Settling down and starting a family is something Diesel has considered, regardless of his one-night stand reputation. However, he just might be single forever since who he wants is off-limits—his best friend’s little sister.
He’s been in love with her for years, but betraying his friendship could ruin everything.
Rowan Bishop is over men, especially after finding out her boyfriend cheated and … boyfriend cheated and left her heartbroken. After graduating from college, she’s back home and has to face the one guy who purposely gets under her skin—her older brother’s best friend.
She hates that she’s attracted to him, but she’s willing to fight for who she wants.
Spending time together is a bad idea, but neither can deny the chemistry sizzling between them. Late night talks turn into spontaneous adventures and just when Rowan’s willing to admit how she truly feels, Diesel’s past catches up with him and ruins their picture perfect romance.
One secret turns into another and before either can grasp their new reality, more truths unravel—threatening to expose their forbidden relationship.
Catching the Cowboy is a complete standalone and can be read without reading any of the other books or series, but if you prefer to read in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.

Diesel doesn’t remember a time that he wasn’t attracted to his best friend’s sister Rowan but instead of telling her how he felt he made it his mission to do whatever he could to get her attention. Now that she is back home, he is determined that things will be different and that means convincing her that the only place she belongs is with him.
Rowan has finished college and returned home to help out her family, but she isn’t looking for another relationship after being betrayed by her ex. The only problem is that instead of him being an annoying jerk he is sexy cowboy who has her wondering what if.
Diesel is the perfect combination of sweet and sexy while Rowan is feisty and fiery and interactions between them are both humorous and hot. Although their journey has its obstacles it only made their love and their relationship that much stronger. The narrators were a great choice for the characters and their flirty banter was perfect.
Gahhhh! I knew I was going to love this one! While listening to Hitching the Cowboy I got to hear some interactions between Rowan and Diesel and I just KNEW I was going to love their story! My heart!!! These 2 took me on a journey! I am a total sucker for the “brother’s best friend” story. And this one did not disappoint. They were HOT…. SO HOT! And they even made me cry. I knew early on what the conflict in the story would be (besides the obvious brother being mad)…. but it was still written in a way that it tore my heart to pieces! Diesel is super swoon worthy! While he puts on the arrogant act really well…. he says some of the swooniest things to Rowan! And I just feel in love with him! Definitely worthy of 5 swoony stars!!!
The Bishop family is one of my favorites! Catching the Cowboy is a slow burn, brother’s best friend romance that’ll run you through a gambit of emotions. Kennedy Fox brings us back to the amazing Circle B Ranch and the Bishop clan we all adore! With the perfect blend of family drama, witty humor and romance, you won’t be able to put the book down until the end. I listened to the audiobook and admittedly threw my earbud twice, but always came right back to the story (I have no patience for stubborn men, lol.) The last few chapters will have you immediately wanting to dive into Wrangling the Cowboy to see what happens with Maize and Gavin next. Don’t miss out on this wonderful addition to the series, as it brings back some of the Bishop characters that I can’t get enough of!!!
Catching the Cowboy
Circle B Ranch, Book 2
By: Kennedy Fox
Narrated by: Stephen Dexter, Lia Langola
Series: Circle B Ranch, Book 2
I cannot get enough of Kennedy Fox! Every series is amazing, and I am falling in love with every one of these cowboys! This one features Diesel, who has been in love with Rowan Bishop since he was a freshman in high school. You cannot get anymore romantic than that! Now adults, Rowan is due to come home from graduating college, and her track record with dating has not been good. Rowan despises secrets and cheating. When Diesel makes his move though, the fire is ignites and the passion is high. But there is a hitch. Rowan is his best friend’s sister and now they have to keep it quiet! Riley will not be happy. With a twist that can break the relationship even without Riley’s blessing, we are kept on edge. Will they find their happily ever after? It’s so much fun seeing Riley again, and this family is one you just feel at home with. Rowan is a little frustrating at times, but she is definitely a good fit for Diesel. And Diesel just melts my heart. Fun, flirty and exciting, this book will make your heart sing and leave you wanting to visit the Circle B Ranch again!
Stephen Dexter comes out to narrate Diesel, and he literally becomes the character. You can hear it all in his voice. The love, disbelief, perseverance and passion, it’s all there for the listening. Lia Langola comes in as Rowan, strong willed, hesitant and I love Langola’s ability to let us feel with her nuances. Fantastically cast, you will love the narration of this wonderful book.

