This was a beautiful novella full of love, heartache and the humor we come to expect from the Montgomery series. Julia, Ronin and Kincaid will leave you crying laughing and breathless while they stumble through obstacles on their way to happiness. All three of them have their painful past events that have shaped them into the people they are now. Julia and Ronin have a marriage anyone would want, full of love, openness and a connection that sizzles. When Kincaid arrives at their door, not realizing Ronin is married, what follows is a love story that couldn’t be any more perfect.
This was a very well written story. I really enjoy triads and this is one I’ll read again. Very emotive.
I absolutely loved this book. Ronin, Kincaid, and Julia were perfect together. Another great story in the Montgomery world!
Captured in Ink is a sweet shorty story about Ronin, Julia and Kincaid. We first meet Ronin and Julia and they are a very happily married couple. There is a mention of Kincaid from Ronin’s past and then he shows up at their door. The evolvement of their relationship is both heartfelt and partially tragic but you see how much all 3 have suffered and how they belong to each other. This is a great short story in the Montgomery Universe. The characters were very likable and had explosive chemistry. Great, quick read.

‘Captured in Ink’ is a novella in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery Ink: Boulder series.
Ronin and Julia’s marriage is solid but they feel like there is something or more importantly someone missing from it. So when Kincaid (someone from Ronin’s past) shows up, things seem to fall in to place for all parties involved.
So I have to be honest here and say I had a bit of trouble with this book. Now it has nothing to do with the authors writing or story, it was purely to do with there being three people in the relationship. I’m not against triangles or harems it’s just not my cup of tea, and when reading about them I usually don’t read them or I give up on it, as it’s my tastes. But that is what reviews are for. So with that being said here is my thoughts.
There is a lot of steam, and chemistry throughout this book that are all trademarks of Carrie Ann Ryan’s writing style. Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster, a lot of love and some very hott scenes. A very well written story with great character growth and deep feels.
The Montgomery’s continue to grow and take another piece of you heart and soul with each new character we get introduced to.
Four and a half stars
Captured in Ink is part of Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery Ink series. Ronin and Julia are very happily married, and have worked hard to make sure they’re on the same page when it comes to their relationship. So when Ronin’s ex Kincaid shows up on their doorstep one evening, it doesn’t take long for them to realize that maybe Kincaid is exactly who they weren’t looking for but completes them perfectly.
Carrie Ann Ryan’s story is full of her trademark heart and heat, and the warm family and friends who make up the Montgomery clan and everyone they adopt. Kincaid, Ronin, and Julia are all survivors, and it’s a pleasure to see them find how well they flourish together!
This is Ronin and Julia’s story that is continuing it gives us more of the couple that we’ve met previously. The couple has been through many ups and downs but made it through and succeeded. They are married now and enjoying life.
However Kincaid is not something either of them planned on he’s part of Ronin’s past and was a big part of his life for a long time and neither Ronin or Julia can avoid him once he’s suddenly back and they aren’t sure they want too.
Overall it’s a wonderful read and it’s not too long as it’s a novella but gives the reader the complete story as always the author gives us our HEA and does it spectacularly. If you love MI then you’ll definitely want to read this one.
Julia and Ronin are happilied married, but they both feel that they are missing something or someone. Then enters Ronin’s ex – Kincaid. But how can Kincaid fit into a relationship that is already estabilished. The three have to find ways to get over thier insecurities and build thier new relationship on solid ground so that it can survive. I love these three together and am happy they received thier HEA.
I received an ARC and voluntarily reviewed it.
If you like triads you will love this one!!! Ronin and Julia are Happily married when Ronin’s ex Kincaid comes back and they decided to give the new relationship between the three of them a try and it’s great!!!
Julia and Ronin are happily married and dreaming of a future filled with love and children. Both Julia and Ronin have worked hard to solidify their relationship although they have talked about finding a third person to make their couple into a thruple. A knock on their door one evening makes this theoretical a possibility. Ronin was once in a thruple with Kincaid, whom he loved very much, but he was also the one person that left without explanation. Kincaid knocked on Ronin’s door with the hopes of apologizing not realizing that he was now married. He realizes that Julia and Ronin are happily married and leaves with the apology given. Julia is instantly taken with Kincaid and after their initial meeting talks to Ronin about making him the third in their couple. They approach Kincaid and begin dating. Can Julia, Ronin, and Kincaid work through their feelings to create a family of their own choosing?
After reading A Very Montgomery Christmas, I was intrigued to see how Julia, Ronin, and Kincaid became about. Their story is full of past heartbreak that needs to be fixed. But when these three get together, they are hot, hot, hot. Another great novella from Carrie Ann and I always love the updates on past couples.
