One hot mess. One hot boss. One too many hot encounters…It’s not you. It’s me.No, seriously. It is me. Not only does my name literally mean “unfortunate,” but that’s the story of my life.Everything I touch turns to crap. An apartment fire–that I swear I was not responsible for–means I’m living back at home with my sex-mad parents. Yay, me!Which is why I need my new job as personal assistant … is why I need my new job as personal assistant to Cameron Reid to get back on my feet. Three months in this job and I can move back out and, hopefully, remember to turn off my flat iron once in a while.
Ahem.
On paper, my job is easy. Make coffee. Book appointments. Keep everything in order.
Until I walk in on my boss, half-naked, wearing nothing but the kind of tiny white towel that dreams are made of.
Now, nothing is easy–except our mutual attraction. But he’s my boss, and you know what they say about mixing work and pleasure: unless you do porn, it’s just not worth it.
Or is it?

4 Stars !!!
I was laughing from the first page all the way to the end . This book was absolutely hilarious. Mallory who’s name actually means unfortunate is a walking, talking disaster . She can’t walk without getting hurt . Cameron is an organized , put together , gorgeous man . Mallory needed and job after her apartment burnt and she lost her other job . She becomes the PA for Cameron a man who almost ran her over when she walked in front of his car . This book I’m telling you I was laughing so hard in parts I had tears in my eyes . Mallory doesn’t think anyone like Cameron could look at her in anyway other than her being a disaster . This book is just a funny , happy love story .
I loved this story! Emma has a way with her words that will have you cracking up, and wondering where she comes up with this stuff!
Klutzy Mallory just interviewed for a new job as a PA for a realty company in town. After the interview, she’s walking not paying attention and stumbles into the street where she almost gets hit by a car! Out steps probably the most hottest guy shes ever seen!
Cameron hasn’t been able to keep a PA since his cousin decided she wants to be a stay at home mom with her new baby. When Mallory comes in, he feels like he’s knows her from somewhere but can’t place where! From there, the sparks fly, the banter begins, and these two will have you swooning with their chemistry!
5 stars for this one!
Emma Hart captured my attention from the very first scene … because I went to school one day with a pair of dirty socks in the leg of my pants, yup it was so so embarrassing.
I love Mallory because with her what you see is what you get! She is clumsy, dizzy and so so sassy!!
Emma Hart never limits herself to write a hero and an heroine, she writes meticulously every single character of her story and that is why she always creates the best family. The banter between Aunt Grace and Mallory made me laugh so hard and Helen is in my book a cool mama!! And Cameron’s mum LOL
The way Mallory met Cameron for the first time was perfect. Clumsy encounter, embarrassing scene but sexy at the same time.
She is looking for a job and ends by becoming Cameron’s assistant. He quickly gets used to her hurricane tendencies but knows that he can’t cross that line… even if his parents did it that way!
But can they both resist the tentation?
Catastrophe Queen is a romantic comedy that will make you laugh so hard , it hurts.
PS: I love Nick Jonas too!
Lmao!!!! Cameron and Mallory were freaking hilarious!!!!! They met in the most funniest way and I almost peed myself while reading it. Long story short guess who was Cameron’s new assistant?! Lol yep Mallory. When she saw the hunk who was her new boss she wanted to disappear and Cameron couldn’t believe the brunette beauty from earlier was his new assistant.
Long story these two started dating but it was soooooo funny that Cameron nicknamed Mallory “Hurricane”, Lolololol. There were minor hiccups but several sigh out loud moments. These two complimented each other.
I’m a big fan of Emma’s and thought that this book was a fun, quick read. Her characters were fun and well developed. If you are a fan of Emma’s books then this is the one for you
Mallory Harper is a klutz. She’s great at her job, funny, sassy and an actual walking disaster when it comes to random accidents and mishaps . . . like almost being run over after a job interview. When she’s offered the job as the new assistant to a successful real estate agent, she jumps at the chance. But, what she didn’t expect was to completely and totally have the hots for her new boss . . . who also happened to be the guy who almost ran her over.
