Catcher Jake Landon’s career has him on the fast-track to the Hall of Fame. He’s successful, driven, and even though he’s nearing the end of his playing days, that competitive fire hasn’t been extinguished. Life is good. Really good.
But then the trade happens. He’s shipped off to the Dallas Longhorns, which not only means he’ll be starting over in a new city with a new team, but it means his … but it means his top secret relationship with Longhorns hitting coach Abby Gossman is in trouble. Big, deep trouble.
Abby has worked her entire life to get where she is now. The first female coach in MLB history, she’s struggled and sacrificed for the game. It’s her passion. Her life. Her family and her identity. And she’s not willing to give it up or risk it for anyone or anything. Not even Jake.
But their connection runs deep, and staying away from each other might just be impossible for Jake and Abby. With hearts and careers on the line, they’ll have to walk through the flames of their forbidden attraction and hope they don’t get burned.
Playing hardball was never this complicated.
This is an uber sexy standalone forbidden love romance with a guaranteed HEA and no cliffhanger. Happy reading!

Abby is the first female coach in the MLB and worked for The Dallas Longhorns. She had to work twice as hard to prove her worth and get respect. Jake was a veteran catcher for The Cincinnati Reds and he had been seeing Abby for about six months but it was a secret because of how it would affect everyone. Abby is in shock when Jake is traded to The Dallas Longhorns and she realised that she can’t continue to be with Jake. What will this do to there relationship and how will it all end for them and is this the wake up call that they both needed. Omg I love this series so much but I have to say that this book is my favourite so far. Abby and Jake’s story broke my heart with all the double standards that went on. With Abby and Jake’s love for each will they be able to stay away from each other as there connection and chemistry just gets stronger. Tara Wyatt is an amazing author and writer and her books are so addictive and page turner’s. I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will definitely not be disappointed.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy Of This Book.
Caught Looking is the third novel in the Dallas Longhorns Series. This story drew me in from the very beginning. It’s fast paced, and so entertaining. Jake is a catcher on a pro baseball team, and he know’s his days are numbered for being on the field. Anna has worked hard, to be working for a profession baseball team as a hitter coach. So when Jake and her start a relationship, they know they have to make sure to keep it a secret so it won’t destroy all she’s worked for. But will they be able to keep it a secret when Jake gets traded to her team? I really liked Jake and Abby, their back and forth, their steamy moments, and how much love they had for one another. Now onto the next book Moon Shot.

Caught Looking was the third book in Tara Wyatt’s Dallas Longhorn series.
Jake Landon was a professional baseball player who was on the backside of his career and was just traded to the Dallas Longhorns. Abby Gossman was the Longhorn’s hitting coach and the first female coach in the MLB. She had a hard and fast rule, she didn’t date players. She had worked hard to get where she was in her career and she was married to her job, players not allowed. However, unknown to the public, the two had a secret relationship. Jake wasn’t one of her players, so she was safe….until she wasn’t.
Wyatt opened the story with the foundation, then she took us through the push and pull between Jake and Abby and their new circumstances. Wyatt included baseball details highlighting the chase to the post season, which added depth. Wyatt also included the previous characters, Dylan/Maggie and Hunter/Marlowe, as central support characters in the storyline.
All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read that set the stage for the remainder of the series. Javier is up next in Moon Shot.
I think I was looking forward to this book the most and Tara definitely served with this one! I knew after the little details of Abby and Jake’s relationship in Wild Card that this was going to be an interesting one. But that first chapter was brutal! I swear my heart was splitting in two for these characters that I didn’t even fully know yet! And from then on I was completely invested in these two. I had to keep reading because I needed them to be together. And oh boy was their story one for the books!
Where Hunter was my favorite hero, I think Abby places first as my favorite heroine! And yes I said was about Hunter because Jake was pretty amazing too! When I was a little girl I always dreamed of playing in the MLB and reading this just brought me back to those years and gave me glimpses into an experience I could only imagine. I felt for Abby as if she was my best friend. I wanted to just reach out and hug her so many times throughout the book! It had me so emotional and on edge. These two were so amazing together and it broke my heart that there were obstacles to their happiness, but it made for a glorious HEA in the end!
Three books in and I am still so invested in this team. I need any and all books Tara will give us because I love these characters so much! I can’t wait for future installments and something tells me Javi and Aerin’s story in Moon Shot is sure to bring the heat!
Fantastic! From the beginning, there was something special between Jake and Abby but when they find themselves on the same team, they are forced apart. It’s completely heartbreaking (yes, the tears streaming kind) and something they each struggle with but they believe it’s the right decision career-wise. From there, the rollercoaster ride picks up lots of speed. When the truth comes out, hard decisions have to be made.
These two are hotter than ghost peppers when they’re together. I LOVED the “highlight reel” that Dylan and Hunter provided giving a seriously abridged synopsis of the first two books in the series. The ending was fitting for this couple but did require some blotting of the tear ducts. I just wished that Abby could’ve had one supportive family member – even a slightly distant relative – but in reality, too often that’s missing in people’s lives.
Accepting Their Fate As Soulmates –
Abby worked in a male dominated environment, which meant she had sacrificed everything in her life to get to the top, so she had to make sure her personal life was private. Jake was in a relationship with Abby, but obstacles and complicated circumstances, meant their relationship had to be secret. The stolen kisses, secret trysts and jealous moments, made me love this book and I couldn’t put it down, once I started reading it. I recommend you find a quiet corner, a cold drink to cool you down, a do not disturb sign and then relax for this amazing experience.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Jake and Abby. Abby and have met at an award ceremony and hit it off. But they have kept their relationship a secret. Jake plays for the Reds and she works for the Longhorns. But things get tricky when Jake is traded to the Longhorns at the deadline. The call off their relationship but it’s killing them. But true love prevails. A great HEA.