Ronin and Julia have a rock solid relationship and marriage. They have been to hell and back, but their love stood strong through it all. Ronin and Julia each know there is a piece missing and have discussed bringing in a third to their relationship. Ronin is shocked when his ex, Kincaid, shows up at his door. Kincaid never meant to walk out on the love of his life, but two tragedies were more than he could handle. It has taken years for Kincaid to get back on his feet, but there are still broken parts that need to be healed. Julia sees that Ronin and Kincaid still love each other and lays all her cards on the table. Kincaid finds that Julia makes him feel things only Ronin ever made him feel. Can these 3 make this new relationship work? Will Kincaid walk away and end up hurting the 2 people he loves? Will Ronin and Julia make Kincaid see that walking away isn’t an option? I LOVE Carrie Ann Ryan! Captured in Ink is fantastic story that will take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride. Captured in Ink has lots of love, great chemistry, lots of hot steamy sex, drama, and lots of emotion. I would highly recommend getting Captured in Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
Julia and Ronin and Kincaid made one HOT trio. I enjoyed the dynamic between Julia and Ronin and when Kincaid got added into the mix things just got better. This novella gives you enough information to satisfy your curiosity about each character. There is history between two of the three and that adds another dimension to the story. This was a fun addition to the Montgomery Ink world and I’m looking forward to the next story in this world.
Julia and Ronin are happily married but have been wanting a missing thread to add to their love. That thread comes in the form of Ronin’s former love, Kinkaid. When Kinkaid walked away years ago from the man he loved, he only did so at great pain to himself. Now he’s back, having crawled out of the dark hole he had been in. He’s too late, though, because his love is married, apparently very happily. He doesn’t realize he could be just the missing person the two of them are looking for.
This is a short, sweet, hot second chance menage. I liked all three characters, and felt the strong emotions the felt, as well as the intense chemistry all three shared. As this was a novella, I wasn’t expecting a thoroughly fleshed out story, and it wasn’t, but it was still complete. I wish there were more coming from these three lovable characters.
Carrie Ann Ryan can write a story like no one else. Captured in Ink maybe a novella that falls into her huge family of Montgomery books, but it packs as much of a punch as a full novel would. I don’t want to give a lot away, so I will say that this is a must-read if you’ve read any of this series. Even if it’s not what you may usually read. I would say you could read it as a stand-alone but honestly, it’s better after knowing these characters first. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Welcome back to the Montgomery Ink World with this wonderful novella, although with everything that Ms. Ryan included it feels like a full story. Ronin and Julia have been through the ringer to finally have their marriage on their terms but there is something lacking. Kincaid has never forgotten the man he loved but life sent him on a path that took him away. Now Kincaid is back and finds out that Ronin is married to a strong woman. How will Julia deal with Ronin’s past coming back? Can they make a relationship work between them all? Overall, this is an entertaining, well written story that will take readers on an emotional roller coaster ride. One cannot help but fall for these characters as the author pens them flawlessly. This is one book that you want to one click then take the time to devour. You will be glad you did.
Ronin is a man who is very much in love with his wife. They have a serious, and real, discussion on how people feel about certain things. Kincaid wants to make up for past mistakes, The author does a good job at showing his apprehension about something he’s not sure of. Julia gives the reader the woman’s point of view to what is going on. We have to decide if we’re willing to be a voyeur as things develop.
You being the reader have to decide if you can be comfortable reading about a relationship that contains more than two people. The author makes everything feel comfortable, other than the characters feeling a little awkward as they figure things out in the beginning. She also includes some realism because a lot of people don’t believe in a relationship that isn’t between a man and a woman. The author doesn’t focus on that which is a good thing because that would take our story in a direction that wouldn’t be good for our characters. But it is part of their life.
Julia is naturally the one that connects Ronin and Kincaid. But we also get to see life outside this little circle. The author includes lots of emotions that may make you smile or even make you frown. There are obstacles to overcome but knowing they have someone to lean on helps. Love always helps and there’s no missing how it grows throughout this story even though there are ups and downs.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Julia and Ronin are a couple totally in love with each other, but they’ve always said if a third should come along to compliment their relationship, they would definitely go for it. Ronin’s previous relationship was in a triad, but it didn’t end well because Kincaid just up and left without any explanation.
Who should show up out of the blue but Kincaid, he felt the need to talk to Ronin and explain things, he sees that Ronin is happily married and feels his chance is lost. But Julia feels something between the men and she’s not tally against it, so she brings it up to her husband and see if it can go anywhere.
I have always loved the way Carrie Ann writes poly relationships, the emotions, the communication and the love between the characters is something that she does so well with the characters.
We have so much love to give and if loving two people is what makes you happy, then you do you!
This was definitely a quick read y’all and it starts with Julia and Ronin and shows how well these two work and mesh. They have always been open to adding another to there relationship but I don’t think either of them are prepared at first for who it is. When his ex shows up on there door step I could definitely see it but I didn’t know if it would work or not. As they all face issues that come up with will they run or fight for what they want?