Cameron Reid needs an assistant who is organized and can handle difficult clients. What he didn’t expect was to see the woman he almost ran over sitting in his office. He knows from the get go she is a bit on the clumsy side, but it doesn’t slow down his attraction for her at all. In actuality, he finds it pretty adorable and can’t get enough of Hurricane Mallory.
Both know it’s a bad idea . . .dating your boss never ends well for anyone. But, sometimes a bad idea ends with results that can be totally worth it!
Catastrophe Queen was simply adorable! Poor Mallory . . .nothing ever seems to go right for her when it comes to clumsiness and awkward situations . . . and her family and best friend don’t let her forget it. I loved that even though she’s a hot mess, she’s crazy competent at her job and actually quite a good fit for her new job.
Cameron is sweet, sexy, romantic and an all around great guy. The fact that he finds Mallory’s awkwardness cute and quirky rather than annoying seals the deal for me on what an amazing book boyfriend he is, especially since he understands the importance of nachos and serial killer documentaries as a great date!
This couple is adorable together and their interactions provide constant laugh out loud moments. Both also have some outspoken family members that provide amazing comic relief as well. Honestly, there’s no real drama in this book and I loved the light and fun feel to the entire story. It’s funny and flirty and just a great romance to get caught up in. 5 stars!
Mallory is a walking disaster not only to herself but to everyone she comes into contact with and she completely owns it. After an apartment fire that couldn’t possibly be her fault, she finds herself unemployed and moving back in with her parents. She needs to get her own place as quickly as possible however almost getting hit by her potential boss’s car is bound to make quite the impression.
Cameron is wealthy, successful and oh so sexy! He knows that he needs to stay far away from Mallory and the damage that seems to follow her, but he finds her adorable and appreciates the fun and laughter she brings to his office and life.
I loved these two characters. Mallory is such a klutz that her antics will have you laughing out loud and if you didn’t know Cameron you might think he was stuffy, but he not only accepts that she is the Catastrope Queen but embraces it. Full of humorous banter, off the wall characters and great chemistry this romantic comedy is sure to bring a smile to your face
Emma’s speciality feels like it’s writing a scene stealing relative. She’s really good at it. Once again the female lead is snarky but cute. The male is charming but a bit arrogant. It’s a go-to formula for the author but it always works for her.
Catastrophe Queen was anything but a catastrophe. It was well written and hilarious with great characters.
This book was just wonderful. It was light hearted, funny, sweet, with two main characters that will make you want to love them. Cameron is swoon worthy and Mallory is just adorable.
We can all relate to Mallory and her clumsiness. We have all had those moments where we have done something or many somethings to embarrass ourselves in front of others. Imagine that being in front of your new boss who is hot as sin.
I read this in one sitting because the writing and characters sucked me into their world and wouldn’t let me go. It made my heart full and made me laugh out loud.
Emma Hart is the queen of romcoms and this book is not exception. I always look forward to this author’s new releases.
Getting the job as a personal assitant is what exactly Melanie needs. Until she finds out, her boss is the one who almost ran her over…which was her fault. Will Melanie be able to keep her job, or will her clumsiness cause her to ruin everything?
Catastrophe Queen is hilarious. Melanie is sassy but fun and every quick. Cameron is gorgeous, knows how much of a sweetheart Melanie is and loves her family!
Mallory is prone to disasters. The kind that left her lying on the sidewalk, her coffee spilled and her knickers tied to her boot. And a giant rip on the ass. What she needs urgently is a job, because with the fire in her apartment (yes, it was her fault) she had to go back to live with her parents. But coming home and finding her parents having sex in all rooms available is a sight she definitely does not need. That is why a job and a salary are her priorities.
Cameron runs his family business and his rather busy life causes him to need an assistant. But find the girl who he almost ran over and left behind a pair of cotton panties with flamingos on them was not the help he expected.
