Settling down and starting a family is something Diesel has considered, regardless of his one-night stand reputation. However, he just might be single forever since who he wants is off-limits—his best friend’s little sister.
He’s been in love with her for years, but betraying his friendship could ruin everything.
Rowan Bishop is over men, especially after finding out her boyfriend cheated and … boyfriend cheated and left her heartbroken. After graduating from college, she’s back home and has to face the one guy who purposely gets under her skin—her older brother’s best friend.
She hates that she’s attracted to him, but she’s willing to fight for who she wants.
Spending time together is a bad idea, but neither can deny the chemistry sizzling between them. Late night talks turn into spontaneous adventures and just when Rowan’s willing to admit how she truly feels, Diesel’s past catches up with him and ruins their picture perfect romance.
One secret turns into another and before either can grasp their new reality, more truths unravel—threatening to expose their forbidden relationship.
Catching the Cowboy is a complete standalone and can be read without reading any of the other books or series, but if you prefer to read in order, start with Hitching the Cowboy as the characters and families do interconnect.

I have read almost all of Kennedy Fox’s books. I am going to say right off the bat this one is my favorite. It was a touching storyline with three amazing characters who put aside their differences for one little boy. This was a very well written storyline that was touching, funny at times and page turning. I absolutely loved Diesel and Rowan. These two have known each other forever. They have picked on each other since they were little. But for Diesel something changed the night he came to pick her up from her dance at school. He held on to those feelings until she can back from college. But does Rowan feel the same? Once she is back home things seem to pick up where they left off. They still pick on each other. But Diesel wants more. But once he gets more from Rowan someone from his pasts gives him information that will forever change his life. Will it also mean losing Rowan? This was a very touching storyline. I loved the parts with Diesel and Rowan when it comes to them exploring their relationship. He truly shows her that he wants more from her. Rowan is dealt a tough hand when she learns the truth about what is going on with Diesel but I absolutely love how she handles it. Kennedy Fox did an amazing job writing this one. I cant wait to read more. One of my favorite from Kennedy Fox.
I love these country boy books and this one did not disappoint! Diesel is swoon worthy and I loved how he always knew he would get the girl. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer so the last couple of chapters didn’t feel like they were rushed. This is a must read (just like all the other books they write!)
Kennedy Fox has done it again!!! This book was beyond amazing.
Diesel is your typical manw**** but has actually been saving himself for one person. Even though he is this way he has a true sweetness about him and is a true Alpha male when needed. We first meet him in Hitching the Cowboy because he is Riley Bishops best friend and know that he likes to clown around.
Rowan Bishop is an independent woman, who just finished college. She is now home and in the process of taking over the books for the family bar. She has had her heart ripped out and isn’t sure if he is ready for anything new. When Diesel makes it known how he feels will Rowan be able to take him seriously or will she brush it off?
Rowan and Diesel have always picked/harassed each other. Even though Diesel was actually trying to get his feelings across he never wanted to over step because of his friendship with Riley. Rowan thought of Diesel as another annoying older brother, however these feelings start to change when she really gets to know more about him. Will they be able to overcome many bumps in the road to have a forever they have come to dream about?
The twist in this book really had my heart hurting for both Rowan and Diesel. At a couple of points I really wanted to reach in and smack them both because: “hello communication is KEY!” After, everything though this book had an amazing ending and all was good at the Circle B Ranch.
I can’t wait for Maize’s book!
This is the first book I have read in this series. My guess is that each book can be read as a standalone. I had no problem keeping up with the storyline. I had more of a problem keeping up with the aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Diesel and Rowan were great verbal sparring partners through most of the book. They had really good chemistry and kept the storyline moving along at a pretty fast pace.
Then, when Diesel’s past drops in to throw a wrench in his future plans, things get interesting. I liked how the writers pulled things together.
Ultimately, Diesel and Rowan reach their HEA. I look forward to reading the first book in the Circle B Ranch series as well as other Kennedy Fox books.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from the author.
Catching the Cowboy was phenomenal! Being back at Circle B Ranch was so refreshing! Diesel and Rowan’s story was way more than I expected! I loved reading every second of it! If you love small town romances with best friends little sister, this is your book! Returning to Circle B Ranch, and getting to catch up on my favorite book family was incredible! The Kennedy Fox ladies always deliver with each story! Diesel and Rowan’s chemistry is something fierce! The banter between both characters was my favorite! Truly original in the plot and their HEA! I know I’ll always have a new book boyfriend reading a Kennedy Fox story!