Fantastic Story & Narration A Captivating Delight!
Catching the Cowboy
Circle B Ranch, Book 2
By: Kennedy Fox
Narrated by: Stephen Dexter, Lia Langola
Kennedy Fox delivers another fabulous novel in their “Circle B Ranch” series, it is a wonderful “off-limits” romance. The story is well written, it grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. It was so easy to get lost in this story, I adored the characters, they are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Finished with college and her boyfriend Rowan Bishop is back home on the ranch and is working for the family business. She had the biggest crush on Adam, aka Diesel or the “Big D” when she was kid, until he crushed her heart. Diesel is happy to see her home, she is the one he could never have but is determined to change that. After playing the field he know he want no other, only Rowan, it has always been her for him. Many obstacles stand in his way including Rowan as well as her family, especially her brother Riley who always warned him to stay away from her. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted with the perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt and emotional moments, some surprises and hot romance. It is entertaining and enjoyable and will definitely leave you smiling. Kennedy Fox, thank you for another fantastic story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the audible edition, Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter are fabulously talented narrators and voice artists. They continue to bring these characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, Stephen Dexter’s Diesel was the perfect cowboy, alpha, cocky with a whole lot of heart. Lia Langola’s Rowan was perfection too, feisty, strong with the right amount of emotion. They handled the witty banter and dialogue with ease and landed the humor without missing a beat. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
Diesel has been in love with his best friends little sister Rowan since he was a kid. They both were each others first kiss, and then she ended up hating him. When she finally returns to the ranch after finishing college he is determined to change her mind about him and show how much he has been in love with her.
NO SPOILERS!
I absolutely loved Diesel and Rowan’s story in Catching the Cowboy! The storyline and characters were amazing, and I loved being back in Texas with the Bishop family and all of their friends.
I loved the storyline Kennedy Fox created for Diesel and Rowan’s sweet, sexy, charming, funny, and super swoon-worthy best friend’s sister/brother’s best friend small-town romance. The plot was very entertaining and I loved that it was fairly low angst. I loved everything about Catching the Cowboy and was ecstatic with the conclusion to Diesel and Rowan’s story.
The characters were phenomenal. I loved Diesel and Rowan so much, and their story has been my favorite of the Circle B Ranch series so far. I loved their personalities and smoking hot chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I also loved Diesel and Rowan’s banter and interactions with each other. Diesel was incredibly swoon-worthy, and I adored him with all my heart. Rowan was one lucky woman, and I was definitely jealous, LOL. The secondary characters were a fantastic addition as well, and made everything more entertaining.
Catching the Cowboy was a MUST READ standalone contemporary romance from the seriously talented author duo, Kennedy Fox, and I would highly recommend Diesel and Rowan’s best friend’s sister/brother’s best friend romance! Kennedy Fox has created something incredibly special with the Circle B Ranch series and all of their other small-town romances based in Texas, and I can’t wait to read the next standalone, Wrangling the Cowboy!
I adore me some cowboy romance and Kennedy Fox doesn’t disappoint. I absolutely loved all the banter between Diesel and Rowan. It was sweet and spicy and just right! This is definitely one of my favorite series ever! I don’t want this series to end!!
5 Finally Admitting Their Feelings Stars!!!
This story is one of my very favorite tropes; best-friends little sister. Add in the fact it’s in one of my favorite series by Kennedy Fox and I’m a very happy camper! Diesel and Rowan were destined to be together even if one of them wouldn’t admit it to themselves for the longest time.
Their bickering when they were growing up was a freaking hoot! How others couldn’t see that this was basically foreplay for them is astounding!! Even when he was young Diesel was quite a romantic at heart with the way he cared for Rowan silently in the background of their lives. He can be quite the charmer though when it’s called for!
Just when things were getting started for them because Rowan has come home after college, there’s a huge surprise for this pair and the way they deal with it speaks volumes about how strong their love really is. I adored how swoony they were with each other and they’re chemistry is H.O.T.!!!
This book brings us back into the Circle B Ranch family and I for one am so happy to be back again and oh my goodness, based on the ending Maize’s book is going to be a great read!!!
