read on my Kindle when I was unable to listen. I didn’t want to miss a single moment of the story and I am looking forward to reading more of these brothers.

Another great book by Amy Daws! Camden and Indies story was a great start to this series. On to more Harris Brothers.
Some girls have all the luck I tell ya.
When Virginal, cute Dr.Indie Porter asks God..
“Is it too much to ask for the universe to drop a bad boy player on my lap?”
Well….Rather than God answering my virginal prayer with a player, the devil answered it with four.
The Harris brothers have landed in the hospital, getting everyone in a tizzy.
Scrumptiously hot, almost divine and with legendary skills, both on and off the field,The Harrises are God’s answer to salivating, screaming women everywhere (including yours truly)
This was My first book by Amy. I met her and instantly became a fangirl. Her vivacious personality, wicked sense of humor, perpetual smile, her joie de vivre is infectious. And this seeps through in her words, stories and books. Needless to say I’ll be devouring ALL her previous books
So I picked her book. I swear her words are soaking moist, dripping with pent up passion and my panties were in a wad everytime Camden Harris the God looked at me….I mean indie!!
“That was the best sex of my life, Camden Harris. Is that what you need to hear?”
“That was the only sex of your life, Indie Porter.”
And I hated her zealously. I mean you’ve got a walking-talking wet dream, famous footballer running after you with his tongue hanging and she keeps fighting it!!
Either jump him or get out of the way girl, let (me) mature gal handle him
“you avoided me like I had a bad case of herpes, which I know is fully cleared up right now.”
“You have herpes?”
She’s a goner, So am I
Fantastic, smart Ass witty banter between Cam & indie who has a sharp tongue and crazy brain- ingredients for a perfectly engaging romance.
I loved the writing. She brings quirky indie to life, her unrehearsed, untainted and untouched personality had innocent sensuality.
Camden, Tanner, Booker, Tanner, vi Harris were thick as thieves, in your face Harris family.
“You see, my brothers and I have an understanding about women. We call it the Bacon Sandwich Rule. If I lick a bacon sandwich, that means it’s mine and they can’t touch it. Ever. We apply this same well-thought-out and highly-sensitive philosophy to women”
See….charmers!!!
Each member was just as important as the next. They are sassy, sarcastic bunch, hold no punches, both literally and figuratively and the puns lift the story higher
Loved to have found a new author to get all stalker crazy over
5 stars from Heart Tomatoes
I really enjoyed listening to this story. Those Harris Twins! Well….let me say Brothers! Dang I can see why all the women want or want to be with a Harris brother. This is going to be an amazing series. I am normally not a fan of *virgin* stories. Not sure but they don’t appeal to me. This one is an exception to that rule. I loved the way this was written. I easily kept my interest from the beginning. The characters…Whoa! Cam gets a low blow to his career. He needs to learn to understand the repercussion. I loved being in his head and watching (listening.ha)to his turn around from womanizer to wanting a single woman. That was perfect! His thoughts, opinions and heartbreak were all mine along with him. Indy (first off LOVE the name) is a little brainiac. She is in a dilemma and wants to use her brain to get out of it. The struggle begins when her feelings and heart come Into play.
Secondary characters…okay did I mention the Harris Brothers? I did? Ok did i mention their hot factor? Or their love of family? How about their wittiness? Or their lone sister? Oops! Guess i just did. Belle does a wonderful job and I think she has something going with Tanner (Book 2). These characters all added to the story but didn’t detract from the main characters.
I listened to this on audio. Which was lovely! I would recommend because of the British accents!! The narrators did a wonderful job! I’m living in a British world now and i love it! My only issue was when the male was doing Cams chapter and the female (Indy) talked within the chapter..one voice was way louder than the other. So I needed to adjust my volume. This was slightly annoying. Other than that. Great entertaining face paced read!
This was a great read.
I enjoyed seeing how these two characters changed throughout the book.
I definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author.
