If one is very, extremely desperate, then one may call on the services of a clandestine group of men. The Kidnap Club—known to few—specialize in helping women out of difficult situations. Arranged marriages to awful men, for example.Miss Grace Beaumont is at the mercy of her uncle who is determined she marry the depraved Mr. Worthington. Desperate times call for…well, the Kidnap Club. It seems … Kidnap Club.
It seems insane. Perhaps it is. But anything is better than being married to that man.
Lord Nash Fitzroy has looked after many a kidnapee over the past few years, but none make him want to break the cardinal rules as much as Grace. Her determined spirit, quick wit, and, let’s be honest, her pretty looks have him struggling to remember his role in this.
Protector, defender, and occasional shoulder to cry on.
His way with women and the almost derelict offerings of his ancestral home as a hideaway make him a perfect pretend kidnapper. He doesn’t much mind the money involved either, seeing as his father cut him off.
Which means, he cannot afford to get this wrong. No matter how tempted he is to show Grace that Worthington is not a prime example of how a man should be and burn the damned rule book.

Capturing the Bride by Samantha Holt is book One in The Kidnap Club Series. This is the story of Nash Fitzroy and Grace Beaumont.
Nash has been cut off by his father so he has come up with a way to earn money in addition to helping women escape bad situation by entering into the “Kidnap Club”. There are rules for the ‘kidnapper’ but go by so when Grace is the one he is with it is very hard to not throw the rules out. Grace is at the mercy of her Uncle who plans to marry her off to a horrid man so what is she to do but be ‘kidnapped’. What a great book and a great start to a series. I hope to read more from this series and author soon!

Fantastic job Samantha, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
A wonderful story.. They want to help women in need of escaping dangerous situations and this story begins with an uncle who is determined to marry off his niece to a ruthless man who is suspected to have killed his previous wife she has to get out.. He wants to keep her safe and honor his promises and vows to club but she is so beautiful and intelligent and everything that he wants. She is going to make him hers.. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.. I look forward to the next book in this series
Oh my goodness! I love a kidnapping story (and Samantha Holt has a whole series here). Delivered with a deft hand, these steamy, witty tales are a complete joy.
I loved the storyline of the Kidnap Club. I liked the idea that there were men in this time willing to help young women escape potentially abusive marriages and dangerous men who wanted to exploit them for their own means. While there were some discrepancies in the story, overall it was interesting and entertaining . I had wondered if Nash perhaps had one such woman in his own family which prompted his involvement.
Thank you Samantha for an interesting story with a exciting storyline.
Liked this one a lot.
What a Magnificent story! Capturing the Bride a weaves a story from beginning to end with threads of intrigue, with characters that are an absolute delight, a passion filled romance, the story was beautifully written and well-paced, and the humor was boundless. Miss Grace Beaumont needs to escape from the man her uncle has arranged for her to marry! What better way to avoid marriage than to be kidnapped by The Kidnap Club! Lord Nash Fitzroy has been with The Kidnap Club for the past few years and none of the kidanap’s has Nash for Grace, she is totally different from all the others, she is so rational thinking and speaks her mind. Nash has one huge problem… No touching any woman under his protection, how hard can that be for this delightful rogue. Samantha Holt has written a enjoyable first book in the series of The Kidnap Club.
CAPTURING THE BRIDE is the first book in The Kidnap Club series and we find a small group of men, some of them nobles, helping to kidnap and rescue ladies who are in situations detrimental to their physical wellbeing. Along comes Grace – soon-to-be heiress and about to be ‘sold’ by her uncle to a known wife-beater, possible killer. Luckily for Grace, her aunt arranges for her to be kidnapped!
This was a great story with Grace reminding me of Bones from the American TV show. Nash has never been with any of the rescuees before but Grace gets under his skin and he can’t stop thinking about her. He is worried about sharing his whole past with Grace though as he has made mistakes and fears she would judge him harshly.
What follows is a story that has both steamy moments and also action as Nash and Grace try to keep her safe from harm. Guy and Russell make great supporting characters and I can’t wait to learn more about them in future books (I hope).
The ending felt a bit rushed to me – as though the author had gone over the word-count and needed to finish. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of Nash with his family and Grace as she slides back into society after her kidnapping.
All in all, this was a wonderful historical romance with a dash of suspense. Definitely recommended by me.