Time to head back to the ranch…this time for Diesel and Rowan. These two had me feeling all sorts of emotions and I loved every single moment of it!
I honestly didn’t think I would love Diesel as much as I did. If you reading Hitching the Cowboy, he was a total playboy, kind of cocky attitude. He really surprised me. There is so much more to Diesel than what you get on the outside. I loved this side of him so much. He quickly become one of my favorite Kennedy Fox heroes. I also loved Rowan. She was the perfect mix of sassy and sweet. She has that southern charm but also full of sass and doesn’t have any problems showing it.
I loved the banter between Diesel and Rowan. Those two could get under each other’s skin like there is no tomorrow. They both gave as good as they got. I loved their relationship in general. It was playful, caring, loving, and adorable. Their story had me laughing, crying and fanning myself from the very first page to the very last.
Catching the Cowboy is the perfect escape. Get ready to saddle up and head back to the Circle B Ranch for Diesel and Rowan and the rest of the Bishop family.
A first kiss that was going to be epic until Rowan’s brother, Riley, interrupts it causing Diesel to deny he even kissed Rowan. This creates a contentious relationship between Diesel and Rowan because she is hurt through these events. I love how these two push each other’s buttons. When Rowan moves back home after college, Diesel knows that it’s now or never to claim his woman since he has been in love with Rowan for years. But everyone sees him as a player, can he convince Rowan that he is truly the long-term guy she’s been looking for. Rowan moves home after a crushing break-up so her trust in men is extremely low. When Diesel defends her, it’s as if her eyes are opened for the first time. Maybe there is something more going on, other than the snarky banter that they engage in. I was swept away into this journey of love for Diesel and Rowan. Neither one made this easy. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I absolutely loved this. This isn’t my first novel from Kennedy Fox and surely won’t be my last. This was just what I needed to get out of my current book funk.
What’s not to love about the Bishop Family, we learn more about them in the first series.(Truly a must read series)
This story is about Diesel and Rowan.
Rowan has always been off limits to Diesel, considering Diesel and Rowan’s brother are best friends, but what the heart wants the heart gets. I truly loved the telling of their romance. It had ups and downs just like any couple.
I can’t wait to read more from this amazing series.
Adam Hayes, or Diesel, is The Cowboy in this story who had secretly liked his best friend’s younger sister for years but that went against the ‘Bro code’. That is until Rowan graduates from college and moves back home then all bets are off the table.
I really enjoyed the very detailed descriptions about the characters and the scenes but also some fun vocabulary top, for example… “voluntold” I explains clearly with only one word instead of many.
At first, I wasn’t so sure about the title but, yep, it is very apt after all. There is quite a bit of going back and forth in the story over q number of years although it does make sense, at times things were a tiny bit repetitive though I found.
The intimate scenes are red hot and extremely passionate. There is quite a bit of fun banter between the characters, the lead characters especially. Even though there are some more serious elements in the background of this story the overwhelming theme is one of lighthearted romance and family time.
What a LOL, deliciously hawt, enemies/friends to lovers romance that will melt your heart, having you do belly laughs, make you mad and have you crying with all of the antics that goes on with these 2 and falling in love…Loved it!!
I really enjoyed this author’s roommates duet series, and who doesn’t love a cowboy, so I thought this was a no brainer, and I was so right. This is the first of this series that I’ve read and really liked it. I honestly think I might like these more because they are single books, part of a series, yet standalone.
There’s so much history between Diesel and Rowan, she’s known him all her life, he’s watched and protected her most of his. Rowan is strong, independent and feisty. Diesel is her brothers best friend and knows all the buttons to push with her. Their back and forth is absolutely hilarious. Though when need be, Diesel can definitely pull out all the stops. This story is full of moments that will make you laugh but it also gives you plenty of feels.
I loved this story from beginning to end! the characters we funny, sweet and sexy, I wasn’t expecting that twist, but Kennedy Fox is amazing with twists and turns! another great story!
Oh lord Diesel has stolen my heart from all the Bishop men! I could not get enough of the banter with Rowan and the smart remarks he threw at Riley had me cracking up! That dance…SWOON so adorable! The chemistry between Rowan and Diesel will set your kindle on fire…so hot! When Diesel’s past comes back to bite him in the butt my heart literally broke for Row….like tears stinging my eyes. All I thought was this girl can’t catch a break! Gah! Diesel’s words pulled my heartstrings. A definite MUST read from this AMAZING DUO!!!!
This book is amazing!! I loved the chemistry and banter between the characters. This has to be my favorite book by KF!!
