Zeke and Daya definitely makes this story. This was quick, steamy, and romantic.

I loved Zeke and his introverted ways. It’s only when he sees and meets Daya that the quiet fisherman’s voice makes an appearance. He’s sexy and sweet and knows just exactly who he wants when he sees her. They have an instant connection and fell in love with them. I also liked the other characters in the story.

Zeke is a lobster fisherman, and he’s not very sociable. Daya is a young waitress, a bit of a nomad looking for the place that feels like “home”, but not sure if this is it. Mona works her magic to set them up… Zeke knows she’s it, and so does everyone else – he’s talking to her. They’re perfect together. And Gus – what a cutie! – he’s such a little scene stealer. Looking forward to see what Mona does next…

When Zeke sees Daya he can’t help but talk to her. He hasn’t seen her before but she just calls to his inner self.
Unknown to them, Daya and Zeke had a little guidance in meeting and it was well worth the effort.

Who’s the catch of the day.
Zeke is pushing forty and a lobster fisherman. He’s gruff and taciturn.
Daya is 23, the new waitress at Catch of the Day and new in town.
And it’s on!
Falling in love can change your perspective on life. What appeared as dull and boring suddenly morphs into all the colors of the rainbow. Zeke and Daya just go through the motions until they meet. Then everything changes. Cute, short read and makes a great bedtime story!
I received an advanced reader copy from the author in exchange for my volunteer review.

Another fast fun read in the Zaftig dating series A dating agency where the people don’t even know they are been set up for a date as they are nominated by a friend or family member This is Zeke and Daya’s story.
She is a new transplant to Maine while he is a lobster man whose family has been there for generations The attraction when he comes to deliver lobster to the restaurant where she works is instant and the fact that his dog Gus loves her as much as she loves him is the final seal. Can he convince her that Maine is the place where she should finally settle down
The theme of this series is that sometimes fate needs a little help getting deserving people together. Welcome to the files of the Zaftig Dating Agency, where alpha men find the women of their dreams! The potential match this time is between Zeke Tannerman, a 38-year-old lobster fisherman; and Daya Rivers, a 23-year-old waitress at Catch of the Day restaurant where Zeke sells his lobsters, new to the Maine area in her search for a place that feels like home — and not sure she really wants to stay.
Zeke headed for Catch of the Day. The cook was an old school friend, Dennis, and Zeke kept the best of his lobsters for him. As they talked about the bad weather the week before, a sweet voice asked if that was typical Maine weather? Zeke was immediately drawn to her and asked where she was from – which astounded his cook friend who knew he wasn’t much of a talker. He even teased her that if the rain upset her, he wouldn’t tell her about the Maine snow!
Addie Brown and Sarabeth Holley arrived at the restaurant right after Zeke left. Daya told them they just had fresh lobster delivered, and Addie told her Zeke was her brother. The two of them were as different as night and day. Zeke is quiet, but Addie is flamboyant. When Zeke came in the following day and heard that Daya met Addie, he groaned at knowing he lost his chance with her. But the two of them joked easily with each other, and Zeke’s dog, Gus, won her heart. When Zeke warned her against letting his sister work on her hair – because she was beautiful just the way she was (oops, he hadn’t meant to say that out loud) – she gets teasing and sassy and gives him the courage to pull her close and gives her the chance to wrap her arms around him and kiss him! Is this the start of something between them that can last forever? Will she get that feeling of home she has always been looking for?
These stories are so addicting! In a short amount of time, the reader will adore the characters and wish only the best for them. The author is fantastic in allowing the reader to experience the real emotions of the characters. The story line is well-paced and draws the reader right in. Grab your copy and thoroughly enjoy how two loving people (and an adorable dog) are beginning to fall in love. Will this be another successful secret match?
She must be a witch because she has made him “nice”
So the question is exactly is the catch of the day???
Is it the shredder lobster that Maine fisherman Zeke hauls in each day?
Is it the beautiful, sweet and curvy Daya?
Is it Zeke himself?
Or is it Gus, Zeke’s hound dog who is a hound in more ways than one?
Catch of the Day is the story of Zeke and Daya, and let’s not forget Gus, and how they are matched by the wonderful and smart Mona Zaftig.
Zeke Tannerman is thirty-eight years old and a commercial fisherman out of the small town of Merritt, Maine who had never lived anywhere else. He comes from a long line of Maine fisherman with his family being one of the founding families of Merritt. He lives by his grandfather’s maxim, “a bad day spent fishing is still a pretty damn good day.” While the single ladies in town consider him “husband material” and his younger sister Addie is forever trying to set him up, but he is not interested, or at least no one has captured his interest. Instead he fishes with his best friend Pete and his dog Gus and goes about his life. That is until one day he is delivering his daily catch to his friend Dennis’s restaurant, Catch of the Day, when he hears a sweet voice asking him a question. When he turns around he sees a beautiful and curvy young waitress and a stab of desire hits him in his belly, like he hasn’t felt in a long time.
Daya Rivers is twenty-three, has just moved to Merritt and is working as a waitress at Catch of the Day. She is a wanderer, never finding a place that felt like home. She she sees Zeke she is intrigued and thinks he is good looking. When his sister Addie and her friend Sarabeth come in to the restaurant for lunch just after Zeke leaves she cannot believe that Zeke and Addie are related, much less brother and sister. They are about as opposite as you can get in every way.
The next day Zeke is all ready with a conversation starter for Daya when he opens the kitchen door at Catch of the Day. But it is Gus who lets out bark that brings her out the door. Gus is all over her when she squats down and opens her arms to him. He slides in, puts his head on her shoulder and closes his eyes with a smile on his face. Zeke is “not jealousy” even though he wants to kick the dog out of the way!!! Before he leaves Zeke asks Daya out for that night and he picks her up when she gets off work, taking her back to his house.
This is another successful match by the Zaftig Dating Agency but it will take the help of Gus to really seal the deal between Daya and Zeke. It seems the perpetual wanderer is ready to grow some roots in a small town in Maine. I love this series and have’n eaten more than a few Maine shredder lobster rolls I can just picture the tall, handsome, built, sexy, “strong silent type” that is fisherman Zeke. Just makes my mouth water thinking about it…………the lobster roll that is!!!
I really liked this short but sweet story. The characters were great and there wasn’t any angst.
Zeke is a commercial fisherman so he’s a busy guy. His sister is constantly trying to get him to date but he doesn’t want the distraction. That changes when he meets Daya. Zeke wants to be around her and she’s all he thinks about.
Daya is new to town and the state of Maine. She moves around a lot and isn’t sure that Maine’s the place for her. When Daya meets a buff bearded fisherman named Zeke, she figures she will see where things lead her.
This is instalove at it’s finest. I need Mona Zaftig to matchmake for me! LOL Zeke and Daya are so sweet together. Gus was awesome and I loved how he got introduced to Daya. I loved their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.
Great addition to a wonderful series! I really liked Zeke and Daya. They were super cute together. I liked how funny Days was. Looking forward to more!!

