What she uncovers may get her killed… When Carli Moore finds the body of Zain Wescott’s missing sister on her family’s ranch, Zain is convinced Carli’s brother is the murderer. But Carli’s sure Zain is wrong, and she’ll prove it–if the killer doesn’t take out both her and Zain first. Now they just have to live long enough to uncover the truth…and bring a murderer to justice.
Cave of Secrets is the debut story for Shannon Redmon. Is a book in a class of its own. Amazingly put together will grab you from the moment you open the book. It was packed with action from the start and entwined detailed life story of each character beautifully. Along with a message of keeping the Faith in God and Strength.
I was hooked by a wonderf8ul plot. The author had me at the edge of my seat turning the page. Thinking for sure I had guessed it to be surprised at the end by the true evil leader.
Carli and Zain will take you through their heartbrake journey to unfold the mysteries that have led them to the present and resolve the mysterious coincidence of every test of Love, Hope and Faith they are thrown at.
Definitely a book I highly recommend and looking forward to reading more from this author. If you love and enjoy suspense, mystery and good clean Christian story this is the book and author for you.
Received a complimentary copy of the book for my personal honest opinion about it. 5+ stars.
An excellent debut book by this author! You’d never know it because it seemed like a seasoned author! She’s a great storyteller! The suspense was so good! It kept you guessing to the end. Just when you thought you had it figured out, the roller coaster continued on another track and took you somewhere else! Carli and Zain had been sweethearts before but were torn apart by the death of Zain’s sister. Two years later, her remains are found on Carli’s property and everything starts up again! Old wounds are opened and not only is the case opened again, but new danger begins and Carli’s life is continually threatened. I loved Eli, the cute nephew of Carli. Zain, being a law man, is so torn by duty to his job and his love for Carli in many situations. A great book and I look forward to many more books by Ms. Redmon!
This was a quite good debut novel for inspirational suspense. Well done with a good plot and likeable characters. I hope to read more about some of the secondary characters here. Recommended.

What she uncovers
may get her killed…
When Carli Moore finds the body of Zain Wescott’s missing sister on her family’s ranch, Zain is convinced Carli’s brother is the murderer.
But Carli’s sure Zain is wrong, and she’ll prove it—if the killer doesn’t take out both her and Zain first.
Now they just have to live long enough to uncover the truth…and bring a murderer to justice.
This is Carli Moore and Zain Wescott’s story.
This is Tyler Moore and Eli Moore’s story.
This is and Zain Wescott and Sadie Wescott’s story.
Carli Moore is back home at the family ranch, exploring the cave on their property with her nephew Eli.
Carli Moore stared at the pile of rocks inside the cave and shivered away the damp feeling of dread building within her. The last time she visited the cavern on her family’s ranch was two years ago, before her best friend, Sadie, disappeared.
Volunteers from the small town of Crystal Creek, North Carolina, had scoured every inch of acreage nearby for the twenty-two-year-old beauty, including a thorough combing of Carli’s property.
But Sadie’s body was never found. The cave, empty.
Now here Carli stood, moisture from the stone ceiling dripping on her head. She stared at the pile of rocks stretching about five and a half feet long. The same height as her best friend. A swatch of pink poked up from a space between the stones.
The garment was knitted, dirty.Familiar.
Pressure from her five-year-old nephew’s hand patted her leg. “I’m so sorry, Aunt Carli. I didn’t mean to run off. I was excited about playing in the cave today.”
“We haven’t talked in two years, Carli. You ran off to Atlanta and never looked back. What could you possibly have to say to me now?”
“I found a body. I think it might be her.”
He straightened at her announcement, the words tightening his facial muscles. “You mean Sadie?”
She nodded.
“We’ve searched this entire county three times over for my sister. Why do you think a body you found is hers?”
I highly recommend reading.
Cave of Secrets by Shannon Redmon is a wonderful well written 5 star book.
I am looking forward to reading more books by Shannon Redmon.
Wow! This may be a debut novel but you’d never know it because author Shannon Redmon has successfully captured all of the elements of a good suspense novel. Questions, unknown villains, miscommunication, plus lots of intrigue and danger! The questions begin on the very first page, when Carli Moore finds a swatch of pink material poking up from a pile of stones and is immediately reminded of a tragedy that occurred two years earlier. From then on, the uncertainty and heart-pounding action continue, until they culminate into an exciting “I didn’t see that coming!” moment.
The cave mentioned in the title certainly holds many secrets and Carli realizes just how these unknown facts continue to haunt her. She is aided by Zain Westcott as she searches for answers and I wondered if their once strong friendship would experience further damage. Would the two friends who won a three-legged race during Bible School survive the threats against them? Could they find a path to truth and trust…together?
This book reminds us that our world continues to be a place where both good and bad exist but there is the assurance that goodness will prevail! This strong faith element and the sweet romance help make Cave of Secrets an appealing story and I certainly recommend it to all who enjoy Christian romantic suspense.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. A favorable review was not required and no compensation was received. These are my own thoughts.
