“For some reason, these gentlemen have a taste for freckled redheads but that last unmarried Chadwick girl will stay unmarried, mark my words. She is simply the worst of them all.” – Viscountess Charlecote. All Catherine wants to do is look at the stars. Unfortunately, her Mama has better ideas. Being the last unmarried Chadwick sister means countless new bonnets, dresses, and meetings with … meetings with eligible gentlemen. Most young debutantes would relish such opportunities but not Catherine–marriage might suit her sisters but not her.
The arrival of the new and young-enough-to-be-eligible Marquis of Thornefield does not help matters. The matriarch of the Chadwick family is determined it is fate and he will surely fall for Catherine just like every other titled gentleman has for her sisters.
Thankfully he does not seem interested in her at all.
After all, who wants to be married to such a stern, disapproving man? She has better things to think about.
Like his strong arms, and his way with horses and his… No. Catherine is not interested in him one jot, and her mother–and apparently her sisters too–will certainly not change that.

So it is finally Catherine’s story, the most untamed one, the one wild, the one who speaks her mind and is not afraid to fight back.
Catherine was the free spirit of the five Chadwick sisters, she lives by night observing the stars and the night sky, she has little consideration for conveniences and rules.
But now that all her sisters are all married, she is her mother’s last project, which she tries to avoid at best as she can.
Thorne is back to the area, trying to rebuilt what his father’s sins have destroyed. But in trying to repair his family’s reputation, he lost himself a little in the process.
So it is the encounter of one too uptight person with one too bold, and how they will make things do despite their disparities.
« “I would make a terrible marchioness,” she blurted out. He smiled. “Yes, probably.” “I will still argue with you.” He nodded. “I would expect nothing less.” “And I will tell you when you are being an ass.” “What more could a man want from a wife?” »
Really Enjoyed character development and storyline!
This is the 4th novella in the Bluestocking Brides series and is about Catherine, the final unmarried sister. In the previous stories Catherine was the feisty sister who was not looking to get married. Of course fate has a way of pushing those thoughts to the side in the form of one eligible Marquis of Thornefield. Thorne knows he needs to marry and produce an heir but is jaded by all the less than desirable debutantes on the market. When he meets Catherine, sparks often fly and not always of the good sort. But as the story goes, things change and you will have to read to find out how the two eventually come together. Another delightful story by Samantha Holt!!

This is the fourth story in the series & one I’ve been waiting for & it didn’t disappoint, Catherine is no shrinking violet & is outspoken. Thorne, he hates his real name, knows he needs to marry & no way does he want to marry a simpering debutante. The pair get off to a rocky start but even then there’s a spark that gradually ignites. I’ve loved all of these short stories, the characters are delightful & the plot is straight forward but kept me reading & I read the book in two sessions. Lilith is charming & I hope she gets her HEA
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
