Betrayed by heaven, protected by hell. The devil and his hellhounds will do anything to keep their angel safe. When archangel Gabriel manipulates Lili Kazana, severing her wings so she can be his spy in Hell, rescue comes in the most unlikely form: protective Cerny, sweet Russ, gruff Bernard, and the devil himself. Lili is hesitant to trust her rescuers, but with humanity at stake from a demon … stake from a demon invasion and her angel ex-boyfriend on the warpath, Lili has no choice but to rely on Lucifer and the three shifters. It doesn’t hurt that they’re sexy as sin and want to take care of her. Every inch of her.
Cast From Heaven is a medium burn romance, with a damaged, innocent angel and the four demons devoted to her. This book is RH, which means Lili doesn’t have to pick a favourite of her protectors – why choose when you can have all four?

Cast from Hell is a medium-burn reverse harem paranormal romance about a young angel who is betrayed by the man she thought she loved. Her wings are cut from her and she is shoved from Heaven by him and his cronies. She had agreed to help him with a mission that would have been dangerous for him, but what she never expected was his betrayal and then to find comfort and real love with the demons of Hell who rescue her after her forced fall.
Cast from Heaven is the first book that I have read by Leigh Kelsey and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The author gives me a soft and naïve angel named Lili. I’ve had soft and naïve characters before, but let me tell you Lili is truly naïve. The minute I read her experiences with Gabriel and how he treats her I was shocked. It is obvious that he was essentially her first in everything so she doesn’t know that she deserves so much better than what scraps he threw her way. She is half angel half demon and sadly she is looked down on because of her heritage. But trust me when I say this… there is a method behind all this madness. So when she encounters the demons after her forced fall, I’m happy that they show her the flip side of everything that she has experienced. They show her that love is gentle, love is kind, and love is…loving. Granted yes, they don’t know each other well, but that’s why it’s a medium- burn. We get some fun while Lili learns the truth and grows to love these guys.
The author does an excellent job with this story in my opinion. We get some predictable situations, but the author does a great job throwing in a few surprises. I will admit that I raised my eyebrows more than a couple of times when certain situations arose. I really wasn’t expecting so them so they totally hooked me further into the story and I eagerly devoured this book to get more.
There isn’t much that I don’t like about this book. The book has been well-edited overall, but there were a couple of minor errors that managed to slip through, but they aren’t serious enough or numerous enough to detract or distract from the overall storyline. For those who don’t like cliffhangers…sorry, but there is one. It is not a major one, but it’s one that will tug at your heart nonetheless.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. The characters are well done, there aren’t any nasty bumps or lags in the storyline, and it comes together rather nicely. If you love a good paranormal romance novel and don’t mind a naïve character who is innocent, but not OVERLY innocent then this is a good book to grab up.
Ohhh so now I’ve read this and need to find out what happens next. This is one of those reads where you can’t stop reading, you need finish. I throughly enjoyed this book. And recommend it to those RH lovers
This book is about Lili who is half angel/ half demon who goes back home after completing school only to find that she trusted the wrong person. Lili is then kicked into a world she knows nothing about and doesn’t know who she can trust.
This book was a good read that was full of angels, demons, magic, deceit, caring and Lucifer. Had a good cliffhanger ending that will open up so much more in book 2
I’m not really one for heaven and hell books – but this one sucked me in from the first page and kept me turning up all through the book! I was super furious with Gabriel and totally would have helped Lili with her plan for revenge! (I really hope that its as satisfactory as I hope it will be!!!!)
Wow…if every demon is as hot, caring and kind as these four…..the book was written really well and if I could make a breach through my kindle, then I’d totally aim for reaching those four!
I can’t wait to read more of this series – it’s an amazing start with the first book and I totally recommend reading about Lili’s journey.
My only gripe with the story was its ending….as in – how did I read the book so fast? It can’t be over already!!! I. want. moooooorrreeeee!!! *quietly starts stalking the authors facebook webpage for more details about the next book* 🙂
I recieved a free copy via Bookfunnel and voluntarily leave my honest review.
I honestly did not like the character of Lili at the beginning of this story. She was naive, childish, and helpless (I absolutely can’t stand that in female characters). But as the story progresses she starts to find herself and her strength with the help of Lucifer, Cerny, Russ, and Bernard. After her character started developing I finished the book quickly and now I’m addicted. Can not wait for the next book!!!!
I recieved this book through Bookfunnel as an arc copy
Amazing start of a new series!!!
Angels and demons?, sign me up!!!… Love this book so much, I adore angels VS demons stories, but this one is different, original… Lili is an amazing, innocent, naive angel, who’s world is destroyed when the man she loves betrays her and sends her to the most horrible place, or so she thought … Now, she is finding out the good guys are not that good and the bad guys are not really bad, OMG what a mess, she is so confused!!! … Great world building and stroy line, amazing MC, can’t wait for the next book!!!
Great read! I found the book very compelling. It held my attention the whole way through. I had a few choice words for some of the very well written characters. The depth and growth of each character was perfect. I did find a few moments in the book a bit cliche where I wrinkled my nose but these moments did not affect my love for the book. I found the action in the book to be well balanced and thought out. I felt it gave an interesting spin on Hell and it’s ruler. Overall there was a very well known bad guy you could hate the whole time and a woman looking to prove herself worthy of self love and acceptance. Oh and there were the 4 steamy demons that put a little fire in the mix. Ha. Lastly I can’t wait to read the next one.
Ever since I joined a Reverse Harem reading group on Facebook about a week ago, this entire new world has opened up for me and I can’t believe that I’ve never found it before. Me, the girl who made endless lists of boys she’d daydream off. Me, the girl who had a hard time choosing which of those boys she liked most. Me, the girl who thinks that “both is good” or “all is good” is a valid answer to a love triangle.
One of the books posted in this group was this book and it was love at first sight. The blurb already convinced me that this was totally gonna be my thing, but the book itself did that even more. Lili, half angel and half demon, is an amazing character. She’s both badass and innocent, sweet and mean, strong and weak. She can protect and needs protection. She can love and needs love. She’s the best of both worlds and I liked her instantly.
I also really love the way Heaven, Hell and the war between them is portrayed in this book. The book uses elements of different religions. There are archangels, demons, there’s Lucifer, but there are also Greek Gods. The descriptions of both Heaven and Hell are rich and I love how Kelsey plays with the expectations we have, sometimes living up to them and sometimes surprising us. The best element: The blurred lines between good and evil.
Apart from that, this story also had a strong plot. Of course, there are mature scenes in this book and there is a relationship blooming, but there is also a story and there’s a lot of focus on the story. And in the finale, when a lot of elements from this book come together and lead to a heartbreaking cliffhanger, I was on the edge of my seat and I just couldn’t stop reading anymore.
I totally want to read the rest of the story, because this first book had me hooked!
