One hot mess. One hot boss. One too many hot encounters…It’s not you. It’s me.No, seriously. It is me. Not only does my name literally mean “unfortunate,” but that’s the story of my life.Everything I touch turns to crap. An apartment fire–that I swear I was not responsible for–means I’m living back at home with my sex-mad parents. Yay, me!Which is why I need my new job as personal assistant … is why I need my new job as personal assistant to Cameron Reid to get back on my feet. Three months in this job and I can move back out and, hopefully, remember to turn off my flat iron once in a while.
Ahem.
On paper, my job is easy. Make coffee. Book appointments. Keep everything in order.
Until I walk in on my boss, half-naked, wearing nothing but the kind of tiny white towel that dreams are made of.
Now, nothing is easy–except our mutual attraction. But he’s my boss, and you know what they say about mixing work and pleasure: unless you do porn, it’s just not worth it.
Or is it?

My Review:
While reading this highly amusing and cleverly penned tale, my reading was frequently interrupted with giggle-snorts and full on laughing aloud. This was my introduction to the highly comedic Emma Hart but I was a quick convert to her cult. I was totally enamored with her agile wit, snappy writing style, and adorable characters. Mallory had a sassy and keenly observant nature but was a Calamity Jane type and a hazard to herself as well as objects and others nearby, as she was accident-prone and a trouble magnet. She also had a wickedly keen sense of humor, a flair for drama, a vivid imagination, a highly eccentric and loquacious family who excelled at squabbling, and a crush on her handsome new boss who appeared more than able to hold his own with her during exchanges of clever quips and verbal sparring. The storylines were highly appealing and pleasantly engaging while the writing was crisp and cunningly comical. I adored every well-chosen word and grieved reaching the final page.
This was another fantastic read by Emma Hart! Low drama, lots of laughs, and the banter between, well, pretty much every character was beyond entertaining. I loved how down to earth Cameron is, and that money didn’t make him a jerk. Mallory was perfect for him, with her clutzy ways. This was a great read I would highly recommend!!
Another fabulous rom-com from Emma, I’ve always got a smile on my face after reading one of her books and this is no exception – a sweet, fun, adorable and quirky read!
Mallory is a klutz of epic proportions, nothing and no one is safe around her, including herself. She’s had to move back home to her sex mad parents and is looking for a new job – working in a real estate office seems to be the most promising when she literally runs into her new boss in the most unattractive way!
Cameron is rich and sexy and runs the family real estate business, his new assistant is proving to be more than just beautiful and a quick learner, she’s a whirlwind of disaster waiting to happen, coffee and Mallory don’t mix!!
Mallory and Cameron and the perfect match, they really do get on well, the banter between them was great fun. Mallory is a great character, funny and adorable, I loved her!! Cameron is sweet, hot and sexy and very down to earth, a real catch!
This is a slow burn read that really worked well, funny and sweet, with Emma’s signature crazy family members, this makes for a delightful read!

I laughed, a lot, while reading this book. And, while this was definitely a story about the relationship with Mallory and Cameron, can we all just chat about her family for a second? No spoilers here, but really, hilarious is the only word that comes to mind for her family…or nuts. That one works too.
This was more of a slow burn than I was expecting. But, not in a bad way and there was a lot of time spent with the developing friendship, which made the relationship work well once they decided to go from boss and assistant to dating.
Emma Hart’s characters are always quirky, but still manage to feel like real people. This was no exception. I also love that, in her books, the quirky one is adored by the one who is a little more “normal” without the other wanting to change them. It makes it feel like this is a story about 2 people who were meant to be.
I enjoyed and recommend this title.
Another sweet and fun romantic comedy from Emma Hart. She had totally found her niche in this genre.
Mallory and Cameron’s story was anything but simple but watching this relationship grow from friendship to romance was a fun journey.
Office romances can sometimes seem to transpire too quickly. Emma gives us an attraction that slowly burns into a flame that Cameron and Mallory can no longer resist.
Can we mention Emma’s ability to include family and make them so engaging that they take up a place in your heart.
This is a quick and enjoyable read which will have you laughing and routing for the characters as you take their journey with them. Looking forward to more from Emma Hart.
So I was excited yet again when I saw that there was a new book from Emma Hart. She became one of my go to rom-com authors after I read her Holly Wood series, that is one of my favs, loved loved loved it and was sad when it ended, I am still in hopes that she pops up with something from that series just to touch base (Emma can you hear me?!?!) Anyhoo so in this one we meet Mallory who my friends is a hot mess but we love because she was funny and tragic and luckily for her she meet Cameron who just happens to end up being her hot boss, and he loves himself some klutzy Mallory. Her family was hilarious, the whole book was great, I don’t want to give you too much but do yourself a favor and please grab a copy and as always my friends Enjoy!