I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait for more to come….
A secret worth keeping that will not leave you disappointed!!
If you’re looking for a forbidden romance between a best friend and best friends sibling, then look no further. This book will captivate you from the very beginning and leave you lusting for more. It will definitely have your emotions all in a twist with surprises but more than anything, it will leave you with a HUGE smile on your face.
Diesel is Riley’s best friend and he’s been in love with Riley’s sister, Rowan, since they were kids. He has stopped at nothing to make it known how he feels about her even if it’s picking on her like little kids when they like each other. Of course big brother has warned Diesel off her so he won’t take a chance at ruining a friendship with his best friend but bides he’s time until he can make her his.
Rowan has recently finished college, moved back home to help run some of the family businesses, and recently became single since catching her cheating boyfriend. She has always kept Diesel on his toes with all the ribbing between them and is shocked when she finds out how he really feels about her.
These two have a chemistry like no other. Diesel may be your hard working cowboy but he is also thoughtful and a romantic while Rowan is your sassy, independent woman who doesn’t know if she can trust men anymore. Will she give in to the temptation and fall for the Cowboy and their secret or let her trust issues get in the way of her dream life?
Kennedy Fox has finally answered all of my questions about Diesel and Rowan and their feelings for each other. I love this couple, and their back and forth sparring was hilarious, which set the stage for their romantic journey. It was obvious that Diesel had always been crazy about Rowan, but she wanted nothing to do with him. He was strictly in the friend zone, which made his job even harder. They had grown up together and Rowan’s brother Riley was constantly warning Diesel to keep his hands off his sister. Diesel was funny, hardworking and a good friend, so I was surprised that Riley felt this way about him. I love Diesel because he knows what he wants, was very romantic when it came to Rowan and was determined not to fail at his quest for her love. His feelings for her came from his heart, and it was fun to see how their relationship progressed. Rowan was smart, independent and eager to learn all she could about the family business now that she had graduated from college. I like her feistiness, the enthusiasm she had about her new job and the happiness she felt when she spent time with her cousins. The importance of family is evident in all of the Kennedy Fox books and I enjoy reading about the younger generation of the Bishop family. I love all the Bishop couples, but Diesel and Rowan made me smile the most, made me laugh and made me believe that true love does exist.
This was a wonderful story about enemies turn lover, best friend’s little sister cowboy romance. It was well written in describing characters, their interactions, and the scenes/ backgrounds around them. Both characters love of family really showed thru the writing. There was angst throughout the book which I loved and even a little tease of what is to come in the next installment of Circle B ranch series. It was a definite need to read cowboy romance.
5 STARS yeeee-haw
Another book that gives us an insite into the new Bishop generation! I feel like I’m another member of this family watching from outside.
All the way through this book I was rooting for Diesel and Rowan, but it’s a bit of a bumpy ride!
Another fantastic book by Kennedy Fox.
If you love reading about muscley sweaty cowboys and a friends to lovers romance this book is for you!
I wish this place was real, I would love to watch the Bishop boys whilst eating a mouth watering breakfast!
It is always fun to go back to the Circle B Ranch to read about the characters. I love that this spin off series features all the kids of the Bishop Boys (because let’s be honest four books about the Bishops wasn’t nearly enough). The length of time that Diesel has had feelings for Rowan Bishop is absolutely adorable. The way that those two go back and forth with their banter was a big part of the charm of their story. While Rowan is full of sass when it comes to him he has nothing but love for her and sets out to make her see she feels the same way. Kennedy Fox will grip your heart, yet again, with this story and leave you wanting more.
********AUDIO REVIEW********
My way of “re-reading” a book is via audio and after listening to this I want to go back and actually read it again. Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola really bring Rowan and Diesel to life with their narration. There is one particular scene that hit me harder while listening to it than when I read it and I know it was because of how well Stephen Dexter was reading it and the emotions he put behind it. If you have read the Circle B Ranch book I highly recommend listening to them and if you can do audio the first time around then definitely check them out. I cannot wait for the next one!!!
Seriously, if the Circle B Ranch exists in real life, I want to stay at their B&B.
The Bishop family is hilarious and I always enjoy reading the stories of each couple. Rowan Bishop and Adam “Diesel” Hayes are extended parts of the Bishop clan and the Circle B Ranch. They met as kids, spent their teenage years tormenting each other, and are figuring out who they are as adults.
Rowan is Diesel’s best friend’s little sister. It’s the line Diesel should never cross, but when you know, you know.
