Emilia gets a bit blindsided when her grandfather informs her that he bought a hockey team and that she is the one that he is sending to America to run it. Emilia’s world is changing in leaps and bounds, and the last thing she needed was this move, but she is going to make the best of it, so with a very optimistic attitude she sets off on this new journey. As she is doing her research on the team, she is shocked to find out that the man that she had an amazing one night with is on the team she is about to take over. But for her what was an amazing night, may not have been the same for Matt.
Matt has no reason to trust women after being burned one too many times. When he left Emilia’s bed, he didn’t look back and now here she is, taking over the team that he plays for. When Emilia wants to talk, Matt doesn’t want to give her the time of day, she is just the type of distraction he does not need. But will he change his tune when he hears her news?
This turned out to be a really good story! I picked this up since I had read the first book, and the two could not be more different. This was more of a slow burn, but still entertaining and pulls you in so you don’t mind it. I give this 4 stars.
Emilia Ravelli & Matt Walker met for a one night stand that turned into so much more. I loved this story and it’s characters. I love hockey romance stories with a twist and this book was no different. This was my first read by this author but it won’t be my last. I loved this book!!! Highly recommended.
3.5
This was a very slow burn, like embers. I like that it was different than most pregnancy and hockey romances, but there just didn’t seem to be a lot of chemistry between Emilia and Matt until closer to the end of the book. I didn’t feel like there was any growth of their romance.
There was a HEA, and once they were together it seemed to flow more, I just wish that I saw more progress before they officially were together.
I guess this one just wasn’t for me, though I would try another from this author.
Hockey, Italian, Sports, Forbidden, Pregnancy, Fake/Convenient Marriage
When Italian heiress Emilia Ravelli has a one-night stand with American Matt Walker, neither thought they’d see the other again. But fate, and someone else decides otherwise.
Sent from her home to Boston to run the newly acquired Boston Ice Tigers, Emilia just knows she’s in over her head. After all, even though her father had been a hockey player, she knew next to nothing about the sport. Now, an entire organization is dependent on her to not run the organization, but to make sure they make the finals. If she fails, her grandfather, the head of the Ravelli Group, has no problem selling the team and bailing on them. He’s already made that abundantly clear. But that’s not all, when she’s going through the roster of players online, she sees him. The man she slept with that night. The one she only knew as “Matt”. The father of her unborn child. She’s now his boss.
When Matt sees the same temptress from that night in Positano, he’s floored. Never expecting to see those beautiful eyes again, he doesn’t know what to do. When she attempts to tell him that she’s pregnant, he slams the door in her face. According to all the articles he finds on her online, it seems like she’s with a different man each week, and in his mind, she probably doesn’t know who the father really is. Kind of like his cheating ex, the reason he was alone that night they met.
With tremendous pressure from her grandfather to make sure the team’s a success, launching multiple lines of Ravelli branded clothes, dealing with her pregnancy, and having to face the father of her child, who wants nothing to do with her, Emilia must pull herself together and prove to everyone that she can do it all, apparently alone.
This is a great story. I loved every bit of it. From the story line, to the characters, to the writing. I didn’t want to stop reading. When I discovered, at the end, that this is actually the second book in a series of standalones about the Boston Ice Tigers, I immediately went to Amazon and downloaded the first one. I loved reading Emilia and Matt’s story and rooted for them the entire time. And yes, I cried at the end with Nonno’s revelation. While reading, I kept wondering about Tyler, Lily, and Danny. They’re dynamic is interesting and I kept wanting to read about them as well, hoping that they’re story was next. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that their story was first. I can’t wait to read and get back into the world of the Boston Ice Tigers again. Well done!
I highly recommend if you’re a fan of hockey romance, HEA’s, and wonderful writing with great characters!
**I was given an ARC of this story and this is my honest review.
Isabella Cassazza is on a winning streak with Center of Gravity (Ice Tigers Hockey #2). Emilia Ravelli and Matt Walker spend one amazing night together in Italy, only knowing the other’s first name. Emilia moves to Boston to become the new GM of the Ice Tigers’ hockey franchise. She’s shocked to discover that Matt is one of her players. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult readers.