This book was amazing and I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. This was a great addition to the Dallas Longhorns series. Abby is the the first female pitching coach in the MLB and she want’s to make a name for herself and she has to keep her relationship with Jake a secret even though he is on a different baseball team. Jake is a catcher for the Cincinnati Reds and has a had a successful career but all that changes when he gets traded to Dallas Longhorns, which not only means he’ll be starting over in a new city with a new team, but it means his top secret relationship with Longhorns hitting coach Abby Gossman is in trouble. Can these two make there relationship work considering that they are now on the same baseball team? Read this book to find out what happens between these two and I don’t want to give to much away. I personally can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out.

Book 3 in the Dallas Longhorns series and it was a great addition to it. Loved reading this forbidden romance between Jake who is a player and Abby, the first female MLB coach. Jake and Abby had to work so hard to get their HEA. Abby had so much to lose if their relationship was out the open no matter how much she wanted to be with Jake. I was pulled into this story from page one. I couldn’t put it down. I had to know how it ended. Were they able to get their HEA or was it is still out of their reach because of their situation? This book is a perfect escape. Sports romances have always been one of my favorite tropes to read and this was no exception.
I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
this is the third book in this series and even though you dont necessarily have to read the others you will get a better picture on each character and those other mentioned. So we have Abby who is the Longhorns bat coach and she is an olympian winner, so basically she knows her stuff. Abby has been having a secretive affair with Jake because she is a woman in a mans field and feels like she wont get the respect that she worked for and deserves. Unfortunately for her Jake gets transferred to her team and now she has to break up with him because that is a no-no, however she loves Jake but pushes him away. Jake gets hurt and Abby decides she can’t be away from him she loves him to much. Javi who works with her has a crush on her but she doesn’t notice it and even when Jake mentions this she still doesn’t see it, he had to speak up for her to notice but she lets him down easy. And then boom there is a tape from an elevator showing her and Jake kissing and she is given the ultimatum leave him or keep her job, she keeps her job. Now I get that she worked hard for it, understandable but she could not continue to say she loved Jake so much if she was willing to let him go. I can’t accept that. Now Jake uh he is such a sweet heart and he did show how much he loved her, he put her first..love him
rcvd an ARC at no cost to author…voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
Wow just wow!! I dare you not just o fall in love with this book and series from Tara Wyatt! I love the storyline, I love the drama, I love the characters, I love the banter between the Jake and Abby. The chemistry is off the charts! I devoured this story. Hands down one of my top books by Tara Wyatt and of 2020. Epic humour, off the charts sexy, sweet moments and all the swoon you could want. The descriptions were perfect and really made the story come to life as you are reading. I just loved everything about this book!! What more could you ask for? Tara totally delivered and so much more. Really can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. A five star read you cannot deprive yourself of, so go grab your copy today!! Happy reading everyone!!
OMG, THIS SERIES. I still am not a fan of baseball, but of the Dallas Longhorns baseball romance series? Hell, yeah, I am!
Jake and Abby’s story has it all–a forbidden romance; a strong female lead who’s also a trailblazer in her professional life; a hero who respects her and her position at work, never expecting her to choose him over her job, because he knows what she’s done to get there and how much it means to her; and an epic romance for the ages. Seriously–these two. (insert happy sigh here)