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
Catastrophe Queen by Author Emma Hart is a delicious rom-com. It kept me laughing out loud and turning the pages.
Mallory is a hot mess. It is like she trips on air and is a total klutz that must have mini heart attacks walking up the stairs. Yes…that klutzy and adorable too. She is also quirky, sassy and owns all of it.
Cameron is hot and has his own quirks. He is the total opposite of Mallory and opposites definitely attract here.
If you are looking for a fun read look no further. This is a great office romance in an angst free zone.
Catastrophe Queen by Emma Hart is another wonderful standalone romance from one of my favorite authors. Full of quirky characters and real world problems all wrapped up in a captivating tale of love off-limits. You just can’t go wrong with an Emma Hart romance.
5 Heart of Gold Stars!!!
Yet another winner from Ms. Hart. I’m not sure how she does it, but with each new book, I continuously have a smile on my face while reader her books. And this newest one is absolutely no different.
I absolutely loved Mallory and all her little idiosyncrasies, like being a klutz, because hey, I’m the biggest klutz in the world so immediately related to this beautiful girl. And when she starts to work with Cameron, well everything changes for her… she needs the job but can’t ignore how handsome her new boss is….
“I dragged my gaze up from the feet, over the door of the perfectly clean car, and stared at the most handsome man known to humankind. Thick, dark, wavy hair covered his head, curling over his ears. Lashes the same dark shade of brown framed impossibly bright-blue eyes….”
And so sets the scene for how fabulously comedic this book is. Combine Mallory’s penchant for tripping and/or breaking something, her somewhat wacky family, which is something I always look forward to in a book by Ms. Hart, and of course the heat that’s simmering between boss and assistant and it’s the perfect lighthearted read.
What ultimately happens between Cameron and Mallory is something you’ll need to discover for yourself, and I highly encourage you to one-click this newest book by one of my favorite authors because you’ll get a great story with laugh out loud moments and a smile on your face when it’s all said and done!
What an incredible light and refreshing book. I found myself laughing out loud at the klutzy and hot mess tendencies of Mallory. Cameron – just yum- was a great character too and I love their families. All the dynamics felt so realistic to me and interactions similar to my family or my friend’s families.
Truly my soul is lighter after reading this.
My favorite Emma Hart book since Four Day Fling! I absolutely could NOT put this down once I started and at one point thought I was going to need some type of inhaler from laughing so much. Mallory is the epitome of a hot mess, but I’ll give her an A for effort, she’s got the coordination of a newly born baby giraffe apparently. But she’s got a great heart, despite being “a twenty-five year old grandma without the burden of grandchildren”. Just her description of the shenanigans at her parents’ house had me laughing and cringing all at the same time.
And then there’s Cameron; good heavens he’s presented to us as one hot specimen of fine sexy manliness! The chemistry between Cameron and Mallory is pretty hot, but goodness, the dialogue between them is hilarious. One thing I adore about Emma Hart’s books is that while they’re considered RomComs, it’s not about how much sexy times happening between the characters, but more about the buildup of the friendship and romance. This is yet another winner from Ms. Hart that I highly recommend!
This book is another smashing hit by Emma Hart . I loved every minute of this.
I’ll be honest an say I was Mallory 10 years ago. I loved her quirkiness, her flamboyant mouth and her clumsiness. I loved her attitude even with all the misfortune she’s been having lately she just didn’t give up.
As for Cameron; holy mother off all that is hot…that man can have me any day of the week. I loved the chemistry between him and Mallory. And don’t even get me started on the banter – LOLing from beginng to end.
I know we often hear people refer to Emma Hart as the queen of rom-com’s and boy does this slow burn rom-com prove just that. BRILIANT 5* from me 🙂
OMG Emma Hart has done it again!
Let me tell you this author must have the brains because her book is to die for, is one better than another, so much laughter that the next day I had pain in my tummy for god sake, she is that good, trust me.
Mallory is kind like me, a disaster, everything she tough she breaks is madding how klutz she is the poor thing.
After losing her job, put fire on her unit she is living with her parents, space is minimal and when some relatives come for visits she had enough, finds a job to get out of that situation.
Cameron is her hot new boss; he can’t see how disastrous his new employee is but she is hot as hell, as Mallory trying really hard not to break the place away, but the chemistry they have for each comes to the surface they will try to keep the business in one piece,
Catastrophe Queen is a fantastic, funny, romantic read and I could not be enchanted by this books more than I am.
5 amazing stars.
