Ren is in desperate need of a rebound fling. Lucky for him, the smoking hot contractor he hired has just the tool for the job. The last thing I want is another relationship or another broken heart. All I need are my bees and the occasional hookup to scratch the itch.Okay, maybe meeting up with my hot contractor weekly is a little more than occasional. And maybe the way I’m starting to feel about … maybe the way I’m starting to feel about the guy I’ve been anonymously chatting with online should concern me.
But CaulkyAF doesn’t want to meet, and Cole doesn’t want anything serious, so what’s the worst that could happen?
**** Caulky is book 1 in the Four Bears Construction Series and can be read as a stand-alone. This is a funny, steamy MM story guaranteed to make you laugh and swoon. Absolutely NO cheating and NO love triangle. This series does NOT contain shifters, it’s the OTHER kind of bears.

I usually have a hard time getting into contemporary books of any kind. This book is amazing! The steam between the two mc’s is just on point.
Oh how I adored this book! I could not put it down. There were so many wonderful things going on and they were so expertly blended together by the incredible writing of KM Neuhold! Ren and Cole, both not looking for a relationship, one on the rebound from a painful breakup and the other not looking for commitment. On so many different levels, they were exactly what they each needed but just didn’t know it yet. They found what they needed in no strings attached hook ups, they found it in heartful text conversations, they found it in each other but just needed some time to figure that out.
The dialogue and banter in this book was off the charts, it was just so good! I was reading with a smile on my face the entire time. The heat level was high, so sexy and so perfectly woven into the storyline.
The secondary relationships were all amazing as well, this is just the start of a series of books that will continue to blend these wonderful characters together. KM has created a world I want to keep going back to over and over again!
Both of them meeting in real life and chatting online and not realising it’s the same guy? Bring it on!! And both of them are commitment phobes! Need I say more?
Ren and Cole have amazing chemistry and the snark and banter is to die for! Should I even say anything about the sex when it’s a K M Neuhold book? (docking)
I adored this book. Ren and Cole are so perfect together. Their romance is swoon worthy. I love books where they start off as fuckbuddies or one night stands and this books ticks all the boxes.
I’m looking forward to the upcoming books in this series. Really curious about Stone and his neighbour. And Daniel and Ollie. What a start to a beautiful series! Highly recommended!!
And that bonus scene? I’m never going to look at honey the same way again!

I enjoyed this book. I thought the chemistry between Cole and Ren was completely off the charts. Cole owns Four Bears Construction with his brother Ollie and their friends Everett and Stone. He’s never had a serious relationship as monogamy isn’t for him. He spends Thursday nights at the gay bar and in his own words he’s a total sl*t. Ren gets dumped by his long term boyfriend, not in person but he finds an invoice for a moving company. What a complete a*sehole. He’s heartbroken so he rings his best friend Daniel who takes him to the gay bar to supply him with lots alcohol and Daniel tells him that the best cure for being dumped is to hook up with another guy hi. Ren spots Cole and after some persuasion from Daniel he goes over to talk to him. Cole likes what he sees but he notices how much that Ren has had too drink, and since he’s not a complete a*sehole they share an extremely explosive kiss, then Cole tells Ren that he’s there on Thursday nights, so if he’s interested he knows where to find him.
