This was a fun and lighthearted twist on the Catwoman character. This was my first time reading a book from a villain’s perspective, and I suppose the old adage is true that even villains are the heroes of their own stories. Selina was an interesting character and the ending weaved so many elements that appeared throughout the book together seamlessly.
I love everything from Sarah J. Maas. I’d read her grocery list!
This is what Birds of Prey should have been about. The team up of Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy..
Not really a Catwoman fan however after reading SJM novel can say I’m obsessed! Such a good book loved every page
This is a good book that I think holds the power to connect with readers in darker places then most books do.
Obviously, anyone who knows me can tell you, I’m a Maas fanatic. But I will admit, I wanted to go into this without my “I love her work” heart eyes. And I did. Seeing that Maas has only ever written fantasy, I was a little unsure how she would handle a DC retelling.
It didn’t even take me 30 pages to know that she was going to rock this book.
I’m completely in awe of Maas’s ability to write such outstanding female protagonists. Just within the first chapter I felt connected to Selina. The storytelling is so compelling, it’s very difficult to set the book down. And I did try to set it down, because I wanted to make the book last a little while.
This book is told from two POVs: Selina Kyle and Luke Fox. The transition between POVs is handled really well, I never got lost or confused as to whose narrative I was following. And I completely loved both of their voices!
If you’ve read Maas before, you know she writes incredible side characters too. Catwoman: Soulstealer is no different. Ivy and Harley were AMAZING! I am living for that Merry Band of Misfits.
I really just loved this book. It honestly surprised me how much I enjoyed it.
Written by my favorite author and Sara has come through again. Great characters and excellent story building.May I suggest reading her Throne of Glass seriesor The Court of Thornes and Roses series. Both have really cool, strong female characters.
Not gonna lie, the only reason I read this book was because it was written by Sarah. I was pleasantly surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I’m not a huge DC comics fan or really any type of story like that, but I’m a SJM super fan so I will push through any book she reads. Only, I didn’t have to push through. It’s actually a good book. Not my favorite but one I’ll remember and maybe re-read someday.
I can’t even begin to describe how amazing this book was and how much I enjoyed it. From beginning to end, I was hooked and gobbled up the book as fast as I possibly could. The writing was phenomenal, the narration was spot on, and the overall story was nothing short of an incredible adventure. I’ll be carrying this story with me for a long time.
I’m not really a fan of comic books, or a lot of the DC characters, so this isn’t something i would typically read. I am, however, a big fan of Sarah J. Maas, and if I had a favorite DC character, it would be Catwoman.
With that said, I really enjoyed the story. The characters, and plot development were deep. The story itself, pretty fast paced. On the whole, the only way this book wasn’t my cup of tea is that the Batman world just isn’t how I would typically chose to spend my reading time, but it wasn’t time wasted.
A fun alternative to the Catwoman origin story. Full of fast paced action and entertaining character interactions. A must read for any Batman fans.
This was the story of Selina aka the Catwoman, she had a hard life and she is doing everything in order to protect the person she loves the most, but to achieve that ….she is willing to do anything.
In this book you’ll find action and friendship in Gotham City.
