“Ancient cravings twist innocence into depravity when the Devil grows infatuated with virginal Pearl. Binge-read this masterpiece with the lights on.” – Myra Danvers, USA Today bestselling author I am the devil, and I am in love. Possessing the power to keep Pearl from the light, I shall keep my treasure to myself for all eternity. Locked in the Catacombs where only I may see and touch her, … eternity.
Locked in the Catacombs where only I may see and touch her, where no other will know my queen exists, she suffers beautifully—each dusk waking with no memory of the night before.
No recollection of the passions we have shared or the torments I have visited upon her.
No idea how I intend to ravish the very blood from her veins until she calls out my name in bliss.
CATACOMBS is a tale of pure horror. And though there is only darkness in these pages, Pearl’s HEA can be embraced in THE RELIC.

If you love your books insanely dark, twisted, and perversely hot, you won’t want to miss this terrifying tale by Addison Cain!
This book turned me on in the worst ways. I felt guilty, I was concerned for my state of mind, but I still absolutely f*cking loved it!
Don’t read this if you’re looking for a happy ever after. Because there isn’t one. Every single story in this magnificent offering is so dark, so depraved, so…. Magnificent. Gorgeous.
Sins. We all have them, and so do the protagonists in all these novellas. Their sins start them on the path to unthinkable penance. But they welcome that servitude. It is hot, dirty, depraved, and perfectly delicious. And heart-wrenching. There is no escape. Sometimes the dark wins. And sometimes… Sometimes, you like it.
This is so dark, so very dark and please note the category it is in. There is no sweet ending to be had here, no redemption, no joy.
This is a wonderful tale that takes you down the rabbit hole of depravity, evil and terror. It held me mesmerised by its intricate beauty, whist igniting my anxiety and flooding my soul with horror.
It’s a twisty tale that left me with many questions, though these were questions mainly of my own making. Was Pearl better of without her memories? Was she happier when she allowed Darian to win?
This has it’s erotic moments, it has it’s dubious consent moments and it has its endless moments filled with eternal desolation. It isn’t an easy read, it most certainly isn’t a romantic read, don’t expect an easy ending, don’t expect rainbows, unicorns and a supposedly dark hero who turns into a romantic sap the moment he meets the heroine.
Do expect a far from heroic, very obsessed and incredibly evil character whose fixation on the heroine leads her to a very dark place. Expect erotic darkness, an amazing short story and an ending that will be everything you want and also everything you totally hate all wrapped up in the sheer f**ked-up-ness that is the hallmark of this amazing author.
the inimitable Addison Cain rocks it again!
Catacombs was awesome! Definitely heed the warnings though: if you’re looking for just a romance with a slightly dark twist, this is not the book for you. This is just straight up dark. Awesomeness *and hotness), but dark.
Woah!
What did I just read?
This was such a twisted delight of erotic Horror mixed in with a huge dash of macabre menace.
A tragedy in the makings just counting down the seconds and minutes until that haunting and wretched end-game: Got to say here I devoured every ill-fated circumstance placed before me.
Everything unnatural and grotesque about this story hooked me in like a like a fish on a line.
Catacombs itself is not in any way a romance: so if that is what you are expecting here turn around and walk away: there is nothing fanciful and loving between these pages.
What we are given is a sinister descent into obsession and madness where Pearl imprisoned by the very monster she also craves awakens each day with no memory of the days passed.
A complete blank canvas for Darius to paint his own particular brand of brutality and sweet care.
He is the puppet master and Pearl his own personal marionette.
The sole provider of Pearl’s happiness and health.
And If like me you’re drawn to the darkness within: revelling in the bizarre and outlandish the Catacombs is probably the story for you.
A story that drags the reader into the depths of the dark and is completely unapologetic in its delivery and intent.
This was such a distinct and different read and that finale: just Woah!
This is one twisted tale that I highly recommend it may be short but it certainly packs a punch.
I give very few novellas the full five stars: but Catacombs, in my opinion, deserves every single one.
Just be aware before reading this that it is a dark read with dubious consent throughout no your own limits.
So yeh this one for me was fantastic and gets a massive thumbs up and I am so excited to hear that this premise is being developed into a new series: I for one can’t wait.
Catacombs originally featured in the anthology “When The Dark Wins”: This collaboration is no longer available for purchase.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Catacombs

READ THE DESCRIPTION!!! Yes, this story is one of pure horror about the ruling vampire lord and his captive treasure. Dark, chilling, so deliciously horror-filled, Addison Cain kept each page-turning as if on its own accord until I was finished. Letting out the breath I was holding I’m left wondering what just happened. Just exactly what is his treasure? What does that mean? And who “wouldn’t dare” do whatever Darius thought they had. What happened to Pearl? If your genre includes vampires and horror with a twist of the illicit, then by all means, you don’t want to miss this one.
This story is like a dirty Twilight Zone episode—one that definitely can’t be shown on TV. It gets dark—literally and figuratively. Pearl is a Roaring Twenties cigarette girl who finds trouble…and that’s all I’m saying. Like a Twilight Zone episode, it’s best you don’t know what’s happening until it happens. Just like Pearl. Then there’s that ending! This is a standalone book, but I really want to read more about this world.
Every nightmare realized
I dub you, Addison Cain, Mistress of Darkness!
Holy f*** this author knows how twist something depraved into a book you can’t put down. I need the next book pronto!
What is a god anyway? Do we abandon our beliefs? What would it take for you to call the darkest, most evil incarnate your god? Torture? Solitude? Being a prisoner? How about mind blowing sex? Or the most horrific sex you’ve seen yet! Poor pearl doesn’t understand who or what she even is when it happened, if only he didn’t come after her, she then wouldn’t be in the position she was in. She needs blood to survive, human blood fills her with disgust. Only one blood acts as an aphrodisiac to her. Catacombs was a great dark story to delve into, we all need a little darkness in our life am I right? Well lets just say Miss Addison Cain has done it again, a horrifically delicious dark, erotic, gruesome story that will have your insides churning in disgust and pleasure. Let your dark side revel within this twisted tale. Weak hearts be warned, Triggers lie ahead deep within. Also a cliffhanger awaits you, which I ultimately love and hate! keeps me yearning for more, but so frustrated needing to know more!
CATACOMBS springs forward from a truly disturbed mind, and I adore it. A quick read that leaves a deep impression, one not easily shaken, should you want to. Darius has you questioning what is evil, and what is mercy, and how excruciating living forever might be. Mortality is underrated.
All those who enter, abandon hope! Dark and scary. If you love horror stories, you will really like this one. With every page you will have hope that things will get better. With every page you are scared it will get worse. This story will keep you hooked and keep you up at night. Everything you could want in a horror story. This is not a dark romance. Just frightening!!
Completely unique and definitely not a HEA. Good characters and keeps you drawn in
Definitely dark and twisted. I found myself struggling to finish it. It was like something was missing or maybe I expected more with the plot/storyline as I’ve read several of this authors books and enjoyed them. This one is definitely a miss for me but others may enjoy it.
NO PLOT Glad it was on Unlimited! I should have learned my lesson with the Red Queen… I am not reading anymore of these horrible books…rape and despair is not what I am looking for. If you ever get around to finishing Irdesi series I will read that.
A dark, twisted, and deliciously HOT must-read!
Please tell me there is more to come and poor Pearl is no tragically left to her date
Very Dark, Very Captivating!!
Pearl has broken a rule in defending herself and must pay a price. A brutal start is erased each day along with her memory so she gets to “decide” what the current day will hold – to a point. To explain further might ruin the experience for the next reader…. Just be assured it is an “experience”.
