He’s her patient. She’s his doctor. They shouldn’t. But God, do they want to. Camden Harris, the famously hot, hulk of a footballer is laid up in a London hospital. But his busted knee doesn’t stop him from running his well-practiced game on Indie Porter—his redheaded spitfire of a doctor. She’s not his type, not even close. But she could be the perfect distraction from the soul-crushing damage … soul-crushing damage this injury could cost him.
Indie’s tired of her naivety putting a target on her back. As a gifted child, she’s let her education take the front seat her whole life. But a fling with a footballer like Camden might be just what she needs to grab life by the balls.
And he could be the perfect guy for the plan she’s been sitting on for over two years.
But when feelings make a final play, there’s no amount of medicine that can heal the damage to their hearts.

I did not want to put this book down because it was a year jerker. Great read.
I read this book in a day and then went and fount the next book and read that in a day as well! Love Camden and Indie, definitely a page turner!
I was very disappointed in this book. Sometimes it is hard to keep writing about a family four different times. The first book was very good, second good, third book fair, last book terrible. I know there is second book to the last brother but I am not going to read it. I am sorry but the book really, really bad! I love the author but stop at maybe the second sequel!
I absolutely LOVED this book! The characters were realistic and lovable. There were great scenes between the characters and I just adored them both!
Loved the characters and the story. Have read the rest of the books in the series, which I don’t always do.
My first Amy Daws book and I’ve since devoured books 2 and 3 and am working on the oldest brother’s duet. I can not recommend this series and this author highly enough. Amy Daws brings the steamy and the hilarious. I fell hard for these characters and I was laughing out loud! And the way she writes amazing female leads.. these books are pure perfection.
Good read. Loved this story. It was great how the very different characters found in each other what they never thought they were looking for. Very romantic, sweet story.
I enjoyed the characters and can’t wait for next book
I LOVED it! I thought that Booker (Keeper) would be my favorite Harris brother, but Camden truly stole my heart. His sweet vulnerability was such a counterpoint to his persona prior to his injury and meeting Indie. And she was such a unique character as well – the way that she reacted to emotional intimacy was a shock to me (and I’m the queen of knowing what’s going to happen next) and that experience was such a delight. I think what I really enjoyed is that Camden’s injury sparked an existential crisis for both of them individually and it was amazing watching them navigate through it together and separately. I just LOVED them! But especially Camden. Now I must devour all of Amy Daws’ books. She is officially a “must read” author for me and I have to go acquire all the print copies and audiobooks and kindle copies – basically she’s earned all my money! 5 out of 5 wine glasses.
Challenge by Amy Daws is a sexy and funny sports romance filled with cheesy puns and one-liners. Camden Harris is a swoon worthy panty-dropping hero that I could not get enough of. Indie is damaged by her past and at times frustrated me with the steel walls she had around her heart. I loved getting to know these characters and seeing Indie try to work her way through her penis list.
I rotated between reading Challenge on my Kindle and listening to the audiobook version of Challenge on my phone while at work, and I have to say the narrators were perfect. The voices and accents were all a cherry on top of this wonderful story. I already have the Kindle and audible versions of Endurance downloaded so I can start the next Harris brother’s story!
OMG the feels. Poor Indie. Having never experienced love she has no clue what to do with all of these new emotions that Cam awakens in her. Not only that, but she has emotions with Belle too that she has never experienced since she has never had any friends. So what is a girl to do with all of these emotions? That’s right, run from them and push everyone away.
And Cam has always been a player. He has never had a woman to his flat. He has never served a woman coffee. He has never had to deal with having these emotions before either. I found it funny that for having his family all up and in his business, not one of them really knew him and it took Indie to point that out.
As this is the first book in the Harris brothers series, but the second book I’ve read in the series, I can’t wait for more Harris love.
NO SPOILERS!
Challenge was a unique, sexy, humorous, and highly entertaining standalone sports romance, and I absolutely loved it! The storyline and characters were amazing, and I loved Amy Daws’ writing style and sense of humor. Challenge was an excellent start to the Harris Brothers series, and I can’t wait to read more!
Camden and Indie were amazing and I loved them and their story so much. I loved their personalities and red-hot chemistry together, and how most of their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Camden and Indie’s POV, and most of their banter and interactions with each other. I am a huge sports and sports romance fan, but I hadn’t ever read about a British football (soccer) player before, so this was a new experience that I really enjoyed. I’m an American like Amy Daws and haven’t been to Europe yet, but I thought the author did a fantastic and authentic job with the setting, characters, and everything else. There were a few parts that I didn’t like as much, but overall Challenge was still a unique and entertaining story from beginning to end, and I was very happy with the conclusion to Camden and Indie’s story.
Challenge was an intriguing, sexy, funny, and immensely entertaining standalone sports romance, and I would highly recommend it! Amy Daws is a phenomenally talented author, and I have quickly fallen head over heels in love with her and her books. She did a fantastic job with Challenge, and I was very pleased with the outcome to Camden and Indie’s story. Challenge was only my second novel from Amy Daws so far, my first was Wait With Me (a definite MUST READ!), but it certainly won’t be the last. I have fallen in love with the Harris family, and I can’t wait to read about the other three brothers in the rest of the series!
Challenge by Amy Daws a sporty surprising five-star read. This book is the start to the Harris Brothers series which is a spin-off of the London Lovers series, all books are stand-alone but do share some of the same characters.
