From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aurora Rose Reynolds comes the first novel in the fun, sexy, and thrilling How to Catch an Alpha series.Leah Emerson isn’t looking for a man—she’s looking for the right man. But her mother’s idea of a great catch leaves her cold, and she’s pretty sure her cocky, arrogant, and way too good-looking new neighbor isn’t the one either. If only her … isn’t the one either. If only her wayward cat would stop jumping through his window, she could get on with her life.
Tyler Duncan moved into town for a new job, not to fall in love. But he always goes after the things he wants in life with steadfast determination…and he wants Leah Emerson. He wants her smiles, he wants her touch, and he definitely wants her in bed.
Unfortunately, someone else wants Leah—in the worst way. Now Tyler’s on a mission to protect the woman he’s falling in love with while proving he’s worth falling for, and Leah must decide whether Tyler is a catch worth catching…

Believe it or not this is my first book by this author and I can’t believe what’s I’ve been missing out on. What a sweet and sexy read with just the right amount of trouble thrown in but not between the H/h. I really like this author’s style and I do love a nice organic romance blended with some heat and humor in a very well balanced way. Tyler & Leah are both great characters and I just love how their relationship starts out and how their whole journey goes. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read more from this author!
I was lucky to receive an ARC from the publisher via Netgalley.
There is just something magical when you read a book, and it touches on all your happy thoughts, and needs, and feelings. This book is that book, and while there is a little bit of drama, for the most part, this is boy and girl, well, a man and a woman, getting to know each other, and falling in love. The pieces all fit, everything aligns, and while it is not all smooth sailing, it is darn near close to it
Leah and Tyler have tried relationships, but nothing ever worked out for them. Then they meet, and the attraction is instantaneous. Experience has taught them not to get their hopes up, but they soon realize there is no stopping this, it is real, and it is exactly what they have been needing. One annoyance, that becomes more as time goes on, and a possible big hurdle, are met head on by them both, together, because their hearts know, this was meant to be!
This one was a really fun read. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this author’s style of writing. Leah and Tyler get off to a bumpy/funny start and I loved that the characters developed a friendship first. The supporting cast is fun and overall it felt like a nice change of pace from all the insta love and dark romance I’ve read lately.
There’s just enough laughs and heat to keep me happy and throw in the feels and you’ve got a happy reader. It’s a sweet read you can easily enjoy on a lazy Sunday.
Catching Him is cute and sweet in all the best ways. Leah is done with chasing after guys, she wants to be the one pursued.
Tyler is definitely the man for that job. A kind, protective alpha who knows what he wants.
“My mom is going to flip her lid—not in a bad way. She’s going to be so happy I’m bringing a man with me that she will probably start knitting baby booties. Not that she knits. She’ll probably just order some off Amazon for free two-day delivery.”
The story is low angst but with an interesting storyline that kept me always engaged. Add in the adorable kiddos and pets made this book a new favorite by this author.
-5 Stars!-
The beginning of this story is the best! It catches your attention and instantly helps you like all characters, even the pets. Loved how Leah and Tyler met. Loved how Tyler’s dog automatically creates a bond with Leah which is what helps bring them together. Not that Tyler needs any help. He is not giving her a say in the matter or even an opportunity to say no. He demands what he wants and he works to show that he deserves it. Now on the other side, it’s not hard for Leah to fall for him. He is quite a catch. Caring, protective, loving, respectful, pays attention, responsible, independent and he is not self centered. With how humble, sweet and understanding she is, she is the ideal match for him. They have the perfect dynamic. A great support system and their trust never falters. Match made to happen with great entertainment for the reader. That’s a great plus!
I received this book from Netgalley.
This was an OMG awesome read and I’m ready for the next one.
I loved everything about this book flow, characters and storyline were amazing. There was a little bit of drama that thankfully didn’t drag on the perfect amount of heat and an HEA to die for.
This book feels like home! I was in desperate need of a story that I could just chill with, assured I’d get all the alpha goodness I love as well a tiny touch of drama and all the swoony-ness I desire. I found it here.
The meeting between Tyler and Leah was hilarious, fun, cute and a bit sexy considering what Leah was not wearing. I love when a cute meet leads to a bit of embarrassment on the heroine’s part and that’s exactly what happens. But Tyler is that true alpha hero who knows what he wants when he sees it and he wants Leah. His courtship of her was too incredibly sweet, honest and real to be described. He wanted to work himself into her life and he set out to do exactly that.
”As much as I like just hanging with you, baby, you gotta know it’s killing me not to kiss you or touch you like I want to.”
Oh my God.
“I—“
“I wanted you to get to know me,” he says, cutting me off. “I wanted to be sure before I made a move.”
