Or is he running to his past? When Dylan meets Chloe Tettersaw, … Dylan meets Chloe Tettersaw, the pretty new girl in town, everything changes. A relationship and love are no longer off the table. But it’s not all smooth sailing. When a mysterious stalker makes Chloe’s life a living hell the couple find themselves, and their burgeoning love, tested.

I was expecting a steamy, sexy hockey romance. This story delivered that but also gave me an emotional story of two characters who find healing with each other.
With the help of Dylan, Chloe is able to find her own inner strengths.
Caution on Ice is the 4th book in The Boys of Winter hockey romance series. It can be read as a standalone and in fact it is the first book I’ve read by this author. The audiobook of this story was entertaining and made my long commute so much more enjoyable!
-4 Stars!-
Audio Review from 2018
I enjoyed this story. It was mostly simple with a couple of small twists in it that albeit obvious were a nice addition to it.
Chloe and Dylan move pretty fast in their relationship but in reality when you jibe with someone time is pretty irrelevant.
The ending was super cute and made me smile. There were multiple giggles throughout the story too.
Reagan West was the narrator and I think she did a great job of making her voice distinctive enough so you could tell who was speaking at the time.
I’ve loved this series from the beginning, but this book I think is my favorite. The author created a story that wasn’t just about their growth as friends to lovers. They both individually had growth and hurdles they had to overcome and they did it together. Chloe was there for Dylan when he needed his hand held to get past his past and Dylan was SO there for Chloe with hers. It was an uplifting story to read. It put a smile on my face even when my heart was hurting for them. Because they were perfection for each other.
I feel I should say one thing … this story can be read on its own BUT I don’t recommend it with this series. These guys share a team spirit that you feel and read from the beginning. They are in each other’s books as additions to the story so it would help you as a reader to understand them from the beginning. But that’s just my opinion. Anywhere you start with Boys of Winter you’re going to enjoy it. #TRUST
Dylan is easy to read, but hard to understand. On the ice he has it all together. Off the ice his heart is falling apart. Haunted by a past he can’t outrun, he seems doomed to repeat his worst living nightmare. This time will the woman he loves be his saving grace or his ultimate downfall? Caution on Ice is an emotional whirlwind that begins in darkness and ends with redemption. Shaped by tragedy Dylan needs something to restore his faith in life and love. Chloe is his second chance, but she has a few demons of her own. West and Grey are a combination of gritty dialogue and tempting storytelling. A tale of heartbreak and survival that sticks.
This is an instant-love sweet story, fast-paced, with funny and steamy scenes, a little suspense and a beautiful HEA. I love the two main characters. Chloe is a strong woman and Dylan is so protective. I also like the other characters, including Jack…! The Epilogue is also sweet and heartwarming. I can’t wait for the next book in the Series. The narration is well done and easy to listen. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
In this book we follow the story of Dylan Culderway and Chloe Tettersaw. Dylan is a hot hockey player that is struggling in his life and career. Chloe is just out of a abusive, horrible marriage and divorce, she is ready to start living her life again. When they meet at her brother’s gym they just connect but when the past comes back to haunt it will test their new feelings and it may cost one of them their life. I loved this story, I am finding that Hockey romance is becoming a favorite of mine. I flew through this book because I couldn’t wait to read more. Great characters that touched me and a story that enthralled me. Definitely a must read and highly recommend it.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be the last!
I enjoyed getting to read about Dylan and Chloe. Chloe has a past that she is working towards getting over. Dylan is a hockey player who wasn’t looking for a relationship until Chloe walks by. Can Chloe keep the past where it is meant to be or will it follow her? Can Dylan be the one to help her though?
Great book! I can’t wait to read the others in the series!
I love sports romance, especially hockey, so when Dylan’s story came available I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! I have been with this series from the beginning and this one has a different feel to it. It is more on the serious side and touches on domestic violence and abusive relationships. So, if this is a trigger for you, you have been warned.
I won’t be getting into the story as the synopsis gives you a good idea. What I wanted to do was give you an idea of what I felt when reading it. I loved the characters! Dylan is such a wonderful man with a tortured past and that past has affected his game. When Dylan’s past was revealed my heart hurt for him to be carrying around the guilt he has felt for years. Dylan is smitten when he meets Chloe. She is sweet, quirky and funny. She is perfect for Dylan. They both are such caring people. Her brother Graham is her rock. He and Dylan work together to keep Chloe safe from her stalker.
Dylan and Chloe start out as friends and this gave them a great foundation for love to grow. They had baggage and obstacles in their way, but they tackled them together. This was such a sweet and sexy love story. They have amazing chemistry. There is some drama, some hockey action and a little suspense thrown in. The story is told in dual POV, which makes me happy that I can be in the characters heads.
