From New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, comes another sexy standalone novel…Once upon a time, I loved him. He broke me and he didn’t even know it. I ran from him. He didn’t chase me. He never needed to, because he knew I’d come back. He was right. Death brought me home to him. Brett Walker. Drop dead gorgeous and filthy-mouthed with a smile that turns saints to sinners. A casanova to … that turns saints to sinners.
A casanova to his core.
My ex-best friend.
And the bad boy whose reputation precedes him—the same reputation I’m tasked with turning to gold… Or so they think.
Revenge is a dish best served cold, after all…

Another great read from this author. She’s definitely becoming one of those authors that I one-click.
Brett is a stuck-up, arrogant, filthy mouthed yet charming womanizer that no matter how bad you want to throw something at him, you just can’t help but like him. When he has one too many missteps, his family steps in to try and clean up his image.
Lani comes back to town for her grandmother’s funeral and ends up staying to help out her sister. Oh so many years ago, Brett broke her heart and when Brett’s dad hires her to be the one to clean up Brett’s image, she sees a chance to get some sweet revenge on him. But things don’t go as planned and both are not seeing what’s right in front of them. One step at a time, they will see that there’s more than meets the eye and not everything is always as it seems…
I quite enjoyed reading this story and I definitely had some laughs reading the banter between Brett and Lani. I can’t wait to read the next one.
Casanova is a standalone novel by someone that just recently gained myself as a fan. The first book I read by Emma was Being Brooke and now I am addicted. Thanks Kara for putting her books onto my TBR. I love the way Emma can make me laugh and swoon at the same time. And with Casanova and his kitten, she did just that and more…
Eight years. It’s been eight years since Lani was home in a small town in Florida. She ran from the boy that broke her heart and now she was back. All she wanted to do was stay long enough to do what she needed to do and run again. She didn’t want to see Brett Walker. Fate had other plans for her. Once Brett walks back into her life, she can’t seem to get rid of him. That asshole just had to look hotter than ever with a smile to melt panties, peek-a-boo tattoos and a filthy mouth. He might have changed in a bad boy Casanova over the years but her Brett was still in there. Only he came out when he only wanted him to. The Brett of the past broke her heart without him even knowing it. Can Lani let it go enough to get to find out more about the man Brett has turned into? To find the good in the man that the town has only seen the bad in. Or will she go another route and serve him some revenge?
Brett can not believe that she is home. It’s been eight years since he saw his best friend. He doesn’t know why she left the way she did. Without saying goodbye. That day changed him. She doesn’t know it. And with the way Lani looks at him she doesn’t want to hear it. She is different. She is not that shy girl with her nose stuck in a book. She was adorable then but now she is gorgeous without knowing it. She is also feisty. He loves it. He even craves seeing her with her claws out. She thinks she can help turn his reputation around with a few articles in the paper about him. What she doesn’t realize is that he doesn’t give a shit about what they think. But he does care about her. Then why can’t he stop being an asshole? A filthy-mouthed one at that. Oh this is going to be fun.
So…I am in love with a Casanova. Brett Walker is one the the sweetest assholes I know. He is also ridiculous, filthy, cocky, smart, and oh so charming. He also has a secret that the family is keeping under wrap. He really is a puzzle that Lani has to put together and she is the only woman to do it. The only one that can get close enough to the notorious bad boy. And speaking of Lani…I love her too! She is independent, witty, and doesn’t take Brett’s bullshit. Together, their banter is epic. They could go from making me laugh to getting all kinds of hot and bothered in seconds. They are like watching a ping pong game at times. And Lani wants to win. She doesn’t want to give in to him. She also doesn’t want to give up on him either.
Overall…It’s a fun ride with emotional twists. I really loved every single moment of their story. The characters will make you laugh but underneath the surface their is so much more to them.
Quotes:
“My face is up here.”
“I know,” I said to her legs. “I’ll get there in a minute.”
“The last life advice you gave involved vibrators.”
“That was solid life advice.”
“Solid.” Connie giggled.
“You’re so pretty when you’re mad at me.” I grinned and tapped her nose.
“Will I be pretty if I murder you?”
Oh wow! Want a fabulous read that took me on an emotional roller-coaster ride. Chapter 15 nearly broke me and is one I’ve thought about all day. I loved loved loved Brett and Lani, and I’m excited to read Raven’s book, which I’ve already downloaded. I can’t recommend this book enough
Emma Hart can do no wrong!!
Every single book written by Emma has quickly become some of my favourite books of all time. Casanova is no exception.
Brett Walker is a smooth talking, dirty mouthed, hot piece of man. He had me panting over the mere thought of him. After this novel, Brett has definitely made my list of top book boyfriends.
This novel was so sexy and steamy that I fell right back into the world of Emma Hart.
Emma could write a dictionary, and I would still fall in love. Go pick up Casanova today to see what my raving is all about!!
5/5 Stars!
Sometimes you can come home again
I love Whiskey Key! Lani and Brett’s hate to love story is wonderful! Sweet, witty, steamy, with a dash of angst & drama. Perfect. Now I need to re-read Raven’s story!
Brett compliments his woman in a macho man way, “your *** looks really good in the those shorts. Spankably good, actually.” It’s always about compromise where Brett is concerned, “now get in the shower. If you won’t let me eff you again, at least let me grope you.” Brett knows how to learn from his mistakes, “kitten, the last time I tried to wake you up, you slapped me in the face.” I loved this book, we were introduced to some new characters that were totally lovable, and making me want their stories
I am a complete sucker for anything by Emma Hart. She has one of my most favourite writing styles. She writes amazing love, heart thumping chemistry and incredible humour.
Casanova follows Brett Walker who is an arrogant jerk. He is attractive and knows he is gods gift to women. He has spent 8 years making some poor life choices and mistakes. The small town community he lives in is just waiting for him to self combust.
Lani Montana moved away 8 years ago, after Brett Walker broke her heart. He didn’t know he broke her heart. He didn’t know that she was madly in love with him.
When Lani has to come home to attend her grandmother’s funeral, all she hopes for is to NOT have to see Brett. Unfortunately Brett’s family has other ideas.
The Walker family know that Lani is a freelance journalist. They also know that the town thinks Brett is a massive screw up. So when they enlist Lani to write a few articles to try and sway the town’s perception of Brett, it means that she can no longer outrun the hurt he caused her.
I loved this story. My heart really connected to Brett and Lani. I had my fingers crossed the whole book that it was going to have the outcome I wanted.
Yet again, Emma Hart has captured great sexual tension, angst and emotion.
Can hardly wait to read Raven’s story next!!