Isabella Cassazza does a fantastic job with this story. Emilia and Matt have a lot of stressful issues to overcome in this novel. Especially Emilia who is thrown into a situation, she knows nothing about. She handles herself well. They both grow considerably throughout this book. I enjoyed the fashion twist with the sports team. I love that they get a second chance to be together. This story is a good example of why communication is important.
I love that Tyler Wolfe, Danny Fisher, and Lily Parker from book one, Defying Gravity played an integral role in this story. I’m looking forward to Michael’s story in book three, Fighting against Gravity. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I have not read any books by Isabella Cassazza before, after this book I will as this book had such a wonderful story line .
It is a beautiful story of love , love that sometimes you can’t show, maybe you find it awkward or perhaps life has thrown a curve ball in your past …
This hockey story kept my attention because it was unusual with so much happening .
Matt Walker was a dejected star hockey player his personal life hit rock bottom.
Emilia Ravelli a loyal grand daughter who works in the family business of fashion.
While Matt is holidaying in Italy is meets Emilia their chemistry explodes it’s a night to remember , the next morning Matt has gone.
This is such a riveting read I devoured it in one sitting ….
I would recommend this book to all readers.
What a great story! Secret baby + hockey romance is a favorite combo of mine. Matt and Emilia hook up in her native Italy, thinking it was for only one night. To their surprise, they’re thrown back in each other’s lives and now they’re tied together. It was awesome watching them navigate their attraction, Matt’s trust issues, and the pressures on Emilia from her family not to mention her job. I was completely involved in their story. The author shows great skill in making the characters important to the reader. I give Center of Gravity 5 stars! Looking forward to more from Ms. Cassazza.
Center of Gravity: An Accidental Pregnancy Romance
I can hardly believe that this is only the second book from by Isabella Cassazza. Center of Gravity is simply amazing. This remarkably written story is an emotional journey of two people who truly need each other.
Emilia feels the pressure of being raised by her Old-World grandfather and never being quit good enough for him. You feel her slowly losing her lights because of the over baring personality of her grandfather. But a magical one-night stand and a chance to manage a Hockey team in Boston seem just what she needs to find herself.
Matt Walker is everything we need from a strong male character. Even though he is living his dream as professional hockey player his personal life is floundering. A trip to Italy that was supposed to be his honeymoon for a wedding that doesn’t happen leads him to a one-night stand with an Italian goddess. Matt is not an overtly alpha male, but you absolutely feel the power of who his and his determination.
Center of Gravity is truly a love story. It hits all the marks for me on what I want in a love story. Complex characters with so much to lose but if they just give each other a chance the rewards will be huge. Every page was addicting. I could not read this story fast enough. Center of Gravity is the second book in the Ice Tigers Hockey Romance series but can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend Center of Gravity and give it a 4/5 star rating.
An enjoyable romance read this newest release was easy to read with a great storyline. Emilia and Matt one night stand follows them when they find themselves in a particular situation. What happens next makes for a sweet and feel good journey with just the right amount of drama and heat level. This was my first read by the author and it did not disappoint. If you love sports romance than this one is for you.
This is the 2nd novel in this awesome series and is Emilia and Matt’s story. This is a beautifully written story which is intense, emotional, humorous, and a powerful love story. I was hooked and intrigue throughout his addictive page turner, and I highly recommend for all readers.

Do they get there happily ever after??? Read this book to find out what happens with Emilia and Matt as the put there love on the line…
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I can’t make up my mind whether I enjoyed this story or not. Neither character draws you in at the beginning. Matt has to be one of the surliest and most unlikeable characters I have encountered in story. It took three quarters of the book for me to start seeing any positive characteristics in him.
Emilia is a downtrodden mess in the first few chapters. She was determined not to fail in this new task set by her grandfather. Her meek character changes once she reaches Boston and, by engaging people and being open she creates a new culture in the team which was very effective.
Center of Gravity (An Ice Tigers Hockey Romance Book 2) by Isabella Cassazza. I loved this story. Its the story of Emilia Ravelli who is caught in a mess. She has pretty much lived a dream life because she was born into the Ravelli family and she works in their family’s high fashion corporation but she feels like everything she does is wrong or makes everyone upset. So when she has a one night stand with a hot guy she meets she never expects the repercussions that occur. Matt Walker is a professional Hockey player who has had bad luck in love. One night after his longtime girlfriend cheats on him he meets Emilia out and they hook up. Expecting to never see her again when he sees by some craziness she is his new boss he is shocked to say the least and when she delivers news to him that turns his world upside down he can’t believe it. Will they be able to work together and will they be able to work out their relationship so that they can both be happy? Read Center of Gravity to find out!