I absolutely loved this story. The characters were awesome and the story perfect. We meet Cameron and Mallory in this hilariously romantic book. Once i started i was not able to stop. The banter between the two main characters was so epic. But the conversations between Mallory’s family was out of this world. I laughed through out the whole book. Definitely entertaining. This is a 5 star book that mustn’t be missed.
Mallory and Cameron’s story was so much fun. I was giggling and even laughing out loud at the antics in this book.
I loved how Mallory was far from perfect. She was as clumsy as clumsy can get and I think we can all appreciate that (at least just a little). What I loved more was that Cameron loved that she was a klutz. SWOON! Their romance was slow burn, and while I didn’t quite expect it, I really enjoyed it. The build up, the angst, and especially the banter between these two were my favorite.
Emma Hart writes secondary characters like no one else! They are so quirky and never fail to make me laugh out loud. We all have family members and friends that are similar to the supporting characters and make it easy to relate to them.
If you’re looking for a rom-com with very little drama and a romance that will leave you with a smile on your face, pick this one up right now.
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
Laugh Out Loud Heaven! This was a delightfully sweet and absolutely hilarious romantic comedy that was filled with sassy, witty banter, loads of laughter as well as epic entertaining times, that kept me smiling and laughing through most of this book. This is my first story by Emma Hart and I can’t wait to read more, more, more of her stories.
Mallory is without a doubt a klutz, knocking over coffee cups, tripping over air, are an everyday experience. Currently she is living back at home with her parents, after losing her job and her apartment burned down, possibly due to a straightening iron, being left on. When she finally gets through an interview that wasn’t an epic fail, she almost gets hit by a car that is driven by a absolute hunk.
Cameron Reid ran his family’s real estate company. He has been having problems with finding an assistant, since his ex-assistant didn’t return after maternity leave. When Cameron comes in to meet his new assistant, he finds that it is the beautiful woman that he almost ran over the day before.
The chemistry between them is sizzling, but the craziness of all that is Mallory doesn’t seem to really faze him. At least she can do the job and is quite good at it, especially with all of his demanding clients. And that is due to having to put up with her crazy but hilarious great aunt, grandfather and her parents. But soon their attraction can’t be ignored and although dating your boss is not something you should do Mallory and Cameron just can’t say no. So hang on to your seats as well as your stomach as these two will keep you entertained and laughing throughout this book. Sweet, Sexy, and Hilariously Funny!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Catastrophe Queen is without a doubt LOL, Emma Hart starts off a year with an amazing book. IF you’re looking for something that will make you swoon, laugh, and love then this is the book for you.
Mallory is MY FAVORITE!! Poor girl, she’s just a cute funny mess. She like I tell my mom trips and gets knocked down by air. She is sassy but sweet, she if klutzy, but cute. I just loved everything about her. Cameron is someone the complete opposite from Mallory, he is someone the people around him can’t stand him, he thinks to highly of himself.
These differences between them is what makes them perfect for each other. This had so much swooning, laughter, and perfection. Mallory and Cameron just became my favorite Emma Hart couple.
I absolutely adored this book. It is so sweet and funny. It had me laughing and swooning throughout. It had me wanting more for these characters and impatiently waiting for them to cross that line. I enjoyed reading this so much.
I swear Mallory could have been modeled after me. Unfortunately, catastrophes and clumsiness and all. I love her sass though and her quirkiness. She is so cute and perfect for Cameron who is charming and alpha and just about the complete opposite. I loved their chemistry and seeing them get to know eachother. It was a lot of fun. I always fall in love with Emma’s work and her characters and this one was no different. I definitely can’t wait to read more from her.

This book is exactly what I needed! I had a major book hangover and this book was the perfect cure. It is light, funny, witty, and all of the other wonderful descriptive words for good book.
Mallory is the epitome of catastrophe. If something can fall down around her, it will; if she can trip over it, she will; if there’s a cup of coffee, watch out. The only thing better that Hurricane Mallory is Cameron’s reaction to her. Unlike most other people, he finds her accident prone-ness, completely adorable. This book is a breath of fresh air. She is so far from perfect. Her family is C-R-A-Z-Y, like absolute bananas. They are inappropriate, unfiltered, and the funniest characters ever. This book is just like Mallory, completely adorable. (Review by Terri “Jane”)
Mallory is a walking disaster. Cameron is her new boss that she already had an unpleasant encounter with, but she needs this job, all she needs to do is try not to make a mess of things, literally. When the two both feel the spark, will they try and make a go of things or will Mallory’s catastrophic self keep them apart?
This was a cute and quirky read, that had some really funny moments. It was a good read, but I wanted more from their chemistry, the steamy bit we got was not really steamy. I give this 4 stars.
