Another amazing five star book from Carrie Ann Ryan! Julia and Ronan thought they had the perfect relationship until Kincaid came back into Ronan’s life. They still had unresolved feelings for each other. Bring I. Julia and they make a great triad. They feelings, the standing up for each other. I loved this little book.
Ronin and Julia have found their HEA and living a happy life together as man and wife. In comes Kincaid from Ronin’s past. Watching them navigate and trying to see if Kincaid has a place in their lives makes for an awesome read.
I absolutely loved this story! I loved that we got to revisit these characters and learn more about their story and how they got together and watch them complete their story with a third person in their relationship. I loved watching them build, and rebuild, the relationship between the 3 of them. Kincaid and Ronin were together in a triad relationship years ago. Things went wrong with their female at the time and then Kincaid disappeared on Ronin. Ronin didn’t realize what had happened to Kincaid shortly after he left. Kincaid has been trying to figure out who he is after the tragic accident and to rebuild the life that he let fall apart. Julia and Ronin are great together and are in a great place in their life. I love the way that these two communicated with all of the stuff going on. That is how they made their relationship work and how they make potentially, and in reality, adding a third to work. This story was a little on the shorter side but we get to see all three of them build the relationship together and as pairs. There is also a little action within day to day kind of things. Nothing life or death but there are problems that they have to work through that stem from their past. There was plenty to grab my attention and hold it for the entire book. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to revisit these guys and watching Ronin and Julia get all they deserve.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Ronan and Julia have made peace with the trauma in their individual pasts and have found an enduring love in each other and created a happy life as husband and wife. Their world is shaken when Kincaid, the man Ronan loved and lost when their triad relationship with another woman destructed, reappears in his life.
Kincaid regrets leaving Ronin however tragedy sent him into a downward spiral that he has finally found his way out of. If he had known that Ronan was married he wouldn’t have come back into his life but now that he is it has all three of them wondering if they are more complete as a triad rather than a couple?
There is so much to like about this book including the open communication between them all which made the transition that much sweeter as well as the way they support each other as they face each challenge together. The characters draw you in and the heat whether it is between two of them or three of them is intense.
I enjoyed this novella. I liked reading about the ups and downs of being a triad when they found their third after the main couple had been married for a few years. It made the dynamic interesting and the characters develop in a different way than in a lot of romances. I liked that this was a quick read but I didn’t like the ending. It was really abrupt and I could have used a bit more. Besides that, it was an enjoyable book with great characters.
*I received an arc for an honest review*
It was okay. Not my usual cup of tea. I liked it but I had issues. That was probably just me.
Julia and Ronin are happily married but something is missing. Kincaid returns hoping to reconnect with Ronin. Julia and Ronin realize what they might be missing and Kincaid is disappointed to discover that Ronin is married.
This story made me cry for Ronin and Kincaid and the heart ache they went through but the love and passion that Julia, Ronin and Kincaid develop for each other, makes me love them and their story. Wonderful read…I highly recommend it!
This is a fast hot read and I loved it. Julia has horrible parents but is still a very luck gal. The men in her life are just what she needs for a happy life. I love that one is a ginger as they rarely are. I received an advanced copy of this book and freely leave this honest review.
Julia and Ronin are happily married and totally in love. When Kincaid comes back looking for Ronin it throws everyone for a loop. I am still a little on fence about triads but I do love the way Carrie Ann Ryan writes them. The dynamic between the three was amazing and it was an awesome read.
This was such a heartwarming story! Ronin and Julia were lovely together, but when Kincaid came back to town so broken, I loved watching them build each other up and find their HEA in a poly relationship.
Received an advance copy from the author.
I really enjoyed this book. Very well written and love the characters and the storyline. Its well worth a read.
What a great story! All three of these amazing characters are a little flawed, a little damaged, yet have overcome so much to be where they are at today. I liked hearing about how Julia and Ronin met and of course I always enjoy seeing our friends from past books make an appearance as well. The minute the knock on the door happened, I knew it was Kincaid. It was sad and hard to read about his past and what he had gone through, but I also appreciated Julia who did not even know this man, was there for him, nonetheless. I liked Julia and Ronin talking about Kincaid and approaching him for more than friendship. There are going to be bumps especially when making changes to an existing relationship, but I did like the chemistry between everyone. My other favorite part was even though Julia and Kincaid both struggled with their families, Ronin’s family was there for them just as they are for Ronin and anyone else who might come into the fold. The ending when Julia and Ronin were there for Kincaid was touching and emotional. Great novella!
This made me happy. I love ménage but it’s not often that you see a ménage where the third person comes in to an already established relationship. I love the maturity of it and the sexiness obviously doesn’t hurt. It’s how the author shows these characters and their needs that made me unable to put it down.
4.5 Stars
This is a really good story about being true to who you are no matter what and to keep your mind open to the possibilities.
