“AL Jackson at her best. She’s a wordsmith. A magnificent storyteller. A poet and a romantic. Mix all of this with some page-turning suspense, and a climactic ending, in more ways than one, and you’ve got yet another must-read.” -USA Today Bestselling author, Lauren Rowe

This is the second book in the Falling Stars series, and the story of Royce, and Emily, and I definitely want to read more from this author after this book. This was well written, the characters had great chemistry, and their story kept me engaged. This was sexy, emotional, and dramatic.
I love romances where the main couple has to work for their HEA, where there’s a bit of angst and some pulling of the heartstrings. From the moment I started this book the emotions were definitely running high, the chemistry palpable between two people with painful pasts that are slowly revealed throughout the story. With each turn of the page I was captivated by the journey these two took together, a journey that made them stronger as the story progressed.
Royce Reilly, like many of Ms. Jackson’s heroes, is a delicious contradiction. He’s a brooding, tatted-up, sexy, caring, and oh so supportive man with an air of mystery surrounding him. He’s a man on a mission at the start of the story, but what that mission truly is isn’t made clear until the final chapter and until then I was on the edge of my seat. Meeting country crooner Emily threw him a bit off his game plan though and it left him conflicted as his heart became more and more involved. Royce’s past was a heartbreaking one and it fueled his motivations at every turn, sometimes had him not being fully transparent with Emily, but her safety and his support of her was vital to him. They were absolutely combustible together with every interaction teeming with sensuality and it had me blushing a time or two in this tale that I never wanted to end.
Emily Ramsey is lead singer of country band Carolina George and though she tries to put on an air of being content and in control, she’s actually anything but with her past starting to weigh on her future. It’s a past that still haunts her and is one that she fears will rear its ugly head at any moment. She’s reached her breaking point though, but just when she hits bottom there’s Royce. Though she knows she shouldn’t be attracted to him she can’t help herself and it led to numerous sizzling encounters that kept me voraciously turning the pages. Emily’s an appealing heroine, tough with a big heart but a bit bruised, and through each subtle word and deed Royce helps her to heal. Together they built each other up, made each other better, in a journey that had me rooting for them every step of the way.
From the first page to the last this was a story about revenge and second chances, a building up after reaching some very emotional lows, and it captivated me. The hero was a compelling dichotomy who readers weren’t always sure about but by the end it’s more than clear whose side he’s on. The pace of this story was well-crafted with an important reveal presented at the end after a trail of storyline breadcrumbs to keep readers wanting more. The life of a musician was realistically depicted too, with the chaos and glamour of being on stage balanced with the peace and normality of being home. I enjoyed getting to know more about each bandmate, the familial vibe between each, and I hope to see more books based in this world. Those looking for a romance full of heart and soul, with a bit of intrigue and angst, will be thanking Ms. Jackson for another beautifully crafted story and another unforgettable main couple.
If you love rockstar romances filled with angst, secrets, and forbidden love…this is the book for you!!!
An emotional and amazing book!
Catch Me When I Fall is Ms. Jackson’s best work to date! Emily and Royce were never supposed to fall for each other, but fate has other plans. Both their pasts are littered with tragedy, will they ever be able to come out unscathed if they fall for each other? This book definitely has allllll the angst, and I devoured every minute of it! Caroline George is the up and coming band that Royce needs to sign, but he needs to convince lead singer Emily of that first. These two have chemistry that sizzles, and I loved seeing the rest of the band members, as well as some familiar faces from previous books. Catch Me When I Fall is one of the best books this year, and you don’t want to miss it!
Emily and Royce’s story was so emotional and amazing!
Catch Me When I Fall is the second book in the Falling Stars series and this book keep me on my toes. A.L. Jackson wove so many layers to the story and reading each page delved deeper into a powerful romance between Royce and Emily while also leaving breadcrumbs for the next book in the series.
The story follows Carolina George, a Band who is up and coming and going through the motions of that change from small time to big time.
This book focuses on Emily and Royce and I just have to say, wow insta lust/insta love never looked so good!
But there’s a hitch when we find out Royce is the A&R rep for the record label. Can we say conflict of interest?
There are also so many hints towards what Royce had done in the past and that kept me on the edge of my seat! I couldn’t tell at some moments what his true intentions towards Emily and the other members of Carolina George were. Was he a good guy? And if so what is he hiding? Eek!
Then there was Emily. Oh gosh I loved her character! She had obviously been through something traumatizing that we’re discovering throughout the book but she was so selfless in her willingness and determination to try to follow through on the common goals their band had. She pressed on when she could and did it for others and that was impressive and commendable.
As we read on we start to unravel the mystery of what really happened to Emily to cause her such turmoil and how that ties into Royce’s objectives.
