Life is unpredictable and what the cards read for each of us changes like the weather forecast. After David Allyn’s daughter asked him to stop at a specialty store for her, he thought it would be a simple errand. Fate had other plans.Clueless about mysticism, magic, and fantasy; he wasn’t quite sure what to make of a store that carried tarot cards, cupid sprinkles, and mystical looking decor. The … looking decor. The Queen of Wands store was only half as fascinating as it’s owner, Micki Davies.
Gold Star widow Micki Davies is the breath of fresh air David didn’t realize he needed. The quirky, free-spirited shop owner fascinates him like no one ever has.
Humor, instant attraction, and the kind of desire that leaves them both weak in the knees join together with destiny to weave a charming tale of love at every age.

As part of the over 50 club, I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Micki and David. As with most stories you are guaranteed to find love & lust, but it is in the telling that raises the bar. With Queen of Wands – Ms. Suzanne Halliday does not disappoint with her own tapestry of words and thus begins the story of a seasoned couple that fate has brought together for rediscovery of companionship and sweet tasting sensual love.
With their own indispensable elements from their own lives the couple continues to click along.
With children (grandkids too!), past loves and friends – you become an instant cheerleader for not only Micki and David but for their family/friend connections too. I honestly would enjoy a story for the single mother that seems to be flailing with many challenges. As a single parent myself, I was an instant fan of Holly who works for the enchanted shop owned by Micki. Without giving too much away, you will have so much fun with the journey of falling in love with this amazing couple. It is honest and likeable. It gives you so many feels of fun, sexy times over 40 and butterflies. There are so many butterflies from both so early that time is not an issue. I didn’t want it end. I can’t wait for more.
Mickie Davies, widowed after losing her husband Captain Steven Harrison Davies whilst he was serving overseas in Afghanistan she was left to bring up their twin boys on her own.
It was hard but it was also rewarding watching her boys grow up to be men. They have their own lives now settled down with wonderful woman and also grand babies she adores.
She started her business Queen of Wands with the help and backing of a friend it was now a successful and quirky business. Drawing in regular cliental and new people wandering in for a look.
David, divorced he single handily raised his daughter Emily on his own. She’s an awesome kid who has grown into a beautiful young woman who is in college and the reason he finds himself in Mickie’s store. A less likely person ever to even walk in and it’s David.
The physical attraction and chemistry when these to meet is so innocently sweet you have to smile. There banter created between these two has you giggling like a school girl. If anyone can write comedic dialect it’s Suzanne, it delivers every times.
It was natural watching these two fall in love. I think for me it was the innocence of these two people. Totally different in every way but so well matched. They are older, they have their lives together. There is no drama, no catty words. Just a wonderful love story. And it also proves love finds a way no matter what age.
And I can’t forget the steam factor. Miss Halliday has a way of writing a scene that is so sexy and erotically sensual that you swoon when you read her books. Absolute must read, if you’re looking for a sweet sexy read then you need to read David and Mickie’s story.
I absolutely loved this book. I went thro lots of emotions whilst reading. But what shone through is love, unconditional love. I was hooked from the first page to the last. Great book.