Captured in Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan is a Montgomery Ink: Boulder novella, and it was beauty inside and out from start to finish, with a heady dose of SWOONWORTHY feelings!
Julia, Ronin, and Kincaid absolutely knocked me over with the overwhelming FEELS that they generated, and my heart loved every single moment of the emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey that I was taken on!
The steam, the chemistry, the depth of feeling, all of it are earmarks of a Carrie Ann Ryan story, but each one delivers it in its own unique and delicious way, and I thoroughly enjoyed how it happened in this delightful novella!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I know you will too. There’s a lot of emotion, a lot of love, and some deliciously dirty scenes too, but the honesty and truth of it all really brings it all together and will make your heart melt! Promise! So, hop to it and dive in!
Julia and Ronin are married. Ronin is a vet who lost a leg, and Julia works with Ethan Montgomery. Ronin was in a triad with Alexis and Kincaid. Julia knows all about it, and they have talked about adding a third into their relationship. Ronin asks Kincaid to think about it, and come to their house for a date. They spend time together as three, and also as couples. Kincaid had a sister Sophia, who died when they were hit with an IED. She was the reporter, he the photographer. He calls to tell his Mom Happy Birthday, but she won’t talk to him. His parents blame him for her death. He leaves Ronin and Julia, but they talk and the next day they go to him. They all talk, and decide to work it out.
Short, sweet, sexy story that ends far too soon, wished this was a full length novel, instead of a novella.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Captured In Ink
Captured In Ink is the latest offering by Carrie Ann Ryan. While it does take place in the “Montgomery Universe,” it is really Montgomery adjacent. Captured In Ink is part of the 1001 Dark Nights series, so while there are some character crossovers it is a stand-alone story.
Ronin and Julia are happily married. They both come with the baggage that all adults have. Ronin has a failed relationship with a former love, while Julia has a failed familial relationship. They are adults and things are going great in their world until Ronin’s blast from the past shows up in the form of a hot ginger named Kincaid. 10 years earlier Ronin, Kincaid were in a relationship with a woman. When the woman cheated, their triad fell apart and Kincaid left without so much as a good bye.
Can Ronin and Julia move from a happy couple into a stable throuple? Will the past that Ronin and Kincaid have tear them apart? Will stresses from Julia’s past and judgemental parents lead to the demise of their HEA.
Carrie Ann Ryan has such a wonderful way with words as she crafts her characters.
Carrie Ann Ryan is still a fairly new author to me but I love her Montgomery Ink Series so this novella was always going to be on radar and let me say this quick read was everything I expected and more.
Captured in Ink is an emotional roller coaster and I was captivated by Julia and Ronin’s steamy journey from the first page to the last line. This couple are happy with their relationship and they have overcome every obstacle put in their way but now seems the perfect time to invite a third person into their relationship so could Ronin’s ex who is back in town be the one…….
Kincaid is back home and as soon as he catches up with Ronin, he knew the feelings were still there but will the sizzling chemistry be enough, will he be the one that takes Julia and Ronin’s relationship to another level, will he be the one to complete them……
I loved this novella, it may be a quick read but it still packs a mighty punch, the chemistry is sizzling but it’s the connection these three share that makes this book a great read.
Julia is the center of Ronin’s life, but when Ronin’s ex shows up after 10 years, he realizes he’s still in love with him. Kincaid wants a second chance with Ronin but finds out he’s married. Julia knows about Ronin and Kincaid’s past and when she suggests bringing him into their lives, Ronin finally gets the answers to why Kincaid left him so long ago and is willing to see if the three of them can become a throuple. As Julia and Ronin begin to “date” Kincaid, they realize he is what will make their marriage even better. The love that builds between them is very apparent and when doubts begin to creep in for Kincaid, they refuse to let him slip away again.
The best outcome in triads lately, at least for me, come down to the right mix of steamy and practicality. I love when the throuple takes their time to talk about what they are jumping into and the ramifications of it before people start getting hurt. Don’t get me wrong, I love lusty times as much as the next person, but I also appreciate the careful consideration and respect that goes into the thought process of this kind of relationship just like a couple would. The depth of the characters and meaning behind the story goes a long way towards wrapping around my heart when the author takes the time, plus, the steamy intimate moments are that much better!! So thank you Carrie Ann, Captured in Ink is the best of both worlds.
Ronin and Julia are already married when Ronin’s old flame comes back into his life. Once part of a triad before he was married Ronin knows they aren’t exactly easy and Julia is now the center of his world he doesn’t want to do anything that will screw that up. However, adding a third to their marriage is something they have been discussing and having Kincaid walk back into Ronin’s life opens more possibility to making that possibility a reality. First things first, Ronin and Kincaid have to work through their past heartache before they jump into anything that could ruin what Ronin and Julia have in their stable marriage. What could this mean for the triad if they travel down this path? Happiness or destruction?
