First of all, let me say this. PIPER STONE if you’re reading this review, then I want you to know I really, really, really hope you turn this into a series!!!!! Now back to our regularly scheduled review. In case you didn’t get the impression already, this is a phenomenal book. The world-building which put me right in the middle of things, the storyline that pulled me in and kept me intrigued, the plot that ran through the entire story kept me in a state of anticipation, and then there’s the characters. Both main and secondary characters will find a way to pull at your emotions and reactions. You won’t even be consciously aware of it. The passion, emotion, and chemistry between Kathleen and Maximillian was just over the top, in your face, melt worthy. There are so many stories yet to tell and so many small details I want to know. I really do hope this is the first of many from this world.

WOW!! This is one of the hottest, steamiest books I’ve read in a while. Totally engrossed in it. Unable to stop reading! The main characters are soo into each other and the storyline is interesting. I literally read it straight thru.
If this is a sample of her skills then Piper has just become my new fave author. If you love super hot and a good story then this is for you.

This is an awesome book; the plot is fast-paced, and the author’s use of descriptive writing drew me into the story from the get-go. The characters have a lot of depth to them and are wonderfully written. A great book.

Dark shifter and human cop
Carnal is a bit of a different story that I am used to reading by Piper Stone but it is interesting and still has a number of the same things readers expect in a book by this author. Max is a Wolfen and hides his darker side. Kathleen is human and his mate. But she is also a police officer and is smart and has inner strength. There is a murder, mystery, darkness, drama, suspense, romance and of course a lot of sexy and steamy chemistry.
This story is very fascinating and kept me reading from start to finish. I loved the characters and their interactions were wonderful, along with more than a little steamy hotness to light up my Kindle long into the night.

The ending gave me goosebumps.
The good kind.
But the entire book had me entranced.
Despite the near brutality between the main character during their journey, I could not stop reading for a moment. The world of the Wolfen is a complex one. I would love to learn more. But Piper, whats going to happen with Stone?
I would highly recommend this book.

I don’t think I have read a bad book from this author and what an imagination and a way with words she has. This story had me gripped from the very beginning. A really good intriguing story which sent me down the wrong road, thinking of who could do the the terrible killings. Plenty of hearts in the mouth reading some of the story. Maximilion’s character is pure alpha male which brings with it a fully on sexy beast. Kathleen is his match in all things and was so glad that she had a brain and a strong character. A superbly constructed story which kept me enthralled until the very end. Plenty of ‘red herrings’ along the way when trying to find the culprit or culprits.

There seems to be a theme with writers now days where they start the book in a scene and then work their way from a certain point in the past to the current (where the books begins, if that makes any sense). To me it is like turning a movie on where it is part way through, and I do not always have the background information to fully follow the rest. This is how many books are written. It has taken me a while to get used to it and to follow through until I get to the backbone of the book. I know that this way of writing does not bother other people. But once I get into the story, it often hooks me, and I binge read until I have finished it. It was like this with this book. I am glad I stayed with it because it turned out to be a great book. I quite enjoyed it. I loved the whole supernatural and bit dark storyline. I loved the main characters and their relationship was steamy, hot and romantic – of course a few spankings helped that along. The characters are very strong individuals and they do butt heads as their histories sometimes get in the way. I think there is more to tell with the secondary characters who are part of the story. Hopefully, their stories will be told in the future. All in all it turned out to be another great book by Ms Stone!

This was a great foray into her new supernatural world of the Wolfen. “Max” Maximillian Dante Cordero is next in line to become alpha of the Wolfen when his father Blackhawk is ready to step down. As an ATF agent, Max is asked to team up with Detective Kathleen Kelly to work on a murder case which has disturbing indications. But he already is more than familiar with this firecracker of a woman, and he means to claim and mark her. Nevermind the fact that she is a human and off limits to Wolfen, he knows that she is his mate by first scent. A fantastic story featuring a cunning alpha beast who does not disappoint!
