A mindful good ending that ties everything up nicely and satisfies and satiates the reader’s need for a complete ending.
Case: 2 manages to keep the same mood and energy as the previous installments and is a must-read for anyone who has read the previous instalments in the Annalise Storm Chronicles.
Though only three books long, the Annalise Storm Chronicles have been a complete delight to read. May Freighter has given the world some really good work with these volumes. The wrap-up is every bit as good as the other volumes if not even better. Secrets get revealed and seemingly all question from the series are given sufficient answering. Wonderful book and a wonderful series.

I’m numb. I’m emotionally drained, mentally exhausted, and numb. I was prepared for a roller-coaster ride, but I wasn’t in the least prepared for where this book actually took me. I knew it was going to take something dramatic, and quite possibly epic, in order for this story to wrap up with anything even remotely resembling a happy ending. I didn’t expect to be a distraught ugly-crying mess by the end of the book, though. Mavel, Anna, and Devlin go through so much in this story. I had my heart set on an outcome that’s different than how this wrapped up. It’s going to take me a while to come to terms with not getting the type of happy ever after I wanted to see. It’s beautiful and moving (see the note about Me: the emotional mess, above). It’s just not how I’d hoped it would happen.

This is a great final in this series. Secrets, lies, mystery, and forbidden romance are just of what is in this incredible series and is one I would definitely recommend!
Conspiracies, action, crazy twists and turns, oh boy is May Freighter‘s Case: 2: A Sci-Fi Mystery Novel (Annalise Storm Chronicles Book 3) a wild and exciting ride. I love Annalise and how she takes on everything thrown at her. This superbly written crazily complex series is a pure adrenaline shot of fun to read. You need to start with the first book (Case: 0) but it’s a trip well worth taking. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
Case: 2 (Annalise Storm Chronicles Book 3) by May Freighter is a wonderful story to read. It is book number three in this series and I fell in love with this series. This is a wonderful story with strong characters and a wonderful story line, I highly recommend this story to everyone.

This is the end of the Annalise Storm Chronicles, and with that thought in mind I write this bittersweet review. I’ve eagerly awaited the next installment in this series without realizing that it would be the last. I can honestly say that I hate to see it end, but understand that sometimes a character has told us all she intends to tell us. This story does not leave us wanting for more. It wraps up nicely although not without a few tears along the way. May Freighter does an excellent job of writing characters that make you care about them. It is easy to become vested in her characters which is why it is hard to say goodbye to them.
Super read
I simply loved the plot, the characters and the story has an unusual and very original atmosphere. It is impossible not to vibrate with the main character and her doubts, the duality of her feelings surrounds us and leaves us completely helpless to choose the one with whom Annalise must stay! I was pleasantly surprised by the final choice of the author… 🙂
I strongly recommend to read this trilogy!
The mob bosses were gathered to discuss the best way to distribute the recently deceased Hamer’s territory without a war breaking out among the gangs. Opal and Nine had already been bickering and Falhar was trying to settle them down so they could get on with this. Suddenly the door burst open and a confident woman with long black hair strode in, leaving the security guards on the floor behind her. She put an envelope on the table saying she wanted the named building to be protected since there was someone in there she wanted kept safe. Then she walked out. Opal spoke up, confused why all of the men were so intimidated by her. Apparently she was the one who killed Hamer despite 50 guards protecting him. She was more dangerous than all of them put together.
Detective Annalise Storm could not imagine why ETek was sending her and Devlin Madoc to work a case that others were far more qualified for. But before she arrived at the ETek Building, Devlin claimed another meeting and asked her to stop the vehicle while he got out and let her proceed on her own. The reception area was empty, so she sat down and waited 20 minutes before someone said Mr. Fox was ready to see her. When she realized he had seen her the entire time behind his holographic office glass, just to stroke his ego, she added him to her hate list. She looked at her wrist, concerned that the bug her brother Xavier had planted in her comm unit would allow him to hear things she did not want him to know. Mr. Fox saw her glance and assured her he had taken care of the problem, looping the video of her waiting as well as preventing their discussion from being heard. He had also hacked her comms and bugged her car. There had been an attempt to kill Mr. Fox that morning, and he wanted her to investigate “off the books”. The police AI worked for Mr. Fox also and would keep him informed.
Devlin had a secret he did not want revealed to Annalise. He had to stay out of ETek HQ always, or his pureblood status on scanners would vanish. Fox picking him for this case had to be a play to force his modded status to be revealed. He was going to need a plan!
The author creates a magnificent picture of this world that perfectly lets the reader understand the society’s structure, with color-named districts denoting the classification of each social group in the population. Everything is very regimented in this world! I loved this whole series! The characters are outstanding, well developed and with distinct personalities. This story line was excellent with plenty of action and suspense! I highly recommend it!
I really enjoyed reading this book (and finishing up the series with this edition). In this book, Annalise ends up mixed in with the battles between the races (as in, purebood vs. modded). She is paired with a confusingly persuasive new partner on the force, and ends up seeking out her first love and previous beast, Mavel.
Heartbreak, mystery and enchantment is all wrapped up with this final novel in the series. If you are a fan of futuristic novels set a dystopian society that contain advanced tech, you will enjoy reading this book, though I recommend you start by reading Case:0.