A.L. Jackson did an amazing job giving us a story with music, hope, mystery, emotions, angst, passion and love. A recommended from me!
“I never knew what it meant I thought my heart was breaking, Turns out it was only making room for you, So catch me, Catch me when I fall I’m right here Waiting for you to catch me when I fall”
All the feels
What a crazy ride to fame. When all of your hard work finally pays off, but will it cost you in the end? When the trust is broken, will everything else fall apart? Read this heart wrenching book to find out.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
The Falling Stars series is back, and this time it’s Royce and Emily. This series captured my heart with the first book… and then this book stole it and refuses to give it back.
Royce and Emily are raw and so very intense. From the moment they meet, you can feel the tension like it’s a real palpable thing that is waiting for you to reach out and snap it with how thick it is.
I can’t even find the right words to portray just how much this book literally destroyed me. In a good way. From the start, I was hooked into the story, not wanting to let it go. Everything I thought I knew about AL Jackson as a writer went out the window with this book. Her ability to draw me in and refuse to let me go is like poetry. Her masterful way with words took me and placed me in the story as I watched it all unfold in front of me.
I cannot wait to watch as this series continues to unfold.
Five stars for this brilliant romance that brought me to my knees and had me begging for more when it was all said and done!
WOW! This book took me by complete surprise…in such a good way! I knew it was going to be a rockstar romance. And I knew that we would see some characters from the prior book in the series (namely Emily), but what I wasn’t prepared for were the dark and suspenseful turns this book took, and I loved every minute of it.
Emily is the lead singer of an up and coming country/rock band. From the beginning of the book, you know that she has some demons. She’s running from something, and emotionally not in a good place. The secret that she holds onto is one that will shock you once it all comes out. When she meets the mysterious Royce, their chemistry is instant. He’s dark and dangerous, yet makes her feel safe and protected. Between AL Jackson’s prose and their hot and swoony moments, these two caught fire and the flames never vanished.
As their story unfolds, you will come to learn Royce also has secrets and demons. He battles with himself and his feelings as his and Emily’s relationship develops; he cannot let go of his past and vengeance and still he wants what he know could be his forever with Emily. Throughout it all he remains determined, strong, protective, and loyal to those he cares about. This man is both intimidating and oh so swoony at the same time.
This story is unique, suspenseful, emotional, and beautifully written. Emily & Royce have both survived the worst, and you will find yourself cheering them on from the beginning of the book. I was addicted to the pages, and loved every second of this book! Well done once again AL Jackson! Can’t wait for more in this series.
Now I’m Not going to lie, for the first time reading one of Amy’s books I wasn’t instantly hooked, I felt the storyline was a little slow but looking back now it was just the suspense slowly progressing and my own frustration of not knowing the secrets kept, and all the summising thoughts I had. I felt the storyline was very similar to Kiss the stars at first and if you have read that you will Know what I mean when reading this, also her writing in this series seems
To be very different , is this because it’s more poetic and lyrical, maybe so.
But get to halfway I’m pulled deeper and deeper in and Amy does it again, rips out my heart and had me reading with bated breath as she delivers a tragic storyline but she repairs the shattered heart as she fills it with a beautiful romance.
The story is full of Secrets and suspense, the twists and bombs dropped are stomach turning. It was a very unexpected plot, the deeper into the story the more I was
Hooked.
I’m not a big fan of insta love but Royce and Emily do instantly have a deep connection and their chemistry is electrifying!
Their love is pure and real.
Both broken but finding each other is their healing process.
Royce was everything, broken by his past, out for revenge but falls hard when least expected, he’s rough and sexy and you cant help but fall for him, and can only hope he gets the happiness he deserves because he’s not just the hero, he’s Emily’s knight in shining armour!
#soulshine
Another fabulous emotional, compelling read from this author!
“I don’t know how to let you walk away.”
When Emily Ramsey meets a stranger in a bar, there’s an instant connection between them. A connection that is palpable and fills the air with electricity. She’s never been a reckless girl but she’s more than ready to spend the night with him. Imagine her surprise when he leaves her at her hotel door. The next morning, imagine her shock when she realises who he is and that he has the future of her band, Carolina George, in his hands – but is she even ready for that future?
“This girl was the one who was the threat. The first with the power to cloud my judgement.”
Royce Reilly has a plan. He’s on a mission that’s been in the making for a long time and he needs Carolina George to complete it. However, his spellbinding attraction to their lead singer is messing with his focus but he just can’t keep away.
“I was worried about wrecking her, but I was pretty sure it was this girl who was going to wreck me.”
