Settling down and starting a family is something Diesel has considered, regardless of his one-night stand reputation. However, he just might be single forever since who he wants is off-limits—his best friend’s little sister.
He’s been in love with her for years, but betraying his friendship could ruin everything.
Rowan Bishop is over men, especially after finding out her boyfriend cheated and … boyfriend cheated and left her heartbroken. After graduating from college, she’s back home and has to face the one guy who purposely gets under her skin—her older brother’s best friend.
She hates that she’s attracted to him, but she’s willing to fight for who she wants.
Spending time together is a bad idea, but neither can deny the chemistry sizzling between them. Late night talks turn into spontaneous adventures and just when Rowan’s willing to admit how she truly feels, Diesel’s past catches up with him and ruins their picture perfect romance.
One secret turns into another and before either can grasp their new reality, more truths unravel—threatening to expose their forbidden relationship.
Catching the Cowboy is a complete standalone and can be read without reading any of the other books or series, but if you prefer to read in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.

We get to follow Diesel in this story! Who does he have his eyes set on? At what age are Diesel and the young lady at the start of the story? Wow, the first part had my heart cracking in two for Rowan. At 30% of the way into the story, I realized I have not grinned and laughed so much at one of the stories in this series like I am with this one. Rowan keeps folks on their toes! Her comments/remarks/comebacks are EPIC!!!!! Oh goodness, this had me laughing to the very end!
Though when it comes to Rowan, I’m never joking. If she’d let me, I’d hang the moon for her. -Diesel
Diesel has had a crush on his best friend Rileys sister since they were kids. Riley has always made it known that his sister was off limits, but that didn’t keep Diesel from giving him constant crap about his sister. Even though Rowan was considered off limits, Diesel made it known to everyone in their small hometown Rowan was off limits to them. No one would ever be good enough for her in his mind, maybe not even him.
Rowan had a relationship end badly and after graduating college decided she was moving back to home to help with family bar. But returning home also means not being able to escape Diesel since he works on the ranch. She always kept her crush on him secret and she always was good at giving him crap. The last thing she expected when returning was the fireworks that happened between her and Diesel.
Just as soon as they start exploring their feelings while sneaking around, secrets come out. Secrets that could prevent Diesel from getting his forever with Rowan.
Catching the Cowboy is a forbidden Best Friends Sister romance. I can always trust that the Bishops will put a smile on my face and Catching the Cowboy didn’t disappoint!
good book
Love western novels
Loved it!!!can’t wait for the next one in the series.
Audiobook Review:
I really enjoyed this book. I love a good cowboy romance and Diesel more than fit the bill. I liked the brother’s best friend/best friend’s little sister aspect. But also liked that Diesel and Rowan had a cute unrequited love thing going on. Just not the way you’d normally expect.
There were a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunications in this story. Maybe a few instances that just talking right away could have avoided. But they owned it and moved forward. There was also a huge secret that rocked everything. When it came out in the story made things even more complicated. But the characters were really likable and had me invested in them. Diesel in particular I loved. Overall I enjoyed the storyline though. And I loved the narration. Both narrators did an amazing job and really enhanced my experience.
“Catching The Cowboy” is the second book in the “Circle B” Ranch series by Kennedy Fox. The story is based around Rowan, Alex and Riley’s daughter, and Diesel who is River’s (Rowen’s brother) best friend. A cowboy romance and best friend’s little sister thrown in? Sign me up.
Diesel has been in love with Rowan for years but doesn’t think he’s good enough for her. He’s a ranch hand at Circle B Ranch and Rowan is a college graduate. Convinced that he will never be good enough, he keeps his feeling hidden. Rowan has always had a crush on Diesel but after finding her boyfriend in college cheating on her, she’s sworn off men. However, the two cannot deny their chemistry and how attracted they are to each other. Diesel might be older and his best friend might kill him but sometimes fate doesn’t care.
The build up to them being together is intense and hot. Knowing each other their whole lives, it’s natural that they develop feelings. I love how natural those relationships are. He’s only a few years older than her so it’s nothing creepy or weird. And the plot twist that was thrown in was great. Kennedy Fox always keeps you guessing. I love to be a fly in the room when those two are plotting.
I was given a code to listen to the audiobook version for my honest review. I had read the ebook before and loved it. It’s even better in audio. Lia Langola uses her southern accent again and it’s perfect. Stephen Dexter is quickly becoming a favourite male narrator for me. A gruffly, Southern accent is always okay with me.
