The best thing about all of these books, and this one is no exception, is that you get more than you expect. Never a spoiler in my reviews: This is a short but well worth it read (translate novella) that keeps your attention, has a great story, a good mystery complete with some twists that have you second-guessing yourself just when you think you’ve got it figured out. along with an interesting lead character who is a traveling photographer for a magazine and also, a succinct but fact loaded and entertaining history lesson that is SO NOT boring. I’ve learned something in every book as well as being able to envision the sites that Nick has visited, and enjoyed each ‘ride’ as Nick’s photography helps solve a mystery. This visit takes us to Cheyenne, Wyoming where Nick’s reputation precedes him; his help is enlisted in the possibility of helping with a cold case due to a case of mistaken identity. Add to the fun some recurring characters and you have a series that has you anxiously awaiting the next stop in the tour of the states. Take a chance, if this is your first read by these authors it won’t be your last, the traveling starts in Olympia, Washington and continues on from there!
Nick is a freelance photographer who is traveling to all 50 state capitals. In this book he’s in Wyoming! As he traveling along he somehow always ends up solving cases the police have trouble with. This is no different as there in a cold case of a shooting in a bridal shop!
I love these books! I love learning new facts about the various states and capitals I’ve never seen! I love the various people he meets along the way. It is getting to be a cliche that every place he visits either the hotel clerk or waitress hits on him. From the description he is certainly no Brad Pitt! But I love the stories and the mysterious! Please keep the series going. I look forward to reading each book!
Fun fact filled exciting! Great characters that that you will love!
Nick is teaching us all kinds of cool stuff about all of the capital cities while being immersed in wild crimes!
A must read series!
Carnage in Cheyenne (Capital City Murders, #9), my twelfth read from author Troy Lambert. After reading Silenced in Salt Lake: Capital City Murders Book #11, my first read from author Troy Lambert, I wanted to read more in the series and this one doesn’t disappoint. I was given an Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. As always, Joseph L. Stevenson’s narration adds to the book’s enjoyment. I look forward to reading more in this series & from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
I received an review copy, voluntarily but this my review
Nick gave to much information, not capable to speak up for himself. Ending was too short.
The authors never fail to deliver in the Capital Murders series. The reader rides along with Nick as he travels to a new capital and a new crime. Through Nick, one learns about the flavor of these historic towns and what they have to offer. It’s fun to see how Nick juggles the many women who come into his life. He is such a gentleman and lets them all down gently, so as to not hurt their feelings. Nick is also a good son, and checks in with his parents in each installment. He is a reluctant, but super sleuth with his keen eye. This reader is looking forward to the next book, “Defenestrated in Denver”!