Every time I read this author’s books, I have to brace myself for a roller-coaster ride of emotions. She writes with such powerful words and gripping passion, that you know you’re going to be put through the wringer. There’s fierce attraction, alpha sexiness, heartbreaking angst, and blazing chemistry in spades. Emily is talented, loyal but so fragile and haunted. Royce is warrior-strong, protective, and so soulful. My heart bled for them both. I enjoyed the mystery and the revelations. Such a fantastic read!
So Mrs. Jackson, are you for real? How do you always know how to build me up, break me down and put me back together again. This book is another example of how awesome she is as an author. The storyline and characters all feel so real like you could run into them on the streets of South Carolina ( I might have to visit, it’s been a while). The world is a dark and dangerous place and her books give us a glimpse of that, but what it also shows is there are people willing to lose it all to fight the evil. So every time good over comes evil I breathe a little bit easier. The sweet ending is enough to bring a grown woman to her knees. I can’t wait to see what else comes to us from this series. I’m sure it not over yet!
Swoon, that’s what you will do when you meet tatted-up bad boy Royce in the second book of The Falling Stars series. This book is steamy hot with main characters that are burning up the pages. The second story about the county band Carolina George has centered on Emily the lead singer, hitting the big time is within their reach and they have wanted it for so long. Emily is having trouble with anxiety and panic attacks after some recent trauma. The band is pushing her to sign a record contract but she is so broken she just doesn’t know if she can. Enter Royce the second in command at the record label, it’s like she has met her other half. The heat just flows off of them but he has secrets too and is just as broken as Emily. Lots of drama, angst, and many twist and turns. A.L. Jackson is a master of these page-turners that you just can’t put down. I loved this book and look forward to the next book with these amazing characters.
Catch Me When I Fall was so emotional, and like all of AL Jackson’s books, it pulled beauty from pain in a story that will leave you riveted to the pages with your heart completely full. Royce leaves Emily with no other option but to fall for him, even with the warnings he gives her she’ll regret it. I loved every minute of their love story!
Oh Royce! God, this man is something fierce. a true protector, with a heart of gold even tho he is hiding something. Emily didn’t have the best life and she is a lost soul, especially now.. These two have such an incredible chemistry and even tho they try it’s impossible to stay away.
As always the story is beautiful and emotional! It got me hooked right off and I love the characters!
Catch Me When I Fall is the first book in the Falling Stars series by the talented AL Jackson and it’s in audio first! This is one of those books that I didn’t know I even needed. Remember the band Carolina George from other AL Jackson books? This series is about them! They are an up and coming country rock band looking to get signed. They are dedicated and talented, but a few of them have deep, dark secrets that could destroy them before they even get off the ground. Their lead singer, Emily, is hiding something. She meets a sexy stranger and they spend one hot night together. Royce should never have touched her. He needs to sign her band, not get involved with the sexy lead singer. There’s too much at stake. Royce needs this deal to go through and he won’t stop until it’s done. Royce has to fight the strong connection he has with Emily. What happens when Royce and Emily’s secrets come out. Will it destroy them or bring them closer together? This story is full of emotion and angst and my heart almost couldn’t take it!
5 Everything Changes With One Night of Passion Stars!!!
There’s so much at stake for both Royce and Emily but when they have one night that’s beyond any they’ve ever experienced, little did they know it was going to come back around and potentially alter their lives as they know them.
I absolutely fell in love with Royce and Emily individually and as a couple. Their story is filled with emotion and angst along with the longing they have for each other. There’s a couple of twists that came out that I truly wasn’t expecting either! This is the beauty of an AL Jackson book…she has a way of weaving a story that challenges her characters instead of making it easy on them. There are decisions that need to be made and the question is…. Is love enough to make them challenge what’s “supposed” to happen?
I devoured every page of this book and may have even lost a little sleep because I NEEDED to see what happened next because you see, there’s a suspense element to this story that coincides with a beautiful second chance story and it truly gripped my heart!
I haven’t read a lot of rockstar romances where both the hero and the heroine are in the music industry, so I was excited to see what A.L. Jackson had in store for her newest main characters in Catch Me When I Fall.
Broken souls seem to be Jackson’s go-to heroes and heroines and Royce and Emily fit into this category of characters in a multitude of ways, but while it’s clear that these two are fighting demons from both the past and the present, it’s unclear, especially when it comes to Royce, just how caught up in the overwhelming deluge of emotions that push him forward, with a singular focus – one that Emily, somehow, fits into, but remains unclear for much of their story.
I loved the dynamic that Jackson created between Royce and Emily, partly because he has more of a bad boy rocker vibe while she’s more sugary sweet but also because these two bare so much weight on their shoulders, from their respective pasts, their emotions, and their future goals that it’s more than obvious that they are both strong and driven in reaching what they want, but, what, Emily doesn’t quite grasp, undoubtedly, because Royce does his best to suppress all of his motives for wanting her band to sign with his record company and how that works with his plan of revenge.
