“Ancient cravings twist innocence into depravity when the Devil grows infatuated with virginal Pearl. Binge-read this masterpiece with the lights on.” – Myra Danvers, USA Today bestselling author I am the devil, and I am in love. Possessing the power to keep Pearl from the light, I shall keep my treasure to myself for all eternity. Locked in the Catacombs where only I may see and touch her, … eternity.
Locked in the Catacombs where only I may see and touch her, where no other will know my queen exists, she suffers beautifully—each dusk waking with no memory of the night before.
No recollection of the passions we have shared or the torments I have visited upon her.
No idea how I intend to ravish the very blood from her veins until she calls out my name in bliss.
CATACOMBS is a tale of pure horror. And though there is only darkness in these pages, Pearl’s HEA can be embraced in THE RELIC.

Being a huge fan of Addison Cain’s work, I was very excited to read this story and she didn’t disappoint. In Catacombs Addison Cain created a world that will plunge you into complete and total darkness and take you way past your comfort zone. This story is brutal, bloody and all things that go bump in the night. It also wouldn’t be Addison’s book without having all that steamy hotness that only she can create. As always, Ms. Cain’s writing is superb and you can’t help but be drawn into the dark and depraved world that she so masterfully crafted. Step into the darkness if you dare!
Catacombs is one twisted tale of love, lust and blood. Let me just say it is absolutely awesome and dark. I personally like my books are the darkest side and this story does not disappoint. This is the story of Pearl a creature of the night wanting to live in her simple life in her little room with a small window. Only to one day be thrust into a dark reality after defending herself from a rapist. Then Pearl finds herself caught in the clutches the handsome devil Darius. Darius loves to both torture and dote on his new beloved treasure. This is a must read.
Tick tock tick tock I could almost imagine the clock ticking as more clues were revealed the deeper I read into this well crafted sinister tale. I couldn’t look away even as the clues formed a disturbing image in my mind. I anxiously hoped for a redemption as I greedily read the pages. After I closed the book on the final page I let out a deep breath just happy to be safe in my own well lit house. I will say I highly recommend a journey through the Catacombs where the nightmares never seem to end.
This is the second book by Addison Cain that I have read . The first was Cathedral and I loved it! Her book Catacombs is about The king of vampires the ancient Darius,he is a complete monster! A vampire who might be very handsome but who is a sadist and passes off what he does to pearl as love! Make no mistake this is not a vampire romance but a erotic horror and theirs no love making or tenderness in this vampire. He is demented and his desire is depraved! But every night he comes to pearl and she can not remember anything that he has done the night before because he wipes her memory at the end of every night. He says it’s for her own good so she isn’t tormented by memories of her past abuse but it’s just part of his sick game that he plays with her,but even though he hurts her time and time again doing the most awful things to her she craves his touch and his blood. I will say that this book made me uncomfortable a few times because of darius violent ways, but it is horror erotica and it’s not suppose to be pretty or sweet and let me tell you it’s not! Addison is a fabulous writer and she knows how far to push her readers and her storytelling is awesome as well. I wanted to read this before darius and pearls continuing story Relic comes out at the end of October. At least I’m now prepared for the fuckery to begin! In for penny in for a pound as they say! Until next time Luv’s
Twisted, dark and erotic. You never get what you want with this author, she doesn’t care if you’re screaming “noooo” at the end. She doesn’t write for us, she writes for the characters and it’s always perfect.
As far as preludes go… oh em gee!!! This was an amazing nine chapter prelude to Cathedral. Pearl doesnt know what she is but she accidentally kills a guy when protecting herself which gets the vampires of the city to hunt her down and bring her to their master Darius. Darius keeps the daylighter for himself. Wiping her from everyone’s memory. He is a demon that changes his appearance for her. Every day when she wakes she soesnt remember anything because he wipes her memory until one day he soesnt come back.
So I have to admit this story took me a minute to figure out. But what a fantastic account once it got going. Catacombs isn’t a full-length story or anything. Catacombs is a get to know story about the ruling vampire king and his newfound treasure that he refuses to let go.
This is a dirty, disgusting, disturbing, freaking awesome discovery! I can’t wait for Cathedral to come out this month!!
Catacombs is one of those books you think about after you finish reading it to try and understand what you read. Yes, it is horror in its truest sense, but I think it goes a little deeper than that. It makes you wonder about Darius and how he came to power. It makes you wonder about Pearl’s beginning and how she becomes what she is. I only wish this novella was longer! This is Vampires at their cruelest. 4 Stars!
If you want a ruthless Vampire
Perfect example of an obsessed man and his tresure, a king of his kind this beast has made a prisoner of a woman who knew nothing of her origins. Her innocence finds her a confort in his presence creating the question is she enslaved to the substace and his touch or is this dubcon just for her survival.
The masochism and Noncon isn’t for everyone so beware.
This was a well-written vampire horror novella. I want more! I loved the writing style, and couldn’t put it down. There was graphic abuse that was painful to read–take the warnings seriously before starting this. This was NOT a dark romance or love story. No love or romance at all. No hea. This was dark, disturbing, sick and twisted. Truly a horror story.
Catacombs claims to be a dark romance but in reality, it’s about as pitch black as you can get in the genre, holy hell.
I did knock it down a star because there was some religious stuff in there, that I won’t lie, scares the jeepers out of me sometimes. I am a giant wuss when it comes to that stuff and that makes me squirmy. However being a horror story, hey, I guess it for sure lives up to that claim.
If you are someone who loves their HEA, this one probably isn’t for you. The ending is one that will definitely stick with you for days and creep into your mind when your right at the point of sleep every night.
Deliciously Dark!
This dark, delicious story begins with ferocity and ends leaving the reader shell shocked and yearning for a happily ever after that will never come. Addison Cain’s writing lures the reader deep into the darkness to feel every fear or confusing thrill that the Pearl feels. I am left yearning for a continuation of Pearl’s story in hopes that her soul was not consumed by the darkness within the catacombs.