Cave of Secrets is the debut novel by Shannon Redmon. Carli Moore returns home to her family’s ranch where she discovers her best friend’s body in a cave on her property. She’s devastated. She also knows that she has to inform Zain Wescott (Sadie’s brother and Carli’s former love) of her discovery. Soon the two will be working together to help solve the mystery of what happened to Sadie those years ago and to keep Carli alive as a killer threatens her very life.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a great whodunit. There was enough action, love interest, mystery, and faith to keep it interesting. I loved the scenery of Crystal Creek and Carli’s family’s ranch. The ending was great too. Though we didn’t get an epilogue, there still was resolution of the two main characters. I hope Shannon Redmon continues to write books. I also hope this is the start of a series of the locals in Crystal Creek. I’d love to read a story about Tyler (Carli’s brother) and Nate (one of the town’s LEOs). It was a great book. I hope you take the time to read it. I think you would enjoy it!
I was given a copy of the book, but all opinions are my own. I loved it. =)
With the constant thrill of danger, strife and pull of a sweet reunion this debut novel by Shannon Redmon is one not to miss! In CAVE OF SECRETS the reader is quickly drawn into the case that will forever bind the main characters together while a back story is brought to the forefront with the reunion of young love. The characters were well developed and the danger lurking around every corner is sure to please as the things you think you know are quickly turned upside down.
Carli has the reader’s sympathy the second she stumbles across a crime scene and we hear the heartbreaking story that links her to it. She was strong and devoted in her love for her friend, her ex and her brother even as she was being pulled in multiple directions at the same time.
Zain’s loyal heart shows itself quickly as he tries to get to the bottom of his sister’s case while trying not to cause Carli’s world to explode again.
I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a powerfully written mystery that shows both the good and bad in the world with a strong foundation of faith. I’m looking forward to more to come from this new author!
Wow! This book is fantastic! You would never guess that this is a debut book. It had me captivated the whole way through! I loved Zain and Carli! I can’t wait to read more from Shannon Redmon!
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
Cave of Secrets by Shannon Redmon is a fast-paced, action-packed, romantic suspense. It has everything you could ask for in a suspense–an interesting, twisty, complicated mystery, a don’t-blink-or-you’ll-miss-a-clue pace, and well-developed, memorable characters. This story sucked me in by the end of the first chapter, and I had to use all my will power to choose sleep over this story!
I loved the small-town community of Crystal Creek, the legacy of the Moore family, and the history between Carli and Zain. Despite the shorter nature of the story, I felt like I knew each of the characters well by the end. And I’m a sucker for a second-chance romance, like Carli and Zain’s. Swoon! They are such a great team–and adorable together.
I enjoyed every moment of this story, and I think any fan of romantic suspense will want Cave of Secrets on top of their TBR.
I was given a copy of the book by the author with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Cave of Secrets is simply amazing and certainly does not seem like a debut novel, at all. Ms. Redmon had my undivided attention from the very beginning when Carli Moore found the body of Zain Wescott’s missing sister on her family’s ranch. The storyline is filled with suspense and had me turning pages as fast as I could, I didn’t want to put this book down until I knew what had happened and what was going to happen.
There was never a time when I got distracted while reading this novel, the characters are fantastic and the pace is perfect. Kudos to the author for keeping me guessing and totally surprising me with the ending. Shannon Redmon is a gifted storyteller and I eagerly look forward to reading the next story she chooses to tell. I definitely recommend this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and was under no obligation to write a favorable review. All opinions are completely my own.
Excellent book. The cover is beautiful and fits the story completely. After finding her friends dead body on her family’s ranch all the danger is directed at her. This is a quick paced easy read. The excitement starts from the first page and never lets up. Lots of danger and surprises. I definitely recommend reading this book. It’s a good clean story where faith is an important part of the characters lives.
You would never know this is a debut book from Shannon Redmon, Cave of Secrets is a masterful tale. I intended to read this over a period of several days and just couldn’t put it down. Sleep is optional for this story.
Carli and Zain have a rough history, filled with pain and sorrow. They began with fun and love, but tragedy has a way of darkening ones lives. Death of family members, suspicion of guilt and mysterious coincidences make for a tough battle. See how faith and perseverance lead these two back to each other and to the real sources of all the heartache.
I couldn’t put this book down and it wasn’t until the very end that the villain was revealed. I thought I had it figured out, boy was I wrong. If this is how Redmon’s first book reads, I truly cannot wait to see more from this talented author.
I received a copy of the book from the author, without expectation of a favorable review. All opinions expressed are my own. I highly recommend this author to anyone who enjoys faith inspired suspense tales. The characters are rich, the situations are filled with suspense and if you don’t mind missing a night’s sleep, these are the books you need to keep close.
