Staying away was harder than he thought … arrived. Considering this was one of the missing War Dogs that Titanium Corp was handling, Carter was happy to assist. Maybe even relieved as it gave him a reason to go where he’d been afraid to go before.
Walking into her partner’s office to find his dead body on the floor had sent Hailey down a nightmarish path that never seemed to end. Then it had started with Carter’s arrival. What else should she expect from the man who she’d always loved and who had rejected her time and time again. She’d hoped the attraction to him would have lessened by now, but it was even worse.
As the body count mounts, and the town takes sides, Hailey realizes that Carter was always the one to back her up, even when it meant he could die in this fight that’s gone to hell. Particularly when Carter finds the missing K9 dog, and his current owner is on the wrong side of the war …
Only Carter doesn’t care, knowing he’d always stand on the side of right, but maybe—if he was lucky this time—he wouldn’t be standing alone …

When Carter investigates the disappearance of K9 Matzuka he never expected to end up looking at possible money laundering, embezzlement and murder. So much mystery and intrigue are in this fast paced and exciting story which I thoroughly enjoyed.
In search of a missing war dog Carter returns to his second home, a ranch in Montana. A case of a missing dog becomes so much more, as more and more accidents, more actions occur. It is another page turner and a stand alone tale. Bravo!

Carter doesn’t go in lightly, it’s straight into action, murder and intrigue. Most of this story isn’t about the dog though he definitely plays a big part in helping deal with the other problems. Hailey is in big trouble, so is the town, something major is going down and she has ended up.caught right in the middle of it all. Lots of action and suspense, exciting and gripping story throughout. Interesting and I could quite see something like this going on for real in a town like this where one family have spread and virtually taken over the whole place, family having grown and married until pretty much everyone is related in some way. I loved the characters, they were easy to get to know. I really enjoyed that the story had depth and a lot of different angles going on that actually spread from just a small starting point and spiralled out, all for greed. This is a real humdinger of a book, fabulous.
Carter is an stubborn as they come and he has definitely met his match in Hailey. Carter has avoided home until Geir sends him after an Army dog that is missing. Once in town, he meets up with his old friend and his sister, who has always had a crush on Carter. Both Carter and Hailey have a knack for accounting numbers which comes in handy when both of the partners at Hailey’s firm are murdered and she discovers someone has been cooking the books. But, Carter’s military background comes in handy when they start dodging bullets and overthrowing an evil family branch trying to rule the town. Very fast moving and interesting book.

An all action book right from the start sees us with Carter, a jack of all trades, for Titanium security (Men of steel series) going on a mission to his best friends ranch to find Matzuka, an ex war dog assigned a home but didn’t arrive. Hailey is the women who has always loved Carter but he broke her heart…..twice. As the bodies start piling up it soon become clear that one family with lots of connections are responsible for the town. Can they find the dog and take down the family hell bent on ruining a town???? Some really great characters throughout the book and I thought Carter and Hailey worked so well together even though she felt the way she did. Can’t wait for Westons book because I know it’s going to be good.
This K9 Files series may well be the best K9 series in contemporary romance today. Geir and Cade’s Titanium Corp has been tasked with locating several War Dogs who served their country and were shipped to new homes across the states. The missions are supposed to be more of a wellness check, but each dog seems to need the retired soldier who finds it as much as the soldier needs the dog. Then there’s the added benefit of these brave, broken soldiers also finding love.
Carter and Gordon are best friends, but after Carter’s combat injuries and months of surgeries and rehab, he hasn’t been able to face either Gordon or his sister, Hailey. Now Carter is headed to Montana to look for the latest War Dog, but when he gets to town, he finds more than he ever bargained for. Finding a lost K9 is the least of his worries, as danger mounts and the body count rises.
If you haven’t read any of the books in this series, you’re really missing out. They stand alone and can be read in any order, so Carter’s book is the perfect place to start. With nail-biting drama and edge-of-the-seat suspense, this quick, intense read will hold you in its grip from the first page to the last. If you like second chances for a hero as well as his K9 companion, you’ll love this riveting, heartfelt, fantastic read.
Another excellent book by Dale. There is lot’s of danger, intrigue, deaths possible takeovers. Carter goes back to Montana to look for the next K-9 missing. While he’s in Montana he visits his friend, and see Hailey again. When her company comes under fire and someone messing with their ranch, something has to be done, especially with corrupt law in town. HEA.