Obviously, I loved Tyler in all his protective, possessive alpha-ness. He checked every box I have for a perfect hero and some I didn’t know existed. Likewise, Leah was sweet, sincere, a bit leery going in that this guy was real but not to the point of it being an issue between them. She was fierce and independent but capable of compromising when needed and totally able to kick tail when required, much to Tyler’s dismay.
The chemistry between this couple sizzled and ignited to an all-consuming proportion the more time they spent together. As their relationship grew, the emotions of it grew as well and was a palpable thing that ignited across the pages. It was in all the little things that amounted to the total picture of a couple falling in love, embracing it, and dealing with what life threw at them in the process.
”You look amazing. You’re always beautiful and always have a way of stopping my breath and giving it back to me, but right now…” I shake my head. “Jesus, baby, you stop my heart from breathing.”
This is one of those books you’ll find yourself having read in one sitting and then despite the wonderful epilogue, disappointed that you’ve reached the end before you know it. There are some amazing secondary characters including Leah’s family that felt so much like my own I felt like I knew them personally.
No matter how many books by this author I read, I am always amazed at how she wins me over time and time again with amazing characters and feel good stories that make my heart sing. Catching Him was another huge win and I can’t to read more in this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Montlake Romance. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Leah Emerson fell into Tyler Duncan’s life, literally. Chasing her cat through the window of what she thought was a vacant house next door, Leah finds herself laying on the floor wishing she was anywhere else. Not only is the house not vacant, her new neighbor is incredibly hot with a large side of cocky. Tyler’s not looking for love he’s just in town for work, but after meeting Leah his mind has been changed. Leah’s been looking for love with all the wrong men, including her ex who’s back and wants another chance. Unfortunately for Leah, her ex doesn’t know how to take a hint. Now Tyler’s caught in the middle, trying to protect the woman he loves.
This book was adorable, it has a great meet cute, is sweet and low angst like a Hallmark movie in the best way possible. Not everything was completely smooth sailing for the couple, things like disapproving parents, and ex’s that kept showing up at the wrong time and causing trouble were involved. One element that I really liked about this book was the fact that the couple had good communication skills, sometimes it’s so frustrating when you know if they would just talk to each other for 30 seconds things would be ok (I know, then there would be no book to read), but I did appreciate that about this story. Overall this was a super cute story, and I honestly didn’t see a blatant set up for the couple in book number two, there are a few good options, I’m excited to see how the rest of the series plays out.
If you’re looking for a”beach” type read, this is a one click for you. A great storyline will low to no angst, with a sexy alpha whole steals the show. A great easy read that will have you swooning over Tyler. As usual with ARR’a style, you’ll be swept up in a this BOOM romance.
Aurora Rose Reynolds does it again with a brand new series How to Catch a Alpha! I’m sure this woman writes the absolute best alpha’s going. Their all growly and protective and just make your heart skip a beat.
Everytime i read a book from this author i know I’ll love it, whether its a Until book or another series its everything to do with the writing and the characters.
Leah and Tyler are amazing, so great together, the relationship between them is hot and sweet and their jokes between each other just seals the package for me.
Leah was cute and funny, she meets Tyler by accident by trying to retrieve her cat from his house.
Tyler is absolutely amazing, i loved him from the very first page i met him, he was the perfect alpha he has the whole ‘until boom’ alpha vibe going for him.
Seriously this book is so good! You need to grab it when it releases!
I can’t wait for more in this series!
Aurora Rose Reynolds Wow just Wow. You know when you read any of this Authors books you in for an amazing treat….From the moment I started this book I knew I was in for the most beautifully written book this year.

Aurora portrays Leah in such a way, its damn hard not to adore her.
Our Hero is the Star of the show for me….Tyler, Tyler, Tyler is one Hot AF hero. I fucking adored this man. He is so damn amazing. He is Honest and Hardworking. He has manners and kindness. They way he loves and protects is so fucking awesome. He will have you drooling thats a promise.

I swear Aurora Rose Reynolds just keeps getting better and better when bringing the BOOM factor to her romance novels. She is one of my all time favorite authors when it comes to Over the Top Alpha Heroes!! They are the perfect mix of Alpha possessive and men with a heart of gold <3
Catching Him is the first book in ARR’s newest series….How To Catch An Alpha. I think this series is off to an AMAZING start. I absolutely loved this book. I had a smile on my face all the way through. This was a fairly quick read and one that would be perfect for the beach. It was such a sweet and swoony romance, but she added a touch of suspense to keep you turning the page.