I absolutely adored this story!!! It was a fantastic read! This book can be read as a standalone but I was already in love with Diesel from reading the first book in the series. If you have read that one, you will get some extra enjoyment out of this one. I loved Diesel and Rowan together. Diesel is best friends with Riley, Rowan’s older brother. He has had a thing, and been in love with, her since they were in middle school. He has been looking out for her and riling her up ever since. Rowan seems to hate him and so the banter between the two of them is awesome! They are both so quick witted and fast with the comebacks. Diesel purposefully tries to make her mad because he’ll take whatever attention he can get. I love when Rowan finally starts to see him differently and the way that Diesel goes all in from the beginning but he also goes at a pace that Rowan is comfortable with, pushing it just far enough. I loved watching them figure things out. They keep it a secret at first as they settle in to being something together so there isn’t outside noise convincing them of anything else. I loved getting to see the female cousins on a closer level in this story as well. This was a fun read that had me engaged from beginning to end and wanting to keep going to figure out what was going to happen next. I loved Diesel’s antics so much. I am looking forward to the next book in the series for sure!
I loved listening to this story. The narrators were great with the different voices for the characters and definitely added another layer to the story. They did a great job with the subtle accents and emotions.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
4 stars for this story
Diesel and Rowan have been dancing around each other since they were young, but Rowan’s status as Diesel’s best friend Riley’s little sister prevented them from forming a relationship. When Rowan goes away to college, they are separated and were able to do some growing over the years. When Rowan comes back home from graduation with a broken heart, Diesel is there to pick up her spirits and make her feel good about herself. He flirts with her, teasing her, making sure she knows that he’s interested and the ball is in her court. As soon as they begin to start a relationship, a complication enters Diesel’s life which forces him to grow up quickly and be more responsible. I like this change in Diesel and his growth is apparent, although he still does have some growing to do. His communication skills could definitely use some improvement, and he has to learn to trust that Rowan will still be there for him despite any complications that might come their way. Rowan’s hesitant in starting a relationship with playboy Diesel, and she’s still recovering from a heartbreak. It takes her a while to warm up to Diesel and to trust. I didn’t like the Nick storyline as much, but I understand why he was there as a foil to Diesel.
5 stars for the narration
Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter narrated this book again, and they did a fabulous job as always. Well paced, sexy accent, and they truly brought the story to life.
Catching The Cowboy was another fun and sweet addition to the Circle B Ranch series. This best friend’s sister romance was filled with all the feels. Diesel and Rowan had great chemistry and the sexual tension between them were scorching. I loved their bickering and bantering which showed how natural their relationship was. I truly enjoyed this low angst small town romance. We had a glimpse of the premises of the next book and I cannot wait to see how it unfolds. Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola made it a very enjoyable listening experience!
I volunteered to provide an honest review of a complimentary audio copy of this book.
Catching the Cowboy is Diesel and Rowan’s story, after listening to Riley’s story I was charmed by Diesel’s cheeky guy attitude and wondering who would be the woman to tame his playboy ways. What I loved about this book was getting a different side to the Hero that I wasn’t expecting. 3 years on from the events of the last book Diesel is watching his best friend get married and start a family with the love of his life, while he looks on madly in love with his best friends little sister.
Rowan is the heroine and she is a feisty woman, she has grown up with Diesel and won’t stand for his immature behaviour, his teasing or his manwhore charm, even though she has feelings for him and has for many years. When these two get together the chemistry is clear to see, they just have a ease about their friendship and their connection. Rowan and Diesel start their relationship in secret, rolling in the hay and enjoying the time they can steal away, when something from Diesel’s past comes barrelling back into his life and changes everything.
I loved this twist to the story, it added the angsty edge I love from Kennedy Fox. It left me unsure of where the story was going to go, a certain unpredictability and that’s my favourite part of a good romance. The change in Diesel and how he handled everything made me love him even more, but at the same time my heart hurt for Rowan. The Circle B series is one that I will keep coming back to, it holds a small town feel and the excellent performances from Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter really brought Rowan and Diesel to life. The audiobook held emotions, longing, vulnerability and a determination to be a true gentleman who stands by his morals and Stephen’s performance reflected that beautifully for Diesels character. With the epilogue rounding things out nicely but bringing in hints for the next book, I am looking forward to returning back to Circle B ranch soon.
***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****
Catching the Cowboy by Kennedy Fox is another fabulous addition to this charming series. Seriously, this group of cowboys are so darn charming that no one single woman stands a chance against them. Diesel is one of those men that just knows who he wants and since he feels he can’t have the girl of his dreams; he warms the beds of women around town. The girl he wants just happens to be his best friends’ little sister, Rowan. Yup, some of my favorite romances since I have two older brothers and grew up dreaming of their friends! These two try to fight it for a while but the chemistry is strong. Why fight it?
Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola are just fantastic! Dexter pulls off this cowboy accent so perfectly… it’s like country meets alpha male and Dexter SELLS IT!!!! He was just a dream to listen too! Langola seemed to channel Rowan’s character. She pulled out all the stops with her feisty personality. I love it when narrators really seem to embrace their characters which is exactly what these narrators did.
