Nothing bad ever happens in Ponderosa Pines
At least, that’s what anonymous gossip columnist Chloe LaRue and her best friend, town matriarch EV Torrence thought—until a resident of their sleepy little village turns up dead. When EV becomes suspect #1, even Chloe can’t stop the rumor mill from churning.

I thought it was just going to be a simple cute little story but was I wrong! This book has great in depth characters and the mystery takes more turns and twists so that even I couldn’t guess who dunit. I’ve read so many mysteries that I can usually figure out the ending before it comes but this one got me. A great book!!
I finished the book but it didn’t really grab my attention. I felt the characters unbelievable.
Great characters and story line. Great start to a series.
Predictable text, unimaginable characters. Glad it was free.
Easy summer read. Enjoyable light reading.
Too repetitive. Same suspicions repeated over and over in too many conversations.
Light storyline with great work in establishing setting. Great easy reading.
Not to my taste…prefer books where the heroine is not thinking or acting on her baser instincts.
Quite a few unexpected twists. Typical small town gossip fueling the speculations on ” who done it”.
Cute little mystery that keeps your attention and has great characters. Some twists and turns but easy to guess what’s coming. Good light reading for summer.
Great read!
A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining cozy mystery in a delightful setting.
This is a superbly written cozy mystery with an entertaining plot. Good character development, too, I especially enjoyed the relationship between EV and Chloe! It was so well written, in fact, that I really couldn’t remove a star for the unfortunate inclusion of cats. YUCK!!!
A fun quick read