A sweet period piece with Grace falling in love with her hired captor. I liked the way Nash started out as a brash somewhat immature rake that slowly showed his true nature as his feelings grew for Grace. I thought it was a cute touch when the author had Nash developing a fondness for Grace’s ugly cat. Claude.
A bit of drama with a greedy weak uncle and a wicked pseudo fiancé, but everything worked out in the end
Grace showed her strength and in turn helped Nash face his past and mistakes.

I’ve reviewed this series out of order, starting with the second book, then, third and now first. Therefore I had the advantage of knowing a bit about this love story, even if it was not with much detail. I have enjoyed this series of books about the members of the Kidnap Club. I loved the idea of three men of the Regency era rescuing/defending women from dangerous men who want to exploit them by kidnapping them to safety. In a time when women didn’t have the freedom to choose their own path, the idea that of men who would take the part of a woman in order to protect her from the husband, fiancé, father, or guardian who was forcing her into precarious circumstances. In this case, they kidnap Grace and Nash feels very drawn to her. Somehow being around her and drawn to her helps Nash to view his family’s disagreements from a different point of view and helps him to understand and grow as a result. I loved quirky Grace with her simple goals and Nash, who just wanted to be able to restore his childhood home. They were fun, interesting characters to read and their journey was entertaining. I am glad I had the opportunity to read this story and recommend this book and this series to others who enjoy an easy regency period romance.

Loved it! This is the first book in a fabulous series. Three men work together to assist women who are in danger, disappear. The have been dubbed ‘The Kidnap Club’. Grace’s uncle, and guardian, has promised her hand in marriage to a vile man accused of beating and murdering his first wife. Her aunt arranges for her to be kidnapped and squirreled away for a month until her twenty-first birthday, when Grace will receive her inheritance and no longer be under her uncle’s control. It is Nash’s job to look after her, and that is when things get interesting. This is a well written, well conceived, fast-paced story with characters who are realistically portrayed and easily imaginable. I was enthralled from the first page until the last, and suggest you make enough time to read it in one sitting.

This one wasn’t a favorite of mine. The h droves me nuts for most of the book. I loved the H. But all’s well that ends well. On to the next in the series.
Grace Beaumont is at the mercury of her Uncle Charlie to marry the despicable Lord Worthington. Her uncle Charlie needs her to be married before Grace Inherits a fortune and becomes independent. Grace rejects her uncle’s demand to marry Lord Worthingtons’ knowing about the alleged death of his last wife which everyone knows was no accident. Grace believes he killed her and wants nothing to do with Lord Worthington. Enter Grace’s aunt Eloise who tells her about the ”The kidnap club.” She explains it is a secret club that kidnaps young women in similar situations as Grace. She agrees and soon is kidnapped to a far and away location only to meet her protector, provider, Lord Nash Fitzroy. He is a reformed rogue who was disinherited by his father for gambling his whole fortune away. Their first meeting is rocky when both Grace and Nash argue about Grace demanding to bring along her beloved cat, Claude, with her to a kidnapping. ( which is hilarious, I couldn’t stop laughing) lol. Soon Grace settles in her new temporary home and wait for the ransom to come. The idea is to wait for the ransom from her uncle Charlie or Lord Worthington, return Grace to Uncle now ”ruined” resulting in no chance at finding her a husband. Meanwhile Nash and Grace get to know each other and eventually fall in love despite Lord Nash fighting it all the way. Lol. I loved this book! It was hilarious. It had me laughing all the way through. I loved the characters. Grace was smart and a bookworm and didn’t hide it. Lord Nash was sheep in wolf’s clothing. He was a rogue with a heart of gold. I loved that Nash fell in love with Grace’s brain first and not her body. Lol. The book is thrilling and adventurous. The love scenes are steamy and romantic. The outcome is different than what I expected. The very end is hilarious and satisfying. All in all, it is a very fun, read. I’ve heard so much about this author however, never got around to reading her books. I’m so glad I took a chance and finally read her. I will definitely go and find more of her books to read. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Hidden Gems in exchange for an honest review.
Different Kind of Story!
Grace is running away from an unwanted arranged marriage – straight into the arms of Nash, her protector.
He is a member of The Kidnap Club and his job is to look after the kidnapped ladies. He desperately fights his growing attraction to Grace who analyses everything including him, making notes and more notes and then she acts!
A fun romance with an interesting theme in the tongue in cheek kidnap aspect and a great show of camaraderie between all of its members.
I loved the tension between the two main characters and their feelings and thoughts and enjoyed this story very much. I look forward to more like this.
A very different premise to a story – The Kidnap Club. A group of guys who kidnap women and secure their safety. I like it! Nash is a member of the club but their no-no rule of relationships is hard to keep for Nash. He tries. I enjoyed reading the evolution of Grace from thinking herself not strong but when push came to shove she had it in her. A very cute premise for this series and the relationship between the men is wonderful to read. Oh and the cat and his relationship with the men is too funny. I have read the second book already and is also very good. Now I am waiting on Guy’s story (I think it will be a doozy).
I received a complimentary copy from Hidden Gems.
This is the start of the series Kidnap Club. This is a different type of look at the Regency way of forcing woman to marry people they did not want to. A great story.

