I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a wonderful story that transported me back to post-Culloden Scotland. There were several sub-plots if you will. A minister with a secret past of a pirate, nefarious relatives (well really one) and a female protagonist who wants to travel and experience adventures.
Troy Ferguson is a pirate and he is tired of his life. He jumps ship in the middle of a battle. It takes three years for his past to catch up with him. Before it does though, he needs to repent for his ways by becoming a minister. Ruth who escaped her father along with her sister (in the prior book) go to Scotland. While Ruth’s sister has married, Ruth is wanting to get away and see the world.
The tale of these two is one that completely enchanted me. It was written in my favorite dual POV and it really helped me to connect and identify with them.
There are several scenes that may offend some. They were written very tastefully though. That being said, I can only recommend this to anyone over the age of 18.
If you adore historical romance (especially if they take place in Scotland) then you will thoroughly enjoy this one.
What an enjoyable story. It is full of secrets, unrequited love, temptation, greed, family, loyalty, penance, yearning and true love. The characters were wonderfully written. So interesting and alive. They were in situations that they responded to realistically. There were moments of pain when secrets were revealed but in a malicious and misconstrued way. There was danger by two faced liars. This is a very exciting story. Never a dull moment. I could not put it down and read it straight through. I highly recommend it.
I was more than ready to climb into this one especially after a day of rude customers in today’s world. With all the techno and advancements people are still behind in some ways. Anyways as it says Ruth is very fortunate in having what she has but of course thanks to human nature she does desire something more. A very big battle of the hearts is about to come about when Troy comes along and they encounter each other. Fires will start and things will build with the interest being found in not just the romance that is building. What is the best part of this is how it ends.
Wild Ruth falls for a minister. Well not so unusual if you knew who he use to be. Entertaining hystorical romance. Warning there are three sex scenes. If you read first two books, you will get to find out more about Amelia and Marianne. Be sure and read the extended epilogue
