What I Thought Of This Book
Susan Holt brings this book that is fantasy into what we feel as readers as a realistic situation, it is surreal and captivating and you will definately have problems, like myself at putting this book down.
.
Susan Holt is a New Zealand Indie Author, who asked me in July 2017, to read this in an exchange for an honest review. I find Susan’s writing exhilarating, grip taking and she has a nature talent of endlessly drawing you in. The first sentence was enough for me “You have got to be kidding me.”
.
This book comes highly recommended by me, and will suit any fantasy readers, romance readers, anyone who enjoys suspense and the supernatural

What a delightful surprise! This story is not a roller coaster ride where you sit on the edge of your seat with anxiety but it grips you nonetheless. As the story moves along your heart will leap with joy and break for Beth.
The story is told from Beth’s point of view. Beth, a librarian, is a well developed character who is kind, outwardly friendly, assertive, and very personable. It was fun to meet all the different passengers who rode the tram with Beth. She has insecurities when it comes to relationships and how to properly navigate them – especially when it comes to a possible romantic interest. She is so relatable. I felt myself rooting for her and wishing I could bolster her when she was feeling apprehensive about her situation.
As the story progresses, it seems to be heading in a very ordinary direction – girl meets boy; girl likes boy; girl loses boy … but that’s just part of the story. About halfway through, the story takes an unexpected twist which turned everything you thought you knew on its ear and your off in a new direction but still on the same track – rooting for Beth and Isaac. Overall, this is a very enjoyable story which is well worth your time – highly recommend.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I saw the author was the narrator. Normally I am not a big fan of authors who decide to narrate their own books. Narrating is an art and when done well, it will enhance a story. I needn’t have worried. The author, Susan Holt, does a wonderful job. Her narration is expressive with the appropriate amount of emotional range. She has a slight accent from New Zealand which makes it all the more endearing. I felt that she embodied the voice of Beth as I had pictured her. There were no audio issues or extraneous noises.