I thoroughly enjoyed Dylan and Chloe’s story and I can’t wait for more of the Boys of Winter.
Having just escaped from a physically and emotionally abusive marriage, Chloe Tettersaw isn’t looking for a relationship. She’s excited to be free and independent, with a little help from her big brother. She’s ready to take her life back one step at a time, and for her, that means working out at her brother’s gym and learning some self defense so she never has to feel out of control again.
Top NHL defenseman Dylan Culderway is an all around great guy. He’s always there for his friends. And, while the ladies find him hot, he’s a real gentleman with no time for fun and games. Lately, though, he’s had some anger issues that stem from his past. When his coach suggests he work out at a private gym rather than with the team to work through his issues, he’s immediately knocked for a loop when he sees the beautiful woman destroying a picture of a guy on a punching bag.
Dylan and Chloe’s attraction is immediate. Dylan immediately loves Chloe’s independence that is intertwined with her need for feeling loved and protected after her past relationship. Chloe loves how supportive Dylan is and how he easily makes her feel safe and cared for. They seem to be a perfect pair and are in a great place to start moving forward with a relationship until a stalker sets his sights on Chloe. It will be up to Dylan to keep Chloe safe while letting her blossom before the stalker does something that can end their love forever.
Caution on Ice was a great read. I enjoyed how Dylan’s personality was so shaped by events in his past that he immediately felt a strong connection and attraction to Chloe. I also thought the author did a fabulous job of having Chloe really grow as a person and come into herself after leaving her abusive ex . . .I enjoyed that she had a 10 step program to help her achieve a new sense of herself and where she wanted to be.
The inclusion of the stalker added some fantastic suspense elements that kept the story moving forward at a fast pace and generated interest making this story much more than just an insta-love romance. 4 stars!
An emotionally beautiful sports romance that S.R. Grey has added to her Boys of Winter series. Out of all her books in this series, Caution on Ice was my favorite due to the inner turmoil these two characters go through and the wondrous triumph in the end.
Emotions run high between Dylan Culderway and Chloe Tettersaw due to their pasts and what they are currently battling. The friendship they concocted has led into a rock solid foundation to more of a lovers interest. When fate decides to hand them their pasts front and center, together they conquer head on.
I loved how S.R. Grey developed these characters, their relationship. To have two characters who come from the same similar elements, but have the same beautiful end goals, outlook on life was something I truly can’t describe. I enjoyed that they started out as friends which led to a love interest. I believe that helped succeed this story and how tremendous it escalated.
Dylan has such a beautiful soul despite his past and at the same time I admired Chloe’s view on life, with how she picks her life up from the negativity she was dealt. Together their chemistry was fierce and undeniable.
I really enjoy emotional turmoil books. S.R. Grey exceeded my expectations in this story. Dylan and Chloe both overcoming obstacles, but outshining their pasts. It’s not easy, it’s rough but with due diligence their story was beautiful. Grey’s writing was heartfelt and captivating and I can’t wait to see more from the Boys of Winter!
5 Winter Stars
Caution on Ice is one of my favorite sports romances! It’s somewhat different than other ones in the genre. I immediately fell in love with Dylan and Chloe.
Dylan is hockey’s top defenseman, and he has a stellar reputation in the league, both professionally and personally. However, running underneath that sexy and cool exterior, is still a boy who lost something precious to him when he was young. He has carried a guilt for it, even though he couldn’t stop what happened. He tries every single day to make up for it. Falling in love isn’t on his agenda that is until he meets Chloe.
Chloe has just moved to town to be with her brother after a horrible breakup with her ex-husband. She is determined to never let herself be treated like that again. She has come up with a way to move on…X for Your Ex Program, steps to getting over your ex. She isn’t really looking for love, but she is somewhat open to maybe dating, that is a big maybe. Dylan changes all that the first time she sees him. But, with all their baggage and danger lurking, it will be a tough road to happiness and love for these two.
Dylan and Chloe have an instant attraction and pull toward each other, but they both decide to be friends for now. For me, that direction Grey took them in made the most sense because they were two broken souls who needed time to heal and build a solid relationship with one another if it was going to last. That slower road to romance was one of my favorite things about the book. I loved watching their friendship and trust develop, oh and their battle of which was better…80’s or 90’s music. I love both, but I’m with Dylan…80’s music is the best.
