I am really glad I got the complete set. I started out reading the first in the trilogy and of course, with any good book you have to read the next because you want to know what is going to happen with the characters. So that is why I bought this the complete trilogy of Casino Players Saga. Darla and Anton are so cute together then there is the devious Surgeon Dr. Henri Simone, I sort of guessed what was going on with him going back and forth to France every Summer and taking so many trips but like the saying all is well that ends well. Pax and Anton became friends again and Pax got the help he needed for his gambling addiction and Darla and Anton got to build a family together.
Good romance
It’s a good romantic trilogy between two people who meet by chance: Darla who comes to save her indebted brother, but also to tell him that she stops helping him, and Anton, the casino director, friend of Darla’s brother . But what is proposed by Anton to settle the dispute is quite specific, bringing Darla and Anton together. However, if the latter was at the origin of the agreement, he wants more and does not suspect the great secret of Drala who challenges all these projects.
The story is well written with a few unpredictable twists and turns.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Annabeth Saryu, ‘The Casino Player’s Saga’, 1-3.
As a Hidden Gems ARC reader I received a free copy and promised an honest review. Here it is.
Rating: 4 stars (of 5).
In general: Complicated second chance love.
This novel is called a trilogy, but in reality is one book, divided in three parts:
1. All in; 2. Double or Nothing; 3. Ante Up.
The main characters are Darla Simone and Anton du Bruyn. They meet in a bar, talk and like each other.
Darla just traveled from Texas to Las Vegas to meet her brother Pax Lamar, who has a gambling addiction and is deeply in debts. Darla is a self-made owner of a big cleaning company in Texas and wants to help her brother on the condition that he’s going in rehab. And she wants to meet the person with whom Pax has his debts. And yes, surprise (!), that’s Anton. Mr. Du Bruyn appears to be the very wealthy owner of casinos and hotels, amongst others in LV.
In the the past Pax was a friend of Anton. The latter knew nothing about Pax’ addiction and therefore reacted too easy when his friend’s debts were rising. Partly because of Pax sometimes refunded Anton a bit with money he got from Darla with an excuse.
The author, Annabeth Saryu, then creates an exiting story in which she tells how Darla and Anna find love, solve their conflicting financial interests and handle their very complicated family problems. She introduces some wonderful characters, writes in an easy-to-read style including some nice sex scenes, good dialogues and a few unexpected turns in a plot with a predictable happy end.
For me the book was a pleasure to read.
