Terrorist groups such as Abu Sayyaf and Jemaah Islamiyah have flourished in recent years with new recruits joining them and ISIS-affiliates at an alarming rate. Blended operations by various Asian countries have forced the groups to work together to identify a new operational base. They seek an island nation to call home, one where they can plot against countries who oppose their ideals. They … ideals. They found a target, a small nation-state, perfect for their needs: The Republic of Singapore.
Before anyone can respond, the ambassadors of the United States, Great Britain, and Australia are kidnapped from their residences in Singapore. Right index fingers of each victim are sent as a warning. Any attempt to recover the ambassadors will result in the removal of additional body parts.
Bedlam Charlie team leader, Evelyn Evinrude, leads the group to rescue the ambassadors and capture the local leaders of Abu Sayyaf and Jemaah Islamiyah. Can Bedlam succeed or will events escalate, resulting in more deaths?

This is the second novel by Author Randall Krzak I have had the good fortune of reading. This story feels like it is pulled from recent headlines with locations and name changed to protect people and countries.
The first chapter starts off gripping the reader with the vivid journey of escape. A woman, later identified as Natalee Grace Wainwright, missing seven weeks after a vacation to Bali. Injured and hospitalized, Natalee was savagely beaten before she was found barely alive. Her memories are fractured with flashbacks of others held captive with her. Yet, I cheered her brave resiliency to help make a difference from page 1 to the very end.
Singapore security people intercept a few bomber teams before they completed their assignment. When no headway is made with interrogating the suspects before they are tortured to death, the nation asks for support from outside. Bedlam Charlie, a group of skilled operatives led by Evelyn Evinrude, responds to the cry for help. The multi-national effort against the terrorists keeps the tension until the very end.
“Evelyn shook her head. “The world’s a more dangerous place than ever. As soon as we neutralize one threat, another takes over. Any idea who’s behind this?”
“The usual suspects, but perhaps a new group is behind the killing.” Harrison offered a tired smile. “This is one of the reasons for the creation of the Bedlam team—to tackle these situations as soon as possible, so they don’t become catastrophes or cause a direct threat to Australia.” He unwrapped the package from Evelyn.
“Enough serious chat for now. Let’s find out what Sir Alex sent.” He lifted two brown bottles into the air. “Oh my! Twenty-five-year-old Talisker single malt from the Isle of Skye. My favorite.”
Author Krzak has an uncanny ability to convey the characters from the inside out. The operatives are hunting international terrorists who have captured ambassadors from various countries to assure their demands are met. The military strategies needed to defeat and annihilate these heartless terrorists take the operatives on a suspenseful, action-packed chase. There is no easy way to promise the outcome.
Carnage in Singapore, the third volume in the Bedlam Series, reflects the extremes that are used by the terrorists for their cause. It is well-researched, detailed, and unrelenting suspense from start to finish. I highly recommend this story and this author for keeping a reader turning the pages non-stop. I also need to go back and get the first in the series, The Kurdish Connection.
Oh, wow! This is one of those books you don’t want to put down! Just when you think you know what’s coming up next, there is a plot twist and a turn you never expected. The opening is strong, and it grabs you from the very first paragraph and won’t let you go. The characters are believable and you immediately form a bond with the good guys. Bedlam Charlie is the name of the group led by none other than a character named Evelyn Evinrude, an unforgettable name. As the title of the book suggests, the pages are filled with carnage and angst, adding a feeling of danger and dread to every page. Your heart pumps harder as the author delves into the deceit and utter disregard for human life that plays out before you.
Author Randall Krzak’s writing style is smooth and interesting as he describes each scene in vivid detail. He’s extremely knowledgeable in what goes on in the background of military maneuvers. Being a gifted and talented writer, he knows how to add suspense. The fast-paced action follows the Bedlam Team through their struggles and victories as they combat international terrorism at the highest level.
Evelyn Evinrude and the team rush in to defeat the terrorists who have settled in the nation of Singapore after having captured the ambassadors of the United States of America, Great Britain, and Australia. The terrorists have amputated part of a finger from each of the captured ambassadors and continue to threaten more bodily harm if their demands are not met.
You won’t want to miss this one. It’s a great study in military maneuvers and what it takes to defeat and defend, capture and annihilate. I highly recommend it.
“I enjoyed reading, “Carnage in Singapore” by Randall Krzak, who in my opinion, is a brilliant writer who has a unique ability of immediately capturing attention with a very intense opening scene which was extremely riveting. As I read on, the action, twists and turns, and the whole story got even more intense and exciting.
I am a big fan of this author and read his previous book, “The Kurdish Connection,” which showed to me his highly sophisticated knowledge of the military and his high intelligence and experience about what really goes on in the background.
His writing style is excellent, and I thought he described each scene extremely well bringing out ever-increasing and amazing exciting action, thrills, suspense, bravery, and selflessness on the topical subject of terrorism.
The story, in my view, is thought-provoking and very fast-paced with great action and suspense as the Bedlam Team struggles and combats international terrorism.
I felt this author is highly creative, gifted and very extraordinary and, in my view, as more people read his work his fan base will grow. I believe his works are not to be missed as after I read “Kurdish Connection” I became a lifelong fan of this author’s talent.
Very well done and I give this book five stars plus and highly recommend it!”