Awww…another sweet, sexy, and saucy short from Jane Fox. Zeke is well on his way to being the town curmudgeon until he encounters Daya. She quickly wins over him, his dog, and his sister. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Beautiful.
This short story had a little bit of everything: action, adventure, drama, romance, sensual scenes and suspense. The story was good and it flowed along smoothly. The characterizations were all good, including the ensemble cast members. What I especially like about the story was the friendship and camaraderie shown by the main female character and her two best friends; unconditional love and support.

Another great short story in the Zaftig Dating Agency series! I am so in love with each of these couples. Daya was a little more aimless and vulnerable than previous heroines and I thought it was adorable. And GUS!! Omg I loved him as a supporting character 😉

Amazing as always! I just love these over the top, short romances. The matchmaker that no one sees! Such an unusual idea! At the beginning of each story, we’re given a short character synopsis and told how the matchmaker plans for them to meet. In this story, meeting seems inevitable given that Zeke is a fisherman, and each day delivers fresh catch to the restaurant where Daya is a waitress. Fate, in the form of Mona Zaftig, intervenes and these two end up with the love of a lifetime! The perfect read for a quick lunch or a short break from the daily grind.

This is yet another great addition to this series. It’s fun, sweet, and steamy. Daya is a nomad going where she chooses when she chooses, and Zeke is a fishermen hoping to have her make a home with him. I loved the characters even Gus (who honestly probably shouldn’t be my favorite but is definitely in the running). He is such a good boy. Honestly I don’t know how this author churns out these amazing stories so quickly.
