A dreamer. An artist. A woodcarver. For Cas, raised with seven brothers by the indomitable Miss Ethel, he reveled in being able to be himself. And when Bianca moved into the house across the street, he had no idea his childhood friend would eventually become a young love, only to be taken away.Years later, both on their own, Cas and Bianca discover that sometimes miracles can repeat themselves … can repeat themselves and second chances are possible.
A Heroes at Heart novel. These men, raised in the loving foster home by the benevolent Miss Ethel, discovered there lies a hero in all of us. Based loosely on the fairy tale, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Scenes and language similar to what you would find in an R-rated movie.

This final story in the author’s wonderful series, Heroes at Heart , is bittersweet.
While the story is about the second chance romance of Cas and Bianca is one that is touching with some suspense and action thrown in, it’s the message spread throughout the entire series that remains in my mind and in my heart.
Miss Ethel was the foster mother that gave love, values , and taught morals to eight boys that for one reason or another had no family. She created a family with a bond no one could ever break. Her “boys” became men of honor who found women that complimented them.
Each story was thought provoking and heartfelt , and this last one, beautifully wrapped up the series.
Kudos to the author for another wonderful story and a memorable finale.
Be sure to have your hankies ready.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Cas: Heroes at Heart is the final book in this wonderfully written series by the talented Maryann Jordan. This is a story about family, loss and love, it will definitely pull at your heartstrings make you smile or giggle at times and bring a tear or two other times. I was unable to put this book down it was such a wonderful story. Cas is a dreamer and an artist who has been loved and raised along side his seven brothers by the loving Miss Ethel. One day Cas is looking for some alone time but his time is interrupted by the adorable and energetic new neighbor Bianca. This is just the start to a very enjoyable read, I want to say so much more but I don’t want to give any of this great story away. All I want to say is this was a sweet end to one of my favorite series. I hope you will enjoy this story as much as I did. If this is your first Heroes at Heart book I recommend you read the others in this series to get to know all the great characters. This is a mush read and a book you won’t want to miss.
This was a fantastic ending to this series! It seems like a very fitting end and I love that we got to see everyone together one last time.
There was some suspense as all of Maryann Jordan’s books have. And the romance was on point. The twists and turns in this book kept me guessing all the way to the end!
Fairy tales can come true in Maryann Jordan’s Heroes at Heart Series! Cas is the last book in the series of eight foster brothers raised under the loving guidance of Miss Ethel. Each one has followed their dreams and found their forever love except for Cas, the dreamer and artist. When his passion for woodworking turning into a business, his only regret is that he has no one to share his life with.
Bianca, his childhood friend and teenage love who moved away with her family, is never far from his mind. Little does he know that Bianca feels the same and when they meet again it’s like they’ve never been apart! Now they have what was missing in their lives. Bianca is finally home with her seven giant dwarfs and her huntsman and shield Cas!
The last chapters had me praying for a happy ending and, as usual, Maryann Jordan delivered.
I received an ARC of this book but my review is my own,
I came late to this series, starting with Zeke, but then working my way back to Zander because Miss Ethel’s boys get into your heart and you can’t get enough. And sadly, Cas is the last of her boys, and thus the last of the series. There are wonderful cameos from the others and their wives, and of course a starring role for Miss Ethel herself, both from Cas’s youth and now. And, as a loose retelling of Snow White and the seven dwarfs, there must, of course, be a Snow White, and that is Bianca, whose initial meeting with Cas speaks so much of his character and her persistence. The serendipitous nature of their reconnection is vintage Maryann Jordan too, and she’s woven the fairy-tale in so smoothly, with that truly evil Wicked Stepmother and, of course, the Woodsman himself. I shall miss Miss Ethel and these boys.
This was a great ending to the series, I highly recommend the series Cas and Bianca met when they were 13 and 11 years old. They seem to havGood friendship until Bianca’s stepmother convinced her father to move toCalifornia. Then at least a decade they didn’t see each other until
Bianca’ came back upon her Dad’s death to the only place she was truly happy
In Virginia with Miss Ethyl and her boys.
Oh this book will take you on a journey.
This was such a great read, it drew me in and made me feel like I was part of the story!
5 stars is not enough for this book.
What a beautiful story to end this absolutely amazing series!!! Snow White and The Seven Giants!!!
Cas met Bianca when she moved in across the street. When she first heard he had 7 brothers, she referred to them as dwarfs until she met them and then changed it to giants. They spent a lot of time together. Bianca’s mom had passed and at first it was just her and her dad until Lucille came along. Right as Cas is leaving for the military, Bianca finds out she is moving.
Twelve years later she heads back to Virginia. She finds out by accident who her neighbor is. She is also being harassed by her step uncle.
Will her and Cas be able to finally have the relationship they both wanted before? Will she be able to get rid of her stepmother and step uncle?
Heartwarming and tender, this last installment in the Heroes at Hearts series made me cry because it is the last story. I’ve grown to love Miss Ethel and her 8 sons, or her giants, as Bianca calls them. All the stores are loosely based on fairy tales and Maryann Jordan saves Snow White for last. As always, this book should come with a hanky warning. I didn’t cry until the last chapters and the Epilogue. I’ve loved all of these books and Cas and Bianca’s story was a winner. Even if you haven’t read all of the other 7 previous books, Cas is a great stand alone story. But trust me, you will want to read them all!
Cas was a marvelous second chance love story with lots of feels. Maryann Jordan filled Cas full of wonderful story telling, and I could not put it down. The 8 brothers adopted Bianca as their honorary little sister after she charmed them with her imagination and love of life. Miss Ethel’s boys truly were heroes with big hearts! Cas and Bianca reunited after a lot of years apart, and they never forgotten about each other. They grew closer as they discovered that they were both artistic souls. Don’t miss this fabulous book!
There is something magical about Maryann Jordan’s Heroes at Heart series. I am always charmed and feel uplifted after reading one of the books. I freely admit to getting teary eyed at times while reading. A few of them are sad but mostly they are happy ones. Since Cas is the series finale I was overjoyed that Maryann devoted a few paragraphs to updating us on each one of Miss Ethel’s boys and their families. It was an amazing way for it all to end.
When they first met 11 year old Bianca declared that 13 year old Cas was her shield, her protector. Now 12 years later those words seem quite prophetic. Theirs is a love story that begins as children when they become friends and find their way back to each other after years of separation. There’s a lot that happens in between and it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. But as with all fairytales they live happily ever after.
Cas and Bianca – what a story.
Be prepared to have your emotions attacked, such a heartfelt story that is not apparent at the beginning of the story. As usual the story has a HEA, but this is different…….
Maryann has left the plot at a very intriguing place!!
I love all of Maryann Jordan’s series but Heroes at Heart is my favorite. Anyone who knows me knows Miss Ethel, I talk about her so much. This latest story did not disappoint. It was exciting from beginning to end. At times I was laughing and others reaching for the tissues. I envy Miss Ethel and her boys ability to quote their favorite authors. I find some of the quotes so meaningful that I save them. Cas is a must read!
