From New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, comes another hilariously wild romantic comedy about being the third wheel in your friendship and, um, accidentally having sex with your best friend’s brother…My name is Carly Porter… And I’m really good at bad decisions. How do I know this, exactly? Well, not including the time I accidentally bleached my eyebrows or sprained my ankle … my eyebrows or sprained my ankle changing a lightbulb…
I had sex with my best friend’s brother.
Zeke Elliott has been a thorn in my side for eleven years. A very sexy, very tempting, very freaking annoying one. With big…hands.
And now my clitoris has a crush on the guy.
Seriously. I can’t look at him without my vagina performing accidental kegels. Which would be fine, but he’s Cain’s brother. I hate him. He’s off limits, right?
Right.

Catching Carly is the second book in the Barley Cross series. It can be read as a standalone but since Being Brooke kicked ass I recommend reading it too. That is where I first met Carly. She is Brooke and Cain’s best friend and she made an impression on me. She is a wild card. You will either love her or hate her. I loved her and that is why I was so excited that she was getting her own book. I knew something was going on with Carly and Zeke. This is a enemies to lovers story. It’s a love story but don’t expect hearts and rainbows. It’s more of a sarcastic and cocky kind of love…
Zeke. Cocky brother to Cain. My best friend that happens to be dating my other best friend. I hate him. It’s been eleven years building up to this moment. I hate that I accidentally slept with the enemy. I hate it more that I can’t stop thinking about it. And it doesn’t help that he keeps turning up on every corner of my life. Damn him and his dirty smile. He knew the deal but now he won’t leave that night alone. I know he doesn’t want a relationship so why he is all up in my fucking business?
Carly. Sarcastic and bitchy best friend to my brother and his girlfriend. I hate her. I hate that her verbal abuse towards me is a turn on. She doesn’t think I see it. The way she looks at me while yelling at me. I feel it too. The sexual tension. This is our foreplay. She knows. I know. But neither of us will acknowledge it. Who will break first in this game? I don’t know but what I do know is that I want her again. At the same time…she scares the fuck out of me.
Oh. My. Fucking. God. I loved this book! I can always count of Emma to give me exactly what I need when I need it. A hilarious, sexy, and fun ride full of sexual tension and humor. I seriously laughed until I had tears. Best 70th birthday party ever. Which brings me to the characters. Carly is Carly. She is snarky, sassy, and won’t take anybody’s shit. She is also sweet, supportive, and has her own ways of showing love. Then there is Zeke. I loved him in Being Brooke but totally fell for him in this one. He is one cocky ass but so much fun. Together, their banter is hilarious and sexually charged. I can just picture the looks on their faces while they fight. Little smirks and you are dead to me eyes. And of of the I want to slap you then take off of your clothes looks. It all makes for one epically fun story!
P.S. I Delilah!
Quotes:
“You’re a pig!”
“Oink fucking oink,” he drawls.
“Nobody thought to get a fourth chair?”
Cain grimaces. “Couldn’t find one. Sorry, Car.”
“Where am I supposed to sit?”
“On my face.” Zeke grins.
Brooke chokes on her drink.
Good. Serves her right.
“Carly! Focus!” He snaps his fingers.
I snap my eyes up to his face and step back. “I’m sorry! I can’t focus on your words when you’ve got your weapons of mass distraction on show!” I flap my hands at his stomach and then cover my eyes. “Put them away, Ezekiel! Your abs make me feel like a cat with a laser pen.”
Loved. Carly & Zeke have a hate & annoy thing going, until tipsy Carly propositions him for a one night, no strings, don’t talk about it fling. And life isn’t the same again. Funny, sweet, sexy, and fantastic.
**4.5 sugar stars**
I loved Carly in Being Brooke and was happy to see she was getting her own story. I wished I had someone like her as my bestie ‘cuz she’s not only hilarious, she wears her heart on her sleeves.
A love and hate relationship that will leave you swooning and laughing at the same time.
No matter how hard Carly tries, she can’t seem to get rid of Zeke. And as much as Zeke tries, there is something about Carly that he can’t seem to let go. Although they’ve known and annoyed each other for years, things are heating up between them very quickly after one drunken night. And even though it looks like they can’t stand each other, they always seem to find their way to one another.
Find out in this RomCom Romance if they get a happy ending..
Emma Hart has done it again – Catching Carly was hysterical. Carly is a train wreck, which is just as well because so is her best friend Brooke. Carly is missing the filter that stops the words in her head spouting out of her mouth. Zeke has been so badly hurt by his ex-fiancee, that he doesn’t think he will ever trust anyone ever again. After a drunken hook up after Zeke’s brother’s birthday party, Carly has vowed never to bring up the subject again. Which would work well if Zeke didn’t show up everywhere Carly is, including dates from Carly’s online dating escapades. Or if he didn’t keep referring to it with subtle innuendo, “Did you seriously just call me sugartits?”…. “Because you got a sweet rack.” – or maybe not so subtle. This book is a wonderful follow up to Being Brooke and although Catching Carly is a standalone, I think it is worth reading Being Brooke first. These books would make a wonderful rom-com movie.
Zeke could use a little work on his charm, “your dog is sh****ng.” I look down. Delilah trots away from her business, and I sigh as I whip a bag out from my bra. “Impressive,” Zeke says, leaning against the tree where I just was. “What else can you fit in that thing?” Both Carly and Zeke are like freakin’ boy scours they’re always prepared with the essentials, “he plucks a bright red, satin thong from the bundle and throws it on the bed. “Now I don’t feel so bad for packing a pack of fifty condoms.” Zeke is all for compromise, “I’d let you hump my leg without asking,” Zeke says the moment I come back into the front room. His eyes are fixed solely on my crotch. “****, you can do whatever you want to me without asking as long as you wear that thong.” I really loved this book, I was in love with Zeke.