CAPTURING THE BRIDE is the first book in the Kidnap Club series. These are expected to be stand-alone historical romances, but I plan to read them all and in the order of release.
In a time when women were used as pawns and bargaining chips, Miss Grace Beaumont and her aunt found themselves with an ace up their sleeves.
I love this unique and ingenious concept for the misogynistic society of the era! I love the men of the Kidnap Club, their differing personalities, and their commitment to the cause – each with their own reasons. Then there is Grace. She is so bluestockinged – nerdy in today’s terms – straightforward and unfiltered. I just knew from the first page that Grace and Nash were going to be an epic romance.
This was a great book and a fantastic start to a new series. I’m looking forward to continuing with the next kidnapping!
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

4.5 STARS
I will certainly be reading more of this series when released.
I realize women come in all shapes and sizes. But, I wish she wasn’t built like a lad and not only that very short. I had a hard time picturing them together nearly impossible. Our H is a former Rake and certainly had his share of women. The Cover is pretty, but doesn’t depict how small the h was – small detail. The h didn’t have a back bone but gradually found her spine and she became enjoyable. She did have a kind heart where her Aunt and cat were concerned. Loved the cat!
There are some villains, suspense, twists and an interesting concept with the Kidnap Club. There is lovemaking, outside of marriage – heat level 4 out of 5. The Lord’s name is used in vain several times.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, some romance, and spice. (ljb)
Charming Couple, Great Concept
I found this book delightful on several levels. First, I love the concept of this new series. There are three men who can be hired to kidnap a woman to get her away from an abusive husband or a bad situation or help spirit her to Gretna Green to wed a person not approved of by her family. This first book of the series truly holds promise. Both lead characters are quite different from each other, of course. That is part of the fun of a romance like this. But the way they felt and thought about each other was in such contrast to the way they acted toward each other that it opened up the novel for humorous incidents and funny conversations. I actually did laugh out loud at some things this couple said and got up to. Neither is what the other expects. Especially our poor hero, Nash. He assumes that the heroine will be like the other women who have been a part of the Kidnap Club’s escapades. But she is not on so many different levels. She’s intelligent, down to earth, and very inquisitive. I loved one of the initial scenes in the garden when he is expecting her to have an emotional breakdown and offers her his handkerchief in case she needs to cry. He even says it like that, offering a brief embrace if that would assist her. She thinks he’s just gone out of his mind. It was so well written. This book is a lot of fun, and I look forward to other books in this series as I hope they are as charming as this one.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Really enjoyed this witty, fun and action packed adventure filled with engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists, exciting turns and undeniable passion. Highly entertaining reading from beginning to end, could not put it down.