For me to feel any connection with a book depends on the characters, and I genuinely connected with both of them. Dylan was just about the perfect man…sexy and a gentleman. It was so nice to see an athlete not being a womanizer. He was honestly a good man, and he deserved happiness with someone who loved him. Chloe was the perfect woman for him. Ironically, as you will see in the book, she suffered in some of the same ways as his mother. I think that is something that drew him to her initially. He felt like he could save her, but imagine his surprise when she saved him too. Our Chloe is a fighter, refusing to let her past dictate the woman she is.
I have read The Promises Books by S.R. Grey which was heavier than the Boys of Winter. I loved that series as much I have fallen for these guys. Her ability to write two very different series, I know she has more, as brilliantly as she did just proves to me what a very talented writer she truly is. That is why I will keep coming back to S.R. Grey, her stories, and her unforgettable characters.

I lost count of how many times I thought and said out loud “I love this book!” While reading Caution On Ice. I just couldn’t help it. Right from the start this one is so sweet, so full of love, it had me hooked. This book had me feeling all the warm and fuzzies. Reading this is the book equivalent of a hug.
Dylan and Chloe are one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever read. I really couldn’t have stopped myself from falling in love with them if I tried. Born to be a hero after suffering the cruelest of losses, Dylan is the ultimate protector with a gentle soul and a heart of gold. He will have you seriously swooning one moment and needing a fan the next. Chloe is a woman just discovering her true strength. Determined to make her life better and having a heart of gold. Dylan is the perfect match for her.
There was no denial, no back and forth for them. Both people who don’t bothering hiding from their feelings Chloe and Dylan connect immediately and quickly fall into such a sweet love. I more than loved that about them. In fact it was one of my favorite things about them.
S.R. Grey CAUTION ON ICE is an amazing addition to the Boys of Winter series. Las Vegas Wolves Defenseman, Dylan Culderway is focused on hockey not his personal life. However, when he meets Chloe Tettersaw at the gym he works out at, he cannot deny their connection. This story primarily takes place in Las Vegas. It is suitable for adult audiences.
S. R. Grey created a meaningful and heartwarming story containing issues in domestic violence. She does an admirable job with her character development. They are believable and grow throughout the novel. Chloe and Dylan are good for each other, helping one another to heal. The plot was skillfully written and interesting throughout the novel.
I like Chloe’s brother, Graham. I appreciated how the pamphlet he gave her guided her through the novel. I love the rabbit and his role throughout the book. I also, love that Chloe befriended Aubrey Shelburne for book one, DESTINY ON ICE.
S. R. Grey in on a winning streak with the Boys of Winter series; I’m looking forward to Jaxon Holland’s story next in book five, PLAYER ON ICE, expected to be released during the summer of 2018. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I was excited to be back with the Boys of Winter and book four Caution on Ice did not disappoint once again we got a book that was fun, witty and romantic. S.R. Grey certainly knows how to write a great hockey rom-com and I hope there is more to come in this series.
Dylan is struggling with guilt over not protecting his mother against his abusive stepfather and the guilt is transforming into anger, gone is the nice guy he used to be, enter the anger man who needs some help. Dylan is sent to a specialist gym to try and sort his issues out and that where he meets Chloe who is trying to rebuild her life after leaving her abusive partner. Two people struggling with issues but she becomes his calming influence, she gives him the peace he needs and he becomes her strength and gets her believing in people again, they need each other to move forward.
This is a beautifully written love story with the perfect mix of humour and witty banter, I love the strong characters who are intent on helping each other even though they have their own issues. This series is becoming one of my favourites and just when I think it can’t get any better this author scores with another five star read. Great job with this brilliant series S.R.Grey.
5 Star Review Caution On Ice (Boys of Winter #4) by S.R.Grey
This is fast becoming one of my favourite series. This is the fourth book in the series and is is Dylan Culderway and Chloe Tettersaw’s story and one I thoroughly enjoyed.
This book is a stand alone but I feel you would enjoy it even more if you read the first book in the series Destiny On Ice first. I love the camaraderie between all the characters.
The development of Dylan and Chloe’s relationship, both as friends and then lovers was great. Their was plenty of drama, suspense and intrigue and I loved how Dylan and Chloe faced it down together. I will admit that I would love a Dylan Culderway in my life, he ticks all the right boxes in so many ways.
Dylan is a loyal friend, willing to give his all for those he cares about and Chloe soon becomes extremely important to him. When danger and trouble from Chloe’s past confronts her she realises that Dylan is going to stand beside her, no matter what. His strength will become hers and the chemistry between them is so hot it is almost overpowering.
I love S R Grey’s style of writing, her characters are strong and have depth and I am excitedly anticipating the next book in the series.