It takes Ren a while to go back to the bar but like Cole said he’s there. They don’t even exchange names before they head back to Ren’s to spend the night together. Ren is completely shocked that when Cole shows up at his house a few days later, since he’s the contractor that Ren hired to remodel his bathroom. Ren’s friend Daniel suggests that he should try meeting a guy on M4M which Ren aka Rebound does and starts talking the CaulkyAF, since nothing is going to happen with Cole since he’s paying him. Who knows what’ll happen after he’s finished the job? I loved Rebound and CaulkyAF’s chats they made made me smile. Both Cole and Ren have no idea that they’ve actually been chatting to each other for awhile. What will happen when they find out who the other is? I’m looking forward to reading Stone’s story next. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
I enjoyed Ren and Cole’s funny, sweet and sexy journey. The interweaving of a traditional romance trope with the modern complications of digital devices and social media was a wonderful mix. Ren is recently dumped and while drunk propositions and kisses Cole. Six months later they meet at the same bar for a steamy one night stand. Ren has sworn off relationships and Cole has never been interested in them. Ren also signs up on a dating website with the user name Rebound and begins chatting with CaulkyAF who happens to be Cole. Thus begins the dual love story of CaulkyAF and Rebound who have a text only relationship and Ren and Cole who begin to have a relationship IRL though they both try hard to make it only a weekly physical thing. This book has a little bit of everything on the journey to Ren and Cole’s HEA – sweet moments, heart squeezing encounters, family/friend support, painful pasts, and laugh out loud scenes. I love when real life issues are included in romances, it makes for more three dimensional characters and more well rounded and relatable storylines. I will definitely keep reading more of this series. 3.5 stars because while the book had a really good beginning and ending, the middle dragged some.
This book was as sweet as honey!
“I don’t want a relationship,” he clarifies, and my stomach plummets while irritation rises in my chest. But before I can tell him off for the mixed signals, he goes on, “I want you.”
“Why would I be jealous when I know you’re mine?” I point out, my breath growing heavier as Cole palms my erection through my jeans, kneading it in his hand just enough to tease. “I was wondering the same thing,” he agrees, nipping at my bottom lip. “I can’t even see anyone except for you, Honeybee. It’s crazy, and I never expected it, but there you have it.”

Brief Summary
After breaking up with his long-time boyfriend, Ren decides that the best thing to do is to get laid, which is how he find himself hooking up with Cole, a forty-two-year-old construction worker he hires to remold his bathroom.
The last thing that Ren wants is another heart broken, but these weekly encounters with his hot constructor are getting more occasional.
Review
Wow, I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. It hooked me from the first page and didn’t ever let me go.
First, this book was wonderfully written; the dialogue was *chefs kiss* and the pacing was great, although it felt slow at times, but other than that, it was an amazing book.
Second, I loved the dual POV in this book, especially the way the author switched between Ren and Cole’s point of view throughout the chapters; it was so refreshing to read because some authors tend to stick with one POV per chapter making the book boring for me to read, but that also depends on the characters, the pacing and the plot.
Third, this book is incredibly steamy—which I like—but it got to the point where there was too much sex which made the story feel repetitive and me not enjoying some scenes.
Fourth, Ren and Cole’s dynamic was AMAZING, their chemistry was UNDENIABLE and the communication was FANTASTIC. Also, Cole was so supportive of Ren’s hobby, and Ren’s sassy attitude was everything.
“There’s no way of knowing what the future might hold for us, but I do know how I feel in this moment, and that’s something to be celebrated and shared, not hidden for fear of possible heartbreak.”
Overall, it was a great book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series.
I love this series! These guys are just all really adorable and fun! Construction workers and their talented love interests abound in these charming, sweet, amusing stories. This was the beginning of it all.
Will Ren, the sweetheart beekeeper, get his hea with Cole, the commitment phobic cutie he’s hired to do some repair work? I’d recommend this book for anyone who wants a low angst, wholesome, love story.
An amazing story about taking a chance on love, to be able to find a forever together. Cole and Ren love story is simply sweet and perfect. Loved it!
I don’t have idea why it took me so long to start this series…. BUT I’M IN LOVE
These two made me swoon (and sweat because )!!!
It’s easy to read, and there’s no angst ( oh the joy ) but it’s not boring at all.
It’s a sweet story about giving a chance to love, because when you find your person, everything click together perfectly.
“Sometimes love is nothing more than a quiet moment when your heart just knows it has found its match……
And sometimes love is putting up with someone who’s a total pain in the ass, because you can’t imagine being happy any other way”.