Oh lord Diesel is so my man!! I love his funny, outgoing, friendly, loving personality!! And I just want to eat him up like a plate of biscuits and gravy. And I knew he would have that sweet romantic side to him. And the protective Alpha bit always gets me and he knows how to pull it off and still let his woman be as Sassy and bold as she wants to be. And that is all Rowan, she is one tough woman and knows how to dish out what she gets. And she speaks her mind with no filter and I love it. I have been waiting on Diesel’s book for a bit because I have loved his joking personality from the very beginning and I just fell more in love with him than I even thought possible!!! If you haven’t read the Circle B series you are missing out on some of the sexiest cowboys you will ever fantasize about. So I recommend you get on this right now!!! 5 stars doesn’t do this book justice!! – By Tina
I really enjoyed reading Catching the Cowboy, a romantic comedy by Kennedy Fox. It’s the story about a cowboy named Adam “Diesel” Hayes, and a manager of her uncle’s bar, Rowan Bishop. Rowan is the younger sister of Diesel’s best friend, Riley. Diesel works and lives on the Bishop Family’s ranch. Diesel has been in love with Rowan since they were kids, and even shared their first kiss together, when Diesel was 14 and Rowan was 13. Their story has many twists and turns that I don’t want to give away, and I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a fun romantic comedy!
The Bishop Kids are Back! This forbidden best friend’s little sister romance was sexy, funny, and addicting. I was looking forward to Diesel and Rowan’s story since Hitching the Cowboy and it was everything I hoped for. Who wouldn’t wait to sneak around in the barn with Diesel?
Just when you thought you knew how this book was going to go, turn the page and there was a surprise. I loved getting updates on all the Bishop kids and can’t wait to see what is going to happen next with John’s kids.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…. Kennedy Fox rocks at writing sexy cowboy romances! I can’t get enough!!!
About Catching The Cowboy:
Catching The Cowboy is the second book in the Circle B Ranch Series by Kennedy Fox. This series is a spin off to the Bishop Brothers series. Let’s call it a next generation spin off. Now it’s time for Rowan Bishop to open her eyes and finally find love!
Adam ‘Diesel’ Hayes found his one and only love while standing in the middle of a dance floor with a middle school Rowan in his arms. He shared his first kiss with her that night, right before everything went to hell in a hand basket. You see, Rowan is Riley’s little sister, and the only rule Riley has for his best friend is never even think about touching his sister.
Diesel can’t fight his feelings anymore. He’s tried and he’s failed on multiple accounts. Now comes the hardest challenge he’s going to ever face in his life, the challenge of getting Rowan to see who Diesel truly is and not the playboy persona he puts on for a show.
When a secret surfaces, Diesel is about to realize getting Rowan to acknowledge her true feelings is only the half the battle. Now he’s forced with having to gain Rowan’s trust back also.
My Thoughts:
I can’t get enough of the Circle B Ranch series! With every book I read, my heart falls deeper for these Bishop kids. If you love cowboy romances, you all are in for a treat!!!
This Brother’s Best Friend romance was everything I envisioned it being. The endless back and forth banter was the funniest thing ever and I loved the fact that once they formed that romantic connection, Diesel and Rowan never lost that banter.
Diesel wasn’t as bad ass as I pictured him being, but I’m not complaining at all. I loved this man’s personality as it is. I loved the fact that he was such a sarcastic jokester. Always saying things to piss Riley off was my absolute favorite moments. It has to be awkward for a brother to watch his best friend fall of his little sister. Definitely awkward.
Rowan was a spitfire, true to the word! I loved her feisty attitude. But beneath the fiesty exterior was a soft and bruised interior. Due to her recent failed relationship Rowan has sworn off falling in love for a long long time. And you can’t help but blame the woman for feeling like all men are scum. My heart swooned when Diesel made his move. And it swooned throughout the whole damn novel after. I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved this couple!
I decided to rate this novel a four star due to the fact that I felt, towards the end, the novel became to fast paced. I wanted more from these two. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye! However, I am thrilled with who’s story is up next in the Circle B Ranch series! I have a feeling this next novel is going to be filled with loads of DRAMA!!!! Bring It On!!!

Kennedy Fox I wouldn’t mind catching me a Cowboy like Diesel!!
Diesel knows what and who he wants….for like ever. He is willing to wait until Rowan sees him as the man he has grown to be. Rowan thinks Diesel is just being an annoying older brother and can’t see past that. I definitely recommend taking their journey with them! I loved it!
Every time I read about the Bishop family I fall in love and cm not wait for the next one!
„One of these days, Rowan Bishop will notice me as more than a nuisance or her brother’s best friend.”