And with the queen of catastrophe, or the hurricane like Cameron calls her, loose in his office, the word of the time is run and save yourself. Spilled coffees, stumbling, flying papers. Choose the worst scenario and Mallory is certainly involved.
A totally crazy family, with a grandfather and a grant aunt totally sarcastic and with an exaggerated love for the drink, parents who behave like adolescents, a mother who at first sight seems to be cold but who is more similar to the protagonist than its imagines and a best friend without a filter are some of the pearls the reader will find throughout the reading.
The main couple is a show apart. Mallory is a walking disaster. It is surreal to the tide of bad luck and misfortunes that she attracts. Although finding her incredibly hot boss with only a towel can not be considered unlucky. A first meeting that ends in the emergency room shows what to expect from their relationship.
The book is funny, with a hint of sour humor, with hints of romance but nothing too exaggerated. Mallory and Cameron deliver a sweet book, well written, very real and consistent with the age group of the characters. They are two young people making mistakes and adjusting, trying to find a way to happiness through the mishaps of life.
Funny, light hearted and romantic does not even begin to describe the latest book by Emma Hart, Catastrophe Queen. With snarky comments on every page Catastrophe Queen kept me laughing and wanting to read more. Not only did the main character Mallory have attitude but so did her entire family, which made the interactions at her house quite entertaining. Catastrophe Queen is a 5-star read that I highly recommend to anyone who wants a great story to make you feel better about yourself and see you are not the only one that has “unfortunate” things happen in life.
Saying Mallory Harper is a klutz is an understatement. She is a walking, talking disaster that finds trouble no matter where she goes. Now Mallory is working for an incredibly gorgeous man, Cameron Reid, who just happened to almost run over her the day of her interview, and things only go downhill from there. There is witty banter, attraction and spilled coffee on the third floor of the Reid Real Estate office and it’s only a matter of time before Cameron sees Mallory for the Catastrophe Queen that she is. The question is will it cost her the job she’s grown to love and the eye candy that she has fallen for?
If you’re ever in need of a good laugh, and I mean the actual laugh-out-loud kind, pick up a book from Emma Hart. She never fails to touch my heart, brighten my day, and give me even more characters I wish were my best friends.
First off, Mallory is my spirit animal and we would 100% be BEST friends in real life. Why, you ask? “Pizza and serial killers are the way to your heart?” “Actually nachos and serial killers are, but I’m not sure you can get nachos delivered.” ALL. OF. THIS. IS. ME. Seriously, though, Mallory is … well, the catastrophe queen for sure, but she loves nachos, has a lovably dysfunctional family, and is an intelligent person. What’s not to like? She seems to win over the heart of everyone she encounters, which would be an amazing trait to possess.
This story was more of a “slow burn” than I’ve read in a little while. DON’T WORRY! The exciting bits are still there, trust me, but I really enjoyed these characters taking their time to get to know each other, even if that wasn’t quite their intentions at first. I’m all about some good steamy scenes, but for me I really love the lead up.
This book kind of pulled me out of a funk I’ve been in for the past few weeks. It made me genuinely laugh, gave me a world that pulled me into it, introduced some real and fantastic characters, as well as gave me another story full of the hope of love. Definitely recommended as a read to start off your 2019!
When I say that I know exactly what I’m getting with an Emma Hart release, it’s a good thing. Because, queen of the rom-com that she is, Emma always delivers with a story chock-full of giggles, snorts, lols, and, yes, the sizzle. CATASTROPHE QUEEN, her latest romantic comedy, satisfies at every level, with klutzy, lovable Mallory and her new boss, Cameron Reid, stealing my heart page by page.
One of the things I love best about Emma’s books is that her heroines are smart and full of sass, and aren’t afraid to use it. Mallory may be less than graceful, but she can absolutely hold her own with Cameron. And since he’s not just a rich guy with a pretty face, once Cameron sees what Mallory brings to the table, the wick is lit and the slow burn to happiness begins.
Whether you’re already a fan of Emma’s books (and, if not, WHY not?!) or a first-time reader, CATASTROPHE QUEEN will hit the spot. Make a point to grab this sweetly sexy book and enjoy.