If competence p0rn is your thing, then Abby is the heroine for you. Her love of the game and clear knowledge of her job is only one of the things that drew Jake to her originally, and that respect only increased when he was traded to her team and saw her in action–even as it meant their relationship had to end.
Or did it…? Will Abby have to choose between her job and Jake after all? Or will that choice be made for her? You’re going to have to read Caught Looking to find out for yourself, because I’m not going to ruin that pleasure for you 😉
This is the third book in the series, and it really could work as a standalone–but why do that to yourself? Read the first two too, because you’ll appreciate the advice Dylan and Hunter give Jake in this one all the more knowing exactly what they went through to gain their wisdom. Plus you’ll be that much more primed to read the next book, having seen so many examples of just how delicious the next book promises to be…
In other words, bring on Javi and Aerin’s story. I AM SO READY!
(Though, can I admit that my heart beat just a little bit faster when Jake pulled Abby into the storage closet at the auction to have his wicked way with her? The shelves inside were stacked with TOILET PAPER! It was all I could do not to squeal, “Oh! Grab me some, please!” Surely I’m not the only one? 😉 )
Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I loved this book. It’s book three in the Dallas Longhorn’s series. You don’t have to read the first two books to read this one, but I highly recommend them. They were both enjoyable reads. I really enjoy reading Tara Wyatt’s books. She has a way of pulling you into the story. I always have a hard time putting them down.
This is Jake and Abby’s story. Abby is the Longhorn’s batting coach. She’s worked hard to get to where she is in the MLB and doesn’t want to taint her career by being linking to a ball player. Jake is a player on another team. They meet during the off season and start dating. They keep their relationship quiet, so it doesn’t hurt Abby’s career. The season starts up and before long they’ve hitting the trade deadline. Next thing Abby knows Jake has been traded to the Longhorn’s. They only thing to do now is break up and try to move on but what happens when they care for each other too much and can’t stay away. Can they find a way to make it work without jeopardizing their careers?

Hands down, my favorite Tara Wyatt book.
Why?
A kick A female coach in the MLB who has to keep her relationship secret or ruin her hard won reputation. That’s Abby Gossman. Unapologetically good at her job. With an Olympic gold to boot.
And Jake Landon. He’s got his S together and wants to go public. He cares about Abby but respects her wishes.
Things go to S when he gets traded to her team.
And the number one no no?
Coaches don’t sleep with their players.
Ah, the turmoil!
Recommend.
Caught Looking is the third installment of Tara Wyatt’s Dallas Longhorns series. It’s a delightful continuation of said series, and features Abby, one of the Longhorns’ coaches.
Abby Gossman is the first female coach in the MLB, and is hyper aware of the spotlight that puts on her. She’s sacrificed everything for this opportunity, and is reluctant to let anything stand in her way. When she starts dating Jake Landon, a baseball player from another team, she insists on keeping things a secret. But her plans are thwarted when Jake is traded to her team. Abby knows that their relationship has to end… but ending things with the man that she loves will be harder than she realizes.
I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry between Abby and Jake, as well as the push-pull dynamic that they shared; however, I think that the back-and-forth got to be a little overwrought in places. While the conflict was valid, I had a difficult time accepting the idea that the two couldn’t be together, though I thought that Jake’s attitude and response to what Abby needed was refreshing and respectful. It’s always nice to read a hero that isn’t wholly self-oriented and who makes sacrifices for the heroine. And I also loved the portrayal of Dylan and Hunter in this story. It was a fun inclusion that makes me want to read the whole series again.
Fans of this series won’t be disappointed. And I’m already excited to read Javi’s story in book four.
