“Addison Cain’s writing blows me away each time!” NYT Bestselling author Anna Zaires My love for her is forbidden. When the princess was placed in my care, the devil ordered that I never show his daughter mercy, affection, or a gentle hand. To keep her safe from the denizens of our dark king’s Cathedral, Jade’s life as my ward has been pitiless. She despises me. Yet I am utterly, irrevocably in … has been pitiless. She despises me.
Yet I am utterly, irrevocably in love.
Infamous for my coldness, unquestioned in my fealty, the devil forgets that there are older, more terrible monsters in the dark—and I have sold my soul to the most ancient of evil so that Jade might one day be mine.
CATHERDRAL is a standalone novel in the Cradle of Darkness series culminating in an HEA. The horror prequel, Catacombs, will enrich the experience of this book but is not necessary.

Addison Cain is truly a master at writing dark romance. She is one of the best at writing romance into horror filled books. I can safely say that she is one of my favorite authors and I would gladly offer my soul if I could keep reading her work.
This is the continuation of Catacombs. Where you follow Peals daughter Jade as she tries to survive in the world of vampire politics. Her father Darius wants more daywalkers, so Jade has to spread her legs for whoever has curried favor each day, all the while spying on his political opponents. This is made harder because of her overwhelming/overprotective guardian Malcom, who does everything in his power to ensure her survival in a very harsh world.
I love that we get a more throughly picture of this hidden world. And it was really amazing following Jade as she grows as a person and ultimately makes her place in a very twisted world. This is really dark, depraved and full of gore and blood and only Addison Cain could make something as depraved as this into a sinfully arousing story.
All you can expect of the vampire book writen but this author!!!
Is dark, twisted and you can’t put it down.
I fell in love with Jaden and Malcom. I love the way he loves her !!!!
The story of this vampires is dark and cruel, they have cero humanity left and see humans as animals.
Jade’s father is the most sadistic and twisted character, I hated so much in Catacombs and so much more here to see all that he put his own it was so sad. I hated how impotent Jade was and loved to see her gaining her power and mind back.
I hope to read more about them in the future. And I want to see what happens to Pearl and Jade’s grandfather
Man, this book plays tricks with your mind and then some. A take off dark, twisted, craziness and so much steam that it’s going to make your head spin.
Can love exist in Hell?
I knew Addison Cain writes a great story, but let me tell you. This is the best book she has ever written. I don’t know where she comes up with plots she uses and the plot of this book is totally different from anything else I’ve ever read. She has you feeling sorry for the residents in hell and paints the true face of politicians and affluent people in the story. Keep writing please Addison!
This finish from a short story that was published in a anthology that left me hoping it see an HEA.
The story was tremendous in the misery of Jade’s life from her father. All she wanted was of her father, but he just evil and uncaring of Jade.
I was excited that I got finish the rest of Malcom and Jade’s tell to the end.
So dark, so sexy and absolutely wonderful! I couldnt put this down. Jades life is a series of demeaning, violent episodes. Orchestrated by her father. But in the background is Malcolm, loving Jade even though it is forbidden. Their story is not for the faint of heart. But you will be missing out on a fabulous story and beautiful, dark romance if you skip this book.
First let me state that that cliff hanger was enough to make me want to throw my phone! This book is not for everyone. Jade is a princess of the underworld but her father treats her horribly. She spends her days as a daylighter bringing the rich into office that will do what her father bids. Allow undocumented immigrants into the country, all so her father can have cattle. Humans are cattle.
Malcom has loved Jade since the day she was born. Soulmates. But her father erased things from her mind and planted hate for Malcom. He stood by her side never allowed to tell her his love for her. Things changed when Vladislov returns. He is a God among the ancients. And something is drawing him there.
If you read catacombs then things will make sense.
I recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The queen of darker than dark writing is back with a fang. I’ve been a follower of Addison’s writing for a while, I’m a fan of her omegaverse and I read one of her previous horror vampire novellas, Catacombs. Though interesting, Catacombs was convoluted and a bit of a mind fuck…which I had trouble putting together. I was confused. There is nothing confusing about Cathedral. We have our anti heroes Jade and Malcolm and villain Jade’s dad Darius. Jade is a day walker, a vampire that can tolerate the sun but is physically weaker than normal vampires. Malcolm…weeeeeelll is Malcolm (no spoiler :)), he has been taking care of Jade for years, looking out for her best interests and protecting her from others and herself. Darius, Jade’s murmurous, villainous, horrible dad had been torturing her almost from the moment she was born and seeks her to get pregnant with a new generation of day walkers…..he also forbids Malcolm from ever get closer to her (the why is a spoiler). Jade hates Malcolm, Malcolm loves Jade and Darius has done everything to keep them apart. But can love flourish in all this darkness and mind fuckery of deranged ancient vampires? That’s for me to know and for you to find out by reading the book 😉
Addison Cain has created a dark, debased world where even the predators of the night can be victims. One such victim is Jade, the daughter of Darius who is the current ruling vampire lord. You would think that she would be treasured as his offspring and the fact that she is day walker but no. She is a pawn used for political and business reasons by her father. In the shadows is Malcolm, the vampire who was chosen by her father to be her ‘guardian’ of sorts. He has secretly loved her since she was born and has been there as her selfish father put her in situations where she was physically and emotionally abused. Tragic. Even though Cathedral is an extremely dark and at times disturbing story, the further you get into the sordid tale and feel the devotion and intense love Malcolm has always felt for Jade, you wish for a HEA. Loved it!!!
If you read Catacombs you will already know Darius and his depravities. This story takes place a hundred years later in our time. If you have not rad Catacombs you will still be able to read this story without any problems.
This is a vampire story as only Addison Cain can do it. There are unique, broken, depraved and interesting characters and dark knights. A princess who lives in a glass cage filled with darkness, pain, sadness and confusion.
The Vampire world that Addison Cain has created is different than any other Vampire world I have read before. It is full of rich details and dark and twisted actions from start to finish.
I always try and highlight some of my favorites lines, but this book had so many I couldn’t choose. This book captivated me from the first page to the last and I was sorry to read the words “ The End’ even though the ending was very satisfactory.
So much better than I could have hoped. I came into this reading believing this would be a dark depraved read, but it was surprisingly uplifting. The darkness was there, but it was balanced with the incredibly intimate moments that make you love the characters that Addison Cain creates. You love them for the bad as much as for the good and it’s so satisfying.
Addison Cain is a Goddess when it comes to the dark and macabre.
Once again I spent my night devouring her new twisted tale of steamy vampires, violence, and manipulation. Every page had me craving the next and I couldn’t put it down.
Cathedral definitely has a way of making you question your morals and your deepest, darkest desires. Just the way I like it!
OMG!!! This book is crazy! Cain doesn’t disappoint! Like one of those mind f-ck kind of books!
You don’t want it to end even if the ending you’re given is perfection. There aren’t enough stars to even do this one justice.
If you’re a fan of Cain’s work then this is definitely up your alley. She goes above and beyond in the writing.
A must read and for sure in the top five favorite reads of the year!