If you read/listened to hitching the cowboy, you met Diesel already and I loved his character in that first story and was looking forward to his. You don’t have to have read the first book to enjoy this one but I loved it and Diesel in it. Diesel has been in love with his best friends little sister Rowan since they were children. They shared a sweet moment when they were younger but unfortunately not wanting to let his friend Riley know he denies it happened. Years later and Diesel is still working on the ranch and Rowan now done with college is moving back home to the ranch. For years he has picked on her just to get her attention but since she is coming home for good he is set on winning her for his own once and for all. Rowan is not looking to have anything to do with Diesel as he does nothing be irritate her as much as her brother does. I loved the chemistry and banter with these two. As they start to make a relationship, something from Diesel’s past may put an end to it. Really loved the narrators again they did a phenomenal job with these characters.
Diesel has loved Rowan since they were kids. He finally gets his chance and almost blows it. Cute story with loads of highs and lows.
The narrator keeps you engaged the entire time.
4.5 fabulous listening experience stars!
Catching The Cowboy is a beautifully well-writing western romance filled with secrets, adventure, love and more Bishop family members that will still your heart.
The story is expertly brought to life by the amazing performances of Stephen Dexter & Lia Langola. Diesel and Rowan’s sizzling chemistry is palpable, and their connection is contagious. Their banter is hilarious, fun and entertaining. I absolutely love Diesel awww.
This is a complete standalone and can be read without reading any of the other books or series, but if you prefer to read/listen in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.
When we met Rowan and Diesel in the previous book you just knew there was a story there, you could feel that they had chemistry between them. And especially when you read the prologue you know it was going to be a good one 🙂
Rowan is sassy, funny and she just got out of a relationship where her boyfriend cheated on her and now she is back home. Which is a good thing but also now she is face to face with her brother’s best friend Diesel whom she sort of has a hate-love relationship with. Both of them are attracted to each other, but Rowan is Diesel’s best friend’s little sister. And Rowan doesn’t know how her family will react after her disastrious previous relationship. And things like this always gets complicate… Right…
Oh man you will love this cute story. I loved Diesel. He was sweet, funny but also had a serious side to him. I loved that they had this teasing funny flirty banter between them. And even though no one took him serious he showed them just how serious he was about Rowan. I don’t read a lot of Cowboy stories but this series is so flippen good it just leaves you with this happy feeling when the book comes to an end.
I am really loving this series! I was very excited to read about Diesel & Rowan’s story, after listening to the first book in this series. Their story had such a build-up to it and was full of tension! The authors did a great job, teasing us with their love story!
Diesel is a former playboy, who slept around a LOT! Rowan is an all-around girl-next-door type. She has great girlfriends and has just come out of a horrible relationship. Diesel has been in love with Rowan since he was 15 years old. Rowan is younger than him and just so happens to be his best friend’s little sister. Riley, his best friend, has told him for years and years that he has to stay away from his little sister. This puts Diesel’s love for Rowan out of a possibility. The good news is, Diesel will do anything to make Rowan his!
One of my favorite things about this series is the side characters that we fall in love with. I hope this series is a LONG one because there are SO MANY new characters that I need their story. I can’t wait to continue on in this series.
I am loving this series.
After I listened to Hitching the Cowboy, I was dying for the audio release of Diesel’s story and I was not disappointed at all.
This story has the right amount of everything…. The angst, banter, hot sexy times and drama.
I love it when a hero is biding his time until he gets a chance with the love of his life. Diesel has been waiting for Rowan to notice him as anything that her annoying brother’s best friend.
The narration is perfection. Stephen Dexter is one of my favorites. He has that grumbly, sexy voice going on. And between he and Lia, it feels as though you are listening to the characters themselves tell it. There is no hint that they are reading you a story… you just feel it.
Kennedy Fox does have some of the best audio books that I’ve listened to.
Audio review
After having met Diesel in Hitching the Cowboy I couldn’t wait for his story.
I wasn’t disappointed when through all sorts of trials and tribulations, Diesel and his best friend’s sister Rowan find their way to happily ever after.
This is a feel good series that Lia Longola and Stephen Dexter bring to life making this an easy way to spend a few hours with some laugh out loud moments along the way.
4.5*
Having recently caught up with the Circle B Ranch world, I was a whole lot of excited to dive into Diesel’s story. Him and Rowan have grown up together (Diesel is best friends with Rowan’s brother from book 1) and Diesel has been in love with Rowan practically his whole life.
The longing in this (even given the twist and that neither of them is exactly chaste before they get together) is on point. I love a siblings best friend story, but what I love more is when the male has been in love with and longing for the woman. My heart. It has life.
Kennedy Fox are outstanding writers. They gave me exactly what I wanted.
Cowboys. Check
Tonnes of family members ribbing on each other. Check
Small town dynamic. Check
Funny moments. Check
Angst but not to heavy? CHECKMATE
I cannot wait for book 3. If I could live in a book world, I think I might just choose the Bishop World. If for nothing else, all that food.