This book centres around Dr Indie Porter who is a star in the hospital that she is a 2nd year resident at. Indie skipped some grades in school and is known for her amazing study skills and research she even has one of her research papers published, that leads to changes in the way they do a revolutionary surgery meaning she is a star in her own right. Indie hasn’t always had the easiest times, as she was younger than the others in school they didn’t always see things the same way, and lots of people in the hospital are jealous of this rising star. The one who isn’t is her best friend Belle, they made instant friends and she is the only real relationship that Indie has as she isn’t close to her folks and the cold grandma that raised her died a couple of years previously. Being so bad at friendships and relationships means that Indie is still a virgin, and now doesn’t know what to do, just sleep with someone or save it? So her and Belle make a list then even create a Pinterest board about it, there are 3 types she needs the first being someone who knows what he’s doing in bed, confident and cocky, and will give you a good time, the second someone who will worship you and cry as he comes, sensitive and caring, and the third the perfect guy a mix of both who you can settle with
The surgery that she wrote her paper about is one that the other main character Soccer star and general all around heart throb and lothario, Camden Harris needs to ensure he can go forward with his soccer career, as after getting most of the way through the season on the penultimate match the rain is against him and causes him to go down in the mud after a shady tackle meaning he tears his ACL, a possibly career ending injury. When he finds himself in hospital, he appreciates the Doctor who is looking after him, she’s hot in a nerdy type of way, not his usual look but she got enough curves to distract him from the pain and worry of his injury. Despite her telling him it can’t go further as she is his Doctor, he still kisses her and she realises that this could be the perfect number one for her list once he has completed his surgery’s. Only problem is he doesn’t want to wait.
This is a great read, and I can’t wait to go and read the books in the London Lovers series. If they are as well written, hot and funny as this book I am confident they will be 5 star reads also.
What happens when a hot footballer & a sexy genius doctor meet?
I read this book when it first came out. I am re-reading as the date for Gareth’s book approaches. I adore the Harris family. This was my first Amy Daws read. I devoured it and anxiously awaited Tanner’s story. Indie and Cam are fantabulous! I love how the playboy footballer falls in love with the bookish genius virgin, although she’s not clueless, she was just picky. And who wouldn’t want their Penis Number One to end p being Penis Number Three? She meets him when injury causes him to wonder who he is if he doesn’t have football. And he meets her right when she’s ready to experience more. Serendipity, right? I still love this book!!
My first meeting with the Harris brothers……pure perfection!
I was unsure what to expect from this book. I know Amy Daws can deliver a story, but seeing as I hadn’t read the London Lovers books (where the Harris brothers are introduced), I had no idea what was coming for me. In just a few pages, I already knew that I was going to adore these brothers — honestly, the whole family.
Indie was an interesting character. Seeing as she had skipped a few grades and had some different life experiences, she was quite different. She kept herself closed off and distant from any and all feelings. When she’s greeted with all that is Camden Harris, he presents a whole new challenge for her to overcome.
Every character in this book pulls you in, even when it’s not their story. I became absorbed not only with Cam & Indie, but with the world swirling around them as well. If you know me, you’ll know that it’s always, always the characters that make or break the story for me. This story was a great mix of heart, family, laughs, and all the things that make a story great.
“…I feel like…I feel like…” I rake my hands through my hair, trying to find the right words. “Like what?” she snaps, losing a chink of her armour. “Like I’ve been playing pretend my whole life!”
“I don’t want a girlfriend.” I snap. “I just want you. I want you in all the ways that supersede labels.” I pause, waiting for my breathing to slow but then growl out, “Stop holding back.”
*5 Stars*
This was my first book by Amy Daws, and it won’t be my last! I loved this one. It was fun, flirty, had some serious issues to do with each of the characters lives, and was just all round an enjoyable read.
I don’t want to give too much away, but the basic plot line as per the blurb, is that the two main characters are Indie; a doctor, and her patient, Camden Harris; one of the top football (soccer for us Aussies) players going around. They have instant chemistry (no this isn’t weird insta-love, this book actually works) and obviously being DR/Patient this presents some issues.
The story unfolds in a really great way and has some really awesome secondary characters in terms of Indies best friend and also Cam’s family.
I breezed through this one and would love to read more about these guys or the secondary characters to continue the series.
Highly recommend, I couldn’t put this down!
All the Romance, Fun, & Emotion a Book Should Have
How did I go this long without reading Amy Daws? I have been missing out. Do not make the same mistake! Read this ASAP, please.
Camden Harris is delicious. His emotional arc was so well done, so believable, so real. He’s also sexy, charming, a bit obnoxious, and a world class athlete. Lots to like there. Indie Porter hit close to home for me. Just love her. Their story was one of the best I’ve read recently.
Ok, on to Tanner’s story! Yay!
In this first book in the Harris Brothers series we follow Camden Harris a up and coming footy player who is having the season of his career when he gets hurt and tears his ACL. He is taken to the hospital and meets the sexy Doctor Indie Porter. Indie is looking for one particular man and Camden Harris is a perfect fit. They make an arrangement for one night of passion but when emotions come into play Camden and Indie get a penalty play. I love this book and I absolutely love these characters. Amy Daws is easily becoming one of my go to authors for romantic and sexy stories. I love a great sports romance. Will M Watt & Charlotte Cole are simply the best duet narrators I have ever heard. They really bring Amy’s story to life and it jumps right off the page with their voices. They have so much emotion and they could be easily be the characters they portray. I will definitely be listening to Endurance the next book in this series. Hot book, Hot story, Hot Author and Hot narrators.
Cute, kinda drags in some parts but has funny & emotional parts to it as well, if you are like me and cry @ happy & sad moments keep the tissues handy. Has a Happy ending and plenty of British Slang 🙂