The push and pull between Royce and Emily plays out within the pages of their story in a way that illustrates just how much they want one another, but also the cost that comes with giving into those feelings. Add in a healthy dose of angst and quite a bit of suspense and Catch Me When I Fall will have readers theorizing and hypothesizing exactly how things between the hero and heroine will end up and what the cost will be to both of them.
One aspect of Jackson’s writing style and her voice that are consistently demonstrated through all of her stories is that she understands the emotional depths of human beings…she understands that there’s a gray area amidst the black and white, that doesn’t force one-sided observations or actions. She has a way of getting to the heart of situations and of people and illustrating the personal and professional struggles of her characters, in a way that doesn’t offer one clear answer to how they should proceed but a full overview of what has led these characters to where they are now and where they hope to be in the near future.
Every single book I read by A.L. Jackson takes my emotions on one heck of a tumultuous journey and while I may not understand why the characters make the choices and take the actions that they do, I’m always left empowered with their strength, their tenacity, and their ability to love, despite everyone and everything trying to tear them down.
4.5 Poison Apples
Carolina George is rising up the charts and on the edge of making it into the world spotlight. Emily is struggling with the secrets that are threatening the very essence of Carolina George’s future. With a major record deal on the table, Emily can’t find the courage to sign on the dotted line.

With revenge as the ultimate end game, can Royce figure it all out before Emily is any wiser?
Catch Me When I Fall is the latest release from A.L. Jackson. Emily is the lead singer of a popular country rock band, while Royce is the man that makes the dreams happen. Their attraction is explosive and full of hidden secrets. Together the two will conquer the world, unless the past catches up with them first. The nuances of what Royce was hiding fueled my interest in this story. Two broken souls in a world that will chew you up and spit you out before a star can even burn its brightest.
Hold on tight…..life in the spotlight is about to get a whole lot brighter. The romance, suspense, and rise to the top will captivate you throughout this book!! Catch Me When I Fall definitely will rock the stage and your heart!!

A.L Jackson’s prose is unlike any other, her words are beautifully written lyrics that will weave a song that will call to your soul leaving you aching in the best way. Every time I read one of her books, I become instantly lost to her words letting the magic wrap me up in the story and allowing myself to get lost. Royce and Emily’s story is no different weaving an intriguing tale of angst, love and revenge.
Royce is All. The. Things. I fell in love with his alpha demeanor and possessive side, especially with Emily. He has a dark past and ulterior motives to travel with them. But as the story progresses you realize he would do anything for those he cares about. He comes off as elusive and uninterested when it couldn’t be further from the truth. He is fighting with himself to do the right thing when it comes to Emily, but their connection is just too strong.
Emily is beautiful inside and out but she is broken and no one knows why. She’s holding this huge secret inside that is slowly crushing her under the pressure of it, to the point that she is having anxiety attacks on stage. I felt for her on so many levels, she thought she was doing the right thing, and she thought she had to do it on her own, until Royce showed her that she didn’t.
When they first meet Emily doesn’t know who he is, Royce is just the guy who saved her at the bar. But from that moment you could feel their connection and instant attraction. Every time they are anywhere near each other they can feel it, like a second skin. The tension between them is so intense it’s has it’s own presence. You can feel it trying to burst from the pages, slowly filling up every space they are in until there isn’t any room left. These two are beyond explosive and the heat between them was enough to cause your Kindle to burst into flames!!!
I loved this story the drama and angst were off the charts. And the chemistry between Emily and Royce was next level. I love A.L Jacksons writing style every book feels like coming home and I can’t wait until the next one in this series. This band is fast becoming my favorites of hers.
Just what I needed for a relaxing long weekend. Emily is the lead singer for her tight-knit rock band Carolina George. The band is about to get a huge break, but Emily’s emotional state is in a shamble and she is having a hard time moving forward, writing songs and performing. Emily has been through a hard past. She is a survivor and she is strong, but everyone has a breaking point. Royce’s story is mysterious from the start. He came in Emily’s life at the right time not only to help her band but also as a protector/hero for Emily. I love that Royce is a tough nut. He is protective, caring and has a good heart. I also enjoy the plot – just the right amount of angst, drama, passion, and romance. The chemistry is palpable from the moment they met. There is no use denying it and impossible to ignore especially when Royce will be coming on tour with the band. Both the hero and heroine are tortured souls, hiding dark secrets which make the story pretty exciting. You get a little tad bit of hints here and there throughout the book, just enough to keep me on pins and needles, but Royce’s secret is revealed toward the end. The little epilogue – freaking adorable. I really enjoy this author writing – flow smoothly and very poetic at time. Catch Me When I Fall is beautifully written – emotional, heart-wrenching, intense love story.