I love Circle B Ranch, my beloved Bishops and their adventures. As soon as I finished Hitching the Cowboy, I was eagerly waiting for Diesel and Rowan’s book and I knew I was going to have fun with these two. And Kennedy Fox did not disappoint! Catching the Cowboy is full of banter, sexual tension and swoon-worthy moments. It’s a perfect brother’s best friend romance, full of southern charm and teasing and that’s what makes this book super cute.
I loved to see that Diesel is more than just a laid-back playboy we met earlier. He’s romantic, flirting and protective. He’s also funny and playful. I admired his patience and persistence when it comes to Rowan. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was his tendency to downplaying. There are situations in life that require an immediate response and sometimes Diesel didn’t show concern for other people’s feelings. But even with this imperfection he’s a great character.
Rowan is a girl that can take care of herself. She’s sassy, feisty and she doesn’t let anyone to mess with her. But she’s also sweet and tender-hearted. She’s a real Ranch girl, who isn’t scared of hard work and getting dirty.
Ohhh, and dirty they got! The chemistry between Rowan and Diesel was sizzling! I loved their sneaking around and the growing sexual tension. And just when I thought that all the walls are down, Kennedy Fox served such a plot twist that I almost choked on my coffee.
If you’re looking for a swoon-worthy romance with low level of angst, then this is a book for you. Catching the Cowboy is a great brother’s best friend story, filled with charm and witty banter. This story beautifully shows the life on the ranch and the dynamics in the Bishop crew, who are one of my beloved fictional families. It’s also filled with sexappeal and emotions, and all of this is dressed in Daisy Dukes and cowboy hat. Recommended!
“… My heart is yours. Always has been. I was just waiting for you to catch me.”
Gah! Super swoon.
Diesel and Rowan are so sweet.
From childhood friends, to frenemies, then to lovers.
This book is such a delicious slow burn, full of longing and undeniable chemistry.
A MUST READ story! Already looking forward to the next one
Audio Review:
Diesel and Rowan were a delight to read.
But, the way Stephen and Lia brought it to life has me falling in love with them all over again. FANTASTIC NARRATION.
Sexy, sweet, hilarious and shockingly swoony. Diesel is just the best!
5 Star review Catching The Cowboy (Circle B Ranch #2) by Kennedy Fox
AUDIO REVIEW:
Narrated by Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter, this is Rowan Bishop and Adam (aka Diesel aka Big D)’s story and I was drawn in from the start. Their performances were spot on and really brought the characters to life for me.
Diesel has been in love with Rowan for years, but knowing he isn’t good enough for her he has never told her. Complicating matters is that he is her brother Riley’s best friend. Diesel has a reputation as a love them and leave them kind of guy. After finding her boyfriend has cheated on her Rowan has returned home to the family ranch and in her face is the one man who has always gotten under her skin, Diesel.
The chemistry that sizzles between them is impossible to ignore, so what will happen when they finally cross the line? Will Diesel finally go after the woman he has wanted for so many years? Will he put his friendship with Riley at risk for a chance with Rowan?
Finally deciding that it’s their time to take a chance on a relationship with one another all appears to be going well until life throws them a rather large curve ball. I really loved Rowan and Diesel together, the banter was witty and they really suited one another.
Catching The Cowboy is well written and you will be drawn in by the story that Kennedy Fox weaves.
Wow! Adam “Diesel” Hayes is a fantastic male specimen!!!
The way he held a torch for Rowan all those years!!
How he would joke with Riley but really meant every word!!
The way he planned their whole future out while she wouldn’t even give him the time of day!!!
The way he never gave up on her!! Or let her give up on him!!!!
All I can say is wow!!
Nice easy read if you don’t mind a wishy washy main character.
Rowan and Diesel have had a crush on each other for as long as they can remember but because of Riley, Rowan’s brother and Diesel’s best friend they never act on it. Now that Rowan has graduated from college and moved back to the ranch, Diesel is going to make his move. But Rowan is feisty and hesitant. But he breaks her down eventually and they agree to see where things go but Diesel’s past and secrets threaten to ruin what they have found with each other.
I made the mistake of reading spoilers on this one so I had an idea of what was coming. I still really enjoyed the story and thankfully some of the spoilers were wrong – like way off base. Diesel and Rowan were hilarious. I was chuckling or laughing for a good chunk of this book. I loved how blunt Diesel was and no one believed a word he said when it was all truth. I loved how feisty and sassy Rowan was. But I also loved how vulnerable they both were when it came to each other. It was so endearing and sweet. I adored this book so much. Highly recommend.