Mallory and Cameron’s story is heart warming and hilarious. It’s a read that makes you laugh and also swoon.
Maybe closer to 4.5 stars, but I’ll round up. Now, I have loved everything I have read by this author so far. This one did not disappoint! It started off immediately making me laugh out loud as I read. While I am not clumsy like this main character, so much else about her reminded me of myself, and that is usually what helps me get into the story. While there were lots of laughs throughout the story, there was a bit in the middle when I wasn’t quite as invested as I’ve been in the other books by this author. Not sure why, just felt a little bit out of it. But further into the story, getting sucked into the craziness of Mallory’s family, not to mention loving Cameron’s as well, I was hooked once again, and couldn’t tear myself away.
Once again I was won over by the hilarious banter and witty dialogue, steamy romance, and the sweet perfection of the man we are meant to fall in love with. I still think it would be a blast to hang out with this author some day, and hope one day I get the chance to meet her and totally fangirl!
Emma Hart is one of my favorite go-to authors when it comes to romantic comedies and her newest release Catastrophe Queen just proves why that little fact is so freaking TRUE! This is perhaps her most hilarious story to date and had me rolling on the floor laughing my a** off every second of the way! The storyline was extraordinarily unique and the characters were definitely the perfect match. Cameron and Mallory had me head over heels in LOVE from beginning to end because of their playful and witty banter! Seriously these two were a HOOT! My heart was swooning in overdrive and the slow-burn love story was on point!
Mallory is a total walking disaster and I knew that I was going to have a major girl crush on her by the end of this story…and I was completely right! She is legit hilarious and her clumsy side caused some awkward moments. Like REALLY awkward! Now Cameron is a sexy and rich bachelor who happens to be the complete opposite of our heroine, but I believe that is what makes their chemistry even HOTTER! Like STEAMY hot…you know the kind that makes your heart speed right up!

Catastrophe Queen is a standalone rom/com by Emma Hart.
Mallory Harper is a 25 year old woman and a walking disaster. She’s too much. Too clumsy- a total klutz, too high maintenance but at the other side her catastrophes are highly entertaining.
Cameron is her new boss and he has no clue what’s waiting for him.
Because Mallory doesn’t finds disaster, disaster finds her every single time.
Catastrophe Queen is a fast paced, high energy read that had me glued to the pages. I read the book, cover to cover, in one sitting, I simply couldn’t put it down. I loved the storyline and the excellent writing and give 4,5 stars.
Good lord! Get yourself ready to laugh because Catastrophe Queen is one of the funniest and goofiest romcoms from Hart yet! Stuck at home with the craziest relatives, Mallory is on the hunt for a new job that won’t turn her away for her clumsiness. After the perfect interview where she didn’t inadvertently knock something over though. Mallory falls in front of her new boss. Cameron also happens to be hotter than sin. And after a few days of her quirky issues, Cameron seems to be taking a liking to Mallory. Not only does he find her “accidents” cute but her stubborn attitude about not letting it get her down wins him over. But a romance with your new boss isn’t a line Mallory is easily ready to cross.
Cameron is the sweetest Hart Hero I’ve read yet. There’s the typical male ego with him but there’s a softer side as well. He’s quick with a smile and a save when Mallory creates a mess in the office. His instant attraction to her could pose problematic after he’s finally found the perfect office assistant. But Cameron isn’t a salesman because he’s used to letting chances slide by. If he can handle high priced Hampton homeowners, he can handle Hurricane Mallory.
I’d call this a drama free romance since there isn’t anything outside of the office romance aspect for our hero and heroine. But Mallory’s constant accidents and mishaps threaten her own sanity. Lighthearted and carefree, these two definitely have chemistry. Cameron is constantly teasing and pushing Mallory’s buttons but its not annoying. When they finally cross the line and try to date…Cameron handles her family’s craziness with ease. A super fun romantic read filled with humor and light!