This book is a standalone novel that is told primarily from Leah’s POV but we do get a couple chapters from Tyler’s. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. Normally ARR does the insta-love connection in her books, but this one was a little slower, not much, but a little…lol 🙂 I liked that Leah and Tyler start out as friends, at least in Leah’s eyes, not so much in Tyler’s, and then it grew from there.
As you can guess this story follows Leah and Tyler. Leah is a single woman who lives alone with her cat Mouse and works in a salon with her mom and grandma. So when her cat Mouse gets out and runs next door she goes after him thinking the house is abandoned. Little did she know she would get caught by the new guy who just moved in….Tyler. Tyler is a single man who just moved into town and lives with his dog Bruce. He works in construction. When he spies his new neighbor sneaking into his house he is instantly interested. I loved the connection between Tyler and Leah. These two had some very funny moments, especially when it involved their fur babies, Mouse and Bruce. I think I love when authors put adorable pets in their stories just as much as when they put adorable kids in the book. This story actually had both.
Do you have an author that when they release a book you don’t even need to know what it’s about, you just know it will be fantastic and you go in blind because they never let you down. Well ARR is that author for me. I never have to read a blurb of her books, because I know I am going to get an Alpha Hero and a sassy heroine and a love story that will make me swoon and smile. I will read anything she writes!!!
If you haven’t read an ARR book and love an Alpha Hero and a story that has interesting storylines and off the charts chemistry….then you need to read one of her books. Catching Him is the perfect place to start your journey with this amazing author!!! Add this book to your TBR list NOW!!!
ARR has always been one of my favorite authors. And this new series is so sweet and fun to read. I was captivated from the first to the very last page. It was so sweet, I think I have a tooth ache 😉
Leah is living her best life being single. She has a job that she loves, she’s close to her family. She’s over playing games with guys that don’t know what they want. And she has a cat who is an escape artist.
Tyler has just moved from Tennessee, wanting to get away from his overbearing mother. When his friend offers him a job he takes it. While he’s fixing up his house Leah literally falls through his window. She was trying to catch her cat. But as soon as these two meet the sparks fly and the sexual tension is felt.
We follow these two while they fall in love. They have to deal with every day crap and there is also a mystery to solve. This read is so sweet and with a Hero who knows what he wants.
Highly recommended.
*I was given a free advanced copy of this book by NetGalley in exchange for my honest and voluntary review. All thoughts and opens are those of my own.*
Catching Him by Aurora Rose Reynolds a five-star read that you will want to catch with both hands. This is the first novel in the How to catch an Alpha and I am so excited for number two, this was so cute and funny and just simply amazing. You will get swept up in the drama and taken away to a cute place with amazing neighbours. Tyler Duncan is just the man you need in your life and the fact that he has a super cute dog just makes it all the more perfect. He is just the man that Leah Emerson needs in her life and this story just goes from strength to strength, the more you read the more you will get hooked and the drama will unfold and just suck you in. There is drama galore but its well done and true to the story, This is one story that you can’t miss.
Another hit from one of my favorite authors! Catching Him is book 1 in Aurora Rose Reynolds’ new How to Catch an Alpha series and I loved everything about it. Leah and Tyler’s story is adorably sweet with some amazing and scorching chemistry. Leah kept trying to tell herself and all those around her that they were just friends, but Tyler definitely did not feel the same. Tyler’s pursuit of Leah was stealthy and so much fun. Not only did I love Leah and Tyler but it was their adorable pets, Mouse and Bruce, that added so much to their story.
Aurora Rose Reynolds is one of those authors that I never even have to read a blurb and I will automatically love it. Catching Him is no different, it had great characters, awesome chemistry and a little bit of suspense to keep my interest. A wonderful 5-star read!
I absolutely love Aurora Rose Reynolds books and this one is no different. Catching Him is funny, sweet, cute and had a little bit of drama sprinkled in to keep me interested. I love a sweet alpha male and that’s exactly what Tyler is. I loved Leah, she stood up for herself and she was very relatable. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
5 STAR READ!!!
I love a good book where there is little drama and a hot sexy alpha male. Leah and Tyler are amazing as a couple. No games are played when those two get together and I LOVE that!
Tyler and Leah come together in an odd way. Let’s just say their pets, Bruce and Mouse, definitely have a role in how their owners meet and inevitably fall in love <3
Of course, there is a little suspense in the story, which I like. It brings out the alpha in Tyler and makes you swoon so hard for him.
Aurora Rose Reynolds has a way of bring the characters together and having them ignite on page. Her Heroes and Heroines are always on fire, so much so, that you can literally feel the love they have as you read page after page.
I cannot wait to find out who the next couple in this series is; I know I will love them just as much, if not more 🙂
