Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. Loved Every Second Of Time Spent Reading This.
Wonderful juvenile fiction!
The entire series is very good.
Who has not loved The Hunger Games series? It was easy to tell when any of the trilogy was making its rounds through my work at the time. It was a small office and we shared books all the time, as we did with the THG series. You could tell who was reading it by how exhausted they looked the week they had the book, because none of us could put it …
Wonderful. I’ve read the series several times
Amazing book, definitely read it.
Love it
I had to read the books before watching the movies!
In my review of The Hunger Games, I explained that although it was a good book, it did not “wow” me. I feel very much the same way about Catching Fire. It’s actually quite hard to explain (which is why it has taken me 3 days to write the review) but I am going to try anyway.
Catching Fire continues following Katniss post-74th Annual Hunger …
Honestly, this was my favorite book in the series. In this book their is more action, and you get a bigger grasp on the characters. Especially my favorite character who makes his first appearance in this book: Finnick Odair.
Great read. better than the movie. I enjoyed the entire series
Loved it
I loved this book!!!
Katniss goes back into the games with Peeta, as they struggle to fight for their lives, while trying to convince the Capital of their love story.
My most favorite book of all time!!
This novel is so creative and well thought out. Definitely needs to be read after The Hunger Games. These books just get better and better. (Plus, Catching Fire brought you Finnick Odair so you really can’t go wrong. And if you don’t know who that, read the books NOW. You’ll thank me later).
This was a great sequel, with a strong plot, brilliant new characters, and lots of action. I enjoyed how Katniss’s and Peeta’s relationship developed and how adamant each of them was to keep the other alive. The twists were unexpected and the older tributes were a great addition to the story. The world building was excellent and the writing …
Another fantastic book in this series filled with whole, tragic, relatable characters and tragically beautiful scenes. Watching characters battle with PTSD, drug and alcohol addiction to numb the pain they were forced to endure as children, facing their biggest fear once again as grown adults.
Catching Fire ends the trilogy with a bang. It will hold your attention until the end.
