Someone is burying teenage girls alive.
It’s been nearly a full year since there were any local kidnappings, but now girls are going missing left and right. There are few commonalities linking them together, and the only evidence Alex Mercer has are the ransom notes left on each victim’s front door.
Tensions mount as clues point to the notorious kidnapping ring driven from town twelve months … driven from town twelve months ago—the same ring that’s tormented him and his loved ones for years.
With so many young lives on the line, Alex is desperate. And he works tirelessly to solve the crimes before anyone dies. But if the ring has returned?
No one could be more determined to shut them down for good.

I enjoyed reading this installment of the Alex Mercer Series. The story kept my attention all throughout the book. Zoey’s not happy & feels the town she’s lived in all her life isn’t a safe environment to raise her children in & wants to move. Kidnappings have started again in the small town. This time the victims are being buried alive. Will Alex and the team find them before it’s too late ? Has the kidnapping ring returned once again ? I recommend that you add this book and the whole Alex Mercer Series to your reading list ! There’s only 1 more book left in this series . I’m going to miss the Mercer & Fleshman Families. I’m hoping for a spin-off involving the Mercer – Fleshman children 15yrs older ? I purchased my own copy of this book & this is my personal opinion.
You’ll find yourself crossing your fingers more than once reading this tale!
Another round of kidnappings…with a terrible twist…Alex faces more than one challenge in this latest tale. Issues/conflicts with the department, his family, and a criminal (or more than one?) are in store. Some advice…as with all of this author’s books…don’t start reading unless you can finish it in one go!
The Mercer family and everyone close to them have all been affected by the town they live in. They have all been kidnapped or threatened in some form. With the latest kidnappings of young girls being buried alive for ransom, it may just push them over the edge. A great read with a ton of action until the cliffhanger ending! Can’t wait for book 12!
Has the “RING” risen?
Never a dull moment in the Mercer family lives. More kidnappings, more unknowns, more drama! I feel for each character in this book, each having their own controversies that others aren’t seeing eye to eye on which is causing family dynamics. Adding to the mix is of course the kidnappings going on again, is the Ring back in production or is something going on? Join Alex with his friends, co workers, n family through the twists n turns of this mystery, you won’t be disappointed.
After a year without kidnapping it seems that the ringleader are almost down. But when a ransom note appear in Josie’s house telling she is buried alive and their parent must pay without calling the cops, is it possible the nightmare has just started again?
Be mindful of your words.
One Careless Whisper is all it takes for everything to unravel and come crashing down.
Stacy Claflin brings the eleventh installment of the Alex Mercer Thriller Series back with a scare! Teenaged girls are being buried alive, held hostage for ransom, and, again, it’s up to Alex Mercer and the team to figure it out! Even though this time around his own family isn’t kidnapped, shocker – I know, it’s still just as engrossing. Claflin brings her classic non-stop, fast-paced action from start to finish!
With a teenaged daughter rebelling and marital bliss amiss, Alex sure does have his work cut out for him! While I did enjoy Careless Whisper, I found myself wanting more at some points; more Fleshmen family interaction, more solidarity, and less disconnect between the characters we’ve grown to know and love. However, the cliffhanger at the end certainly left me begging for more. What will happen to the Mercer’s next in light of his wife Zoey’s recent revelations? Let’s go book twelve!
If you’re looking for quick thrillers with easily enjoyable characters then look no further, this series is sure to keep you swiping the pages! I’d like to take a moment and send a great big thank you to the author, Stacy Claflin, for providing me with a complimentary copy of this title in exchange for my honest review. #mistyscornerreviews
Another fantastic Alec Mercer thriller full of non stop action and drama! Once again I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat as I read this in one sitting and once again am very glad I do not live anywhere near or in this town! I did feel that characters from previous books did not have much interaction in this one as they normally do such as Nick and his family and I missed them not being in it as much! But I Loved this addictive storyline and I do love the characters although Zoey is not in my good books at the moment especially in how she is currently behaving and that ending! Well I keep my fingers crossed for Alex that it is all sorted out!
Alex is called about a kidnapping. The kidnappers state that they buried the girl alive. They will give the parents her location for money. Alex is trying to get information to find the girl. Then more are taken. They are running out of time. Crawford and the FBI are there due to the kidnappings. Crawford takes Alex of the case for some reason. Alex knows in his gut that he is a mole. FBI knows who he is, has Crawford put him back on the case.
Ari is threatened at school about sticking her nose into the kidnapping and to let her father know the same goes for him. Ari also feels like she messed up because of what she heard, and didn’t tell her father right away.
Alex and Zoey are having issues due the kidnapping. Zoey is putting her foot down and Alex doesn’t know how to get through to her.
This book was non-stop action, with family moments. This is a well written book that will keeps you reading until you get to the end. I recommend reading this book. I didn’t want to give to much away so nothing is ruined for the reader. One thing is I think Alex and Zoey should not be together, never really liked Zoey as a character.
I received a ARC copy of this book, I am giving my honest review on book.
It’s not safe for a girl to wander alone: what a town!
4-4.5stars
This is another action-packed, quick read in a series that has seen just about every main character threatened or kidnapped: not a vote of confidence for a small Northwest town! There’s definitely plenty of tension as victims disappear, more are threatened and the window for their survival shrinks.
So, I enjoyed the story but not as much as most of the series. We don’t really get more than a basic knowledge of any of the victims, sometimes not even that. Nick Fleshman, Alex’s best friend and boss at the local police department, has been sidelined and barely appears in the story. Alex seems to have lost his energy and his problems with wife Zoey dampen the mood even when progress in the investigations seems assured. And the book’s finish kept me wondering. I also felt teen daughter Ariana’s actions sometimes did not add up. She’s a smart girl who has herself survived kidnapping and attacks on her family and friends but sometimes her brain seems to go walkabout.
I love the series and can’t wait for each subsequent book, but the others were so wonderful this book had a lot to live up to. For me, it was good but not great, unlike most of its predecessors.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
This book is a page turner. Even though the kidnappings don’t involve Alex’s family it puts a big strain on it. His wife wants to move away, their high school daughter decides to rebel and Alex and Zoe are at an impasse. So many questions to be answered. This time the kidnappers are not who they think, but Zoe still has her mind made up with or without Alex, ouch. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Another non-stop, heart-pounding thriller to get your blood racing! From page 1 to the final page, it leaves you begging for more. If you havent read this series, you really need to. I think you could read each book individually, but you would know all the back story if they were read in order. Now…come on book 12! Stacy Claflin
