Nothing bad ever happens in Ponderosa Pines
At least, that’s what anonymous gossip columnist Chloe LaRue and her best friend, town matriarch EV Torrence thought—until a resident of their sleepy little village turns up dead. When EV becomes suspect #1, even Chloe can’t stop the rumor mill from churning.
Against Detective Nate Harper and Deputy Dalton Burnsoll’s orders, Chloe and EV mount their … Chloe and EV mount their own investigation—but what they uncover might just rock the community to its very core. Could one of their own beloved citizens really be a killer?
Clean read: no graphic violence or sex.

I love animal heroes!
I guess I don’t agree with most of the readers. I didn’t finish the book bc I was passed page 50 and there was still no murder/death so I got bored/impatient. I didn’t really care for the characters either.
Interesting story about a gossip-hungry town and how gossiping helps discover the cause of two murders.
Good book!!! I enjoyed it and finished it in one day, couldn’t put it down!
Murder in an aging hippie community. This old hippie community has had its ups and downs through the years, but never murder. Now they have had two!
I enjoyed this book quite a lot. Kept me guessing, but I did guess the murderer before the end. I liked it, though.
Easy reading. A pleasant change of pace from detective books.
I enjoyed the book. Lots of twists, lots of characters. The title is quite “witty” in relationship to the story.
This story kept my attention. I can’t read a whole book at once but I wanted to get back to this story.
THIS IS A TERRIFIC NEW SERIES! I READ THIS THEN WENT AND GOT ALL OF THEM AND READ THEM ALL IN ONE SITTING! LOVED THEM
This was a quirky and funny interesting read. It held my attention until the end and I enjoyed reading this during my summer vacation.
This book was a bit on the simple side. I never really cared for the characters, and never felt the suspense I was expecting.
Sometimes you just want to be entertained, and not have to work at making sense of things. This book is entertaining without dumbing down the writing.
Easy read! The type of story that keeps you guessing who the crazy killer is.
i think the characters could have used more depth, and as a murder mystery, it could have been a little more buildup of the murderer.
A very fun read.
Enjoyed it thoroughly. In fact reread it the other day
A fun and easy read, with some fascinating characters and unexpected twists. I loved this relaxing vacation read.
I really enjoyed. The books. I felt very tuned into the characters. I hope there are more in series. A lot of humor too.
I read this book to my husband as we made a 3000 mile trip. It was easy to follow and entertaining. After a rest stop, my husband actually asked when I was going to resume reading because he wanted to know what happened next to the characters. If you are looking for a light read with a little mystery thrown in, this would be a good option.
