And when rereading then the whole series at once
The second Carter book is the culminate point about Emma’s and Carter’s story and a glimpse in their future. This book takes you on a journey through grief, war and heartbreaking feelings.
An emotional and gripping story with so much action and drama, that it would be enough for two other books.
In a real mafia style Carter teaches the whole mafia world what it means to “touch” someone that he loves.
This man is a hot blooded killer though and though, but for Emma’s safety he has turned into a avenging angel. Gosh, he is so damn ridiculous perfect and hot
Emma proved that she is the right woman for Carter. She showed total disregard for her own safety to save the love of her life She is a badass women and the perfect partner for Carter. I just love this book.
And the epilogue and bonus scene is so damn good
So much action and suspense, twists and turns, my heart couldn’t calm down well after reading!! Carter checks all the boxes in his fierceness, power, and vulnerability to Emma Only. We met Cole, and I one-clicked his book SO fast!! I can’t wait to dig in!!

yep reading it this book for the 3rd time. Still gets me every time I read it. I love Cater reed and Carter reed 2. Thank you Tijan for being an amazing Author !!
Carter Reed said he was out…out of the mob that is…out of the Mauricio Family to be exact. However, as he gets out, he wants to ensure that Cole Mauricio finds his rightful place as head of the Mauricio Family. The elders in the family do not trust Cole, but that is alright because after losing every single member of his immediate family, he trusts no one…except for Carter Reed.
Carter is out, but THEY want him back in. They are even willing to go after his heart (Emma) to try to force him back in. Will they realize their mistake before it is too late? Or will more lives be lost?
Tijan had me gripping the edge of my seat the entire time that I was reading this amazing, action packed story. This woman can write like no other, and she just gives is her all in every story, in every different genre she writes. She is my go to author because everything that she writes addicts me like a drug. I cannot wait for my next hit of Tijan.
Tijan wraps up Emma and Carter’s story in such a twisty way…up until the very last moment you think they’re not going to make it. But…Huzzah, they do! Grab this duet. You will NOT regret it!
I am so happy the author gave us a second book. Carter Reed is one of my favorite characters. I loved this book as much as the first one. I definitely recommend this book and this series.
Carter Reed #2. You will never get enough of Carter Reed. I beg you, if you’ve never read this to do it now. Steaming my glasses up !!
Not gonna lie…
I LOVED it. I really enjoyed the continuation, however, I need more. I won’t summarize or tease you all. You will love it. I just want to know what happens next…
In this Carter Reed sequel, Emma and Carter find themselves thrust back into the mob life they’d bought their way out of. A major player in the Mauricio family makes a return and all eyes are on him and the man that kept him alive all these years, Carter Reed. With Carter’s allegiance being pulled towards his mob brother Cole, he has no choice but to get involved with the Mauricio family again. When a warring mob family threatens the one person Carter has spent his life protecting, he falls deeper into his old life and The Cold Killer starts to re-emerge in an effort to keep Emma protected.
This installment had a few surprises that were quite enjoyable and some twists that had me wanting to throw my iPad across the room. Carter tried his hardest to keep Emma out of harms way but she’s not some wilting flower, she holds her own even when Carter urges her to stay home.
Emma, along with most of Tijan’s female characters, have this great combination of being totally bad-ass and strong, mixed with this vulnerability and emotional nakedness. This is one of a few things I really love about Tijan’s writing. Another thing I love is how all-consumingly (I don’t think that’s actually a word. Oh, well) the heroes love the heroines. Tijan’s heroes seem to have this extreme capacity to love and they love so hard, it’s awesome. So, heroes that love super hard, a hefty dose of drama, and heroines that can be emotional without it detracting from their badass-ness, a few things you might encounter in this book and other Tijan books.