Totally recommended if you just need a story that leave you with a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart
This was such a cute, funny, and surprisingly steamy romance! It has the one night stand turned into something more trope plus the online dating, the two main characters don’t know they are talking to each other kind of trope. I loved every single page and I loved how once they actually started dating for real that they were honest and open with each other. Like there was no big miscommunication that caused them to split toward the end and omg how I love it when a romance does that. Communication is key to making a relationship work and this guys did it and did it well. I most definitely will continue this series!
Overall rating 4 stars
Steaminess 4 stars (kissing, use of a sex toy, rimming, penetrative anal sex, handjobs, fellatio, 69)
Objectively, this is a perfectly fine story that was super sweet.
No drama. No angst. No controversy.
So, in my opinion; Pretty boring.
I liked it well enough during the first half. Before Ren and Cole discovered the truth about their anonymous chat-buddies. But after that revelation the sugar took over entirely, and sure, it was cute but the story sort of petered out. Nothing much happened.
However, to be fair, I listened to the audio. And the narrator who did Ren’s voice – Liam DiCosimo – almost made me quit it entirely which probably affected my overall perception of the read. DiCosimo didn’t articulate very well and the end result sounded like someone who’s really drunk or someone having an excessive amount of saliva in their mouth and trying to talk without drooling all over themselves. So no more DiCosimo for me.
Loved this so, so much! A great romcom that will have you swooning and picking up the entire series in one week. You need this construction family in your life!
I enjoyed this book. Fun and sexy. Made me laugh. Great read.
Great fluffy romance with low drama & angst. For me it got off to a bit of a rocky start but once the story was laid out, I really liked the banter between Colt and Ren. Not to mention the other three bears that work with Colt. I am looking forward to reading the next books in the series. If you want something light, fun and sexy I highly recommend Caulky.
Caulky is the first one in the Four Bears Construction series full of gorgeous bears working with their hands and being way sweeter than they should be.
Ren and Cole’s story is hot and hot and hot. It has a rebound and an anonymous texting trope as well as adorable heartwarming moments and scorching hot bedroom scenes.
I enjoyed it a lot and seeing an anti-commitment guy falling in love is always so satisfying! Seeing them fall for each other against their better judgement was entertaining.
Lovers of MM come and read this!
I don’t tend to like romance theme with construction workers so I was skeptical when I picked this up. But I liked another book by this author I liked so decided to try. Was pleasantly surprised. Not a long book but held my interest with quirky characters and cute romance as well as steamy connections. I’d definitely recommend.
This laugh out loud romance was filled with heat, heart and hot hook ups. Neither Ren nor a Cole were looking for a lasting relationship however that’s what they found in each other through the help of a hook up app and construction of a new bathroom. The break up scene happened early enough that you really got to enjoy the makeup and the happily ever after with no rushing through. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
This was wonderful! One man has been burned and one has never experienced love or a relationship. Together when they least expect it- they find what could turn out to be exactly what they both need!
I loved how this was a slow burn in getting to the relationship/dating part- the sexy times were there but that just added to their relationship building time. It made them both be able to relate to each other without the expectation of anything and then bam- hmmm, oh my!
Our characters are fabulous and that goes for our supporting cast as well!
4.5 stars
I picked up this book of a new-to-me author based on a recommendation, and I am so glad I did. It was just what I needed. The characters seem to be opposites, but have undeniable chemistry(that they do try to deny). The banter is fun both in-person and online. The two main characters are totally likable on their own and wonderful together. And the friends add even more humor and depth. Ren’s bestie Daniel and Cole’s coworkers Ollie, Stone, and Everett all have interesting and dynamic personalities as well. It is fun, hot, and sweet with a little twist the audience is in on and no real angst. I was totally hooked on this one and cannot wait to read the next books in the series.
Adorable!
Yes, a MM romance can be adorable! I love the lightweight rom-com feel of this perfect romance! This book gave me all the feels, I loved everything about it! Ren and Cole are smokin’ hot, yet they are also tender and sweet. Honeybee and Grizz? Come on! It doesn’t get much better than that.