Emilia and Matt’s story starts off rocky. Emilia wakes to find him gone. Her grandfather sends her to Boston to manage a the Ice Tigers. To her surprise, Matt plays for them.
This story gripped me from the beginning. I couldn’t get enough of their story. The ups and downs and plenty of witty banter. Definitely recommend.
I was compelled to read this book because of my love for hockey and romance. Some girls dream of happily ever after, I prefer hat tricks and goalie masks. This is a well-written romance. The storyline is engaging. Isabella Cassazza did a great job with the details of hockey. Characters are well developed and loveable. This is Emilia and Matt’s story. Both of them lost souls looking for someone to find them. When Emilia was sent to Boston to manage the Ice Tigers, can she break away from her controlling Grandfather? She was to have one night of hockey which turned into a magical night. Matt is a struggling hockey player looking for the Cup win. Matt has been burned by people in the past/present. Will he be able to put things aside and start a relationship with the new manager of the Ice Tigers. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are a hockey-romance lover like myself.
Center of Gravity (Ice Tigers #2) by Isabella Cassazza was a good 4 star read.
After once again disappointing her grandfather, Emilia has been sent to take over managing the Tigers She is determined to prove herself to her grandfather. She has been trying to get his respect for years. She has one slight problem, she has no clue about hockey. Another thing she didn’t expect was Matt being on the team.
Matt is a player focused on the game and avoiding women. However, fate plays a little trick on him when he meets the new manager of the Tigers. What will happen when Emilia’s secret comes out? Will these two get a HEA with each other?
Overall I really enjoyed this book. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. All of the characters added a great element to the story. There were some secrets and surprises that I didn’t expect. These two were perfect for each other. If you like sports romance with a twist you will like this book. 1-click and get started today.
Center of Gravity is the second book in Isabella Cassazza’s series Ice Tigers. The writer has said that you can read it as a standalone and I did read it without having read the first book. I love ice hockey series and I felt that I need a sweet ice hockey series and I am always open to new writers so I picked up a copy and I do not regret it all. I actually would say that read the first book of the series’ first as I kept wondering about the guys who were the main in the book one and also appeared in book two!
Center of Gravity is Emilia and Matt’s story and there was something very comforting about the story. I think it was Emilia who had not found her place in her grandfather’s high fashion world, the moments when she thought back on her life as a six year old girl and her finally finding her place and purpose and her … center of gravity that would be there for always and help her weather any storms … and then there was Matt, his successful macho hockey persona and his vulnerable betrayed by woman side and his taking a chance and finding his inner strength.
I actually really fell into this Ice Tigers universe in Boston with its colourful characters so I already downloaded the first of the series and I know I will be heading for the third book after I have finished with that!
I really enjoyed this book. Who doesn’t dream of going to another country and essentially finding the love of your life? The way Matt and Emilia ended up together isn’t ideal, but stranger things have happened. The growth of both characters was great, especially Emilia. I loved the fact that she finally got the strength to stand up for herself. It’s not always easy, especially when it is family you are standing up to. Matt and Emilia are great together and there are a few lessons that can be learned here.
Center of Gravity: A Standalone Friends-to-Lovers Sports Romance (An Ice Tigers Hockey Romance Book 2) by Isabella Cassazza is a slow burn romance. The story line, the characters, and Isabella’s words make this an enjoyable read. It is an emotional journey and tugs on those heart strings. One magical night of passion and their world is tipped upside down as two people come together with what their souls have always known.
****4 stars****
Center of Gravity: An Ice Tigers Hockey Romance (Ice Tigers Book #2) by Isabella Cassazza
Center of Gravity is an easy to read sports romance. It’s Book #2 in the Ice Tigers Series, but I had not read book #1 and don’t feel like I was missing anything so I think this works fine as a stand-alone book. I’ve read sports related fiction in the past and there was too much sports lingo that would get me distracted and take away from the story, but this book was a great balance. The characters were likable and the storyline was stress free and enjoyable, with pregnancy, hockey, romance, and a happily ever after.
