One of the best triads ive read (and i love all of Carrie Ann Ryan’s triad books). I’ll admit right now that I’ve started to drift away from triad stories but this one might have restored why i like reading them every now and again
Another amazing hit by Carrie Ann Ryan. While you don’t need to have read the rest of the Montgomery Ink stories to follow along, you are certainly going to want to. The Montgomery’s are family now and I look forward to reading all I can about them and their friends.
Ronin and Julia were a solid, strong couple. I loved how they were together just the two of them but I absolutely adored how they treated Kincaid bringing him in their third. Even though this is a short novella, it certainly packed a lot of punch. Excellent story!
This is a novella in the Montgomery Ink: Boulder. We met Julia (Ethan’s coworker) and Ronin ( Marcus’s coworker). They met and married (although supposedly not through the Montgomery’s). Their relationship is solid, but one night Kincaid, Ronin’s ex enters the picture. Luckily adding a third was discussed before Kincaid enters the picture. I enjoyed the progression of their relationship, but wished for more since it wasn’t full length. But still definitely worth the read!
This is the first story I’ve read in the Montgomery Ink: Boulder series by Carrie Anne Ryan and I definitely want to see more of these characters, and others that I met within this novella. From the start of this story I was completely hooked and I want another story with Julia, Ronin and Kincaid because this was not enough.
Captured in Ink starts off with married couple Julia and Ronin, and they are perfectly happy with their life together as a couple, but in the back of their minds they know they’d also be happy if they could find their perfect third person. But then one day Ronin’s ex-boyfriend, Kincaid, not knowing Ronin was married, shows up at their doorstep and Ronin feels like his life has been flipped upside down.
Kincaid and Ronin were once part of a triad relationship, with their ex-girlfriend Alexis. After Alexis cheats on them both, the entire relationship falls apart. Even the one between Kincaid and Ronin begins to crumble, ending with Kincaid leaving without a word and Ronin heartbroken. After the tragic loss of his sister Kincaid became an alcoholic, and now that he’s been sober for over three years he wants to see if there is anything left between him and Ronin. Now that Kincaid is back Ronin isn’t sure that he can trust Ronin not to leave again but Julia thinks that Kincaid could be the perfect third they were looking for… Can Ronin, Kincaid and Julia move on from their respective pasts to have the relationship they all deserve?
This was a great short read that had lots of feels. A married couple, Ronin & Julia, married for years and very happy, live in the Montgomery’s World (and what a fun world it is!). After a night with their Montgomery friends, they get a visitor at their door…Kincaid, Ronin’s ex, when he was in a triad. After the air is cleared and the past is put behind them for the most part, Julia & Ronin decide to see if Kincaid would be interested in being with them. What transpires is healing, and love and connections that seem like they were meant to be
Ronin, Julia, & Kincaid….the hottest trio by far!!!
Captured in Ink is the newest book that is too hot for your kindle by Carrie Ann Ryan. I loved the story line and was hooked from the moment I read page one.
There was a bit of resentment and heartache. Then love and trust flows through. It is a story that will make you smile and stomach flutter all at the same time. I loved this story. I love how it paints a beautiful picture of love and picking up the pieces. It is definitely worth putting this book as your next read!
Ronin and Julia both have a past that made them both work really hard to have what they do. They found each other and a love that gave them more than they could ask for. Open and honestly with one another, able and always willing to talk. Communication has been their key all along the way. The devotion they share allows Julia and Ronin to be themselves, discover their wants and needs and know genuine love and happiness. Ronin and Julia share a very unique relationship and are very open minded people with big hearts and a lot of love.
Circumstances beyond his control sent Kincaid into a downward spiral. Tragic events and losing his loves was more than he could handle. Darkness overtook when the hurt and pain became too much. It took quite a while for Kincaid to find his way back to himself. Although he’s not completely there he’s trying really hard. Kincaid showed up on his ex’s doorstep with an apology and a hope for more. Shock hit him on two fronts, one, his ex was married and two, they both welcomed him like family.
Captured in Ink is an emotionally deep and beautiful story. Ronin and Julia have an amazing relationship. They’re honest and bold, willing to talk to each other and not afraid to express their dreams, wishes or fantasies. Together they are amazing. Kincaid was a love lost that became a love returned. They approach their wants openly and honestly, knowing it could be a thing of wonder and beauty or we could go completely down the drain ruining a marriage and what could be a friendship. Once the nerves settle and they fall into being who they are, something amazing happens to these three people that have a dark past but found something more.
Wasn’t sure what to expect when I 1st started reading this book. I shouldn’t have worried or questioned anything, because Carrie does it again. This one another great story. Kincaid, Ronin, Julia it was meant to be. They compliment each other so well that you would think they were always a triad. Congrats Carrie this is another amazing book. Your readers like myself will love it.
This story for a novella had a lot of depth and emotion to it, I truly expect that from a novel but when you get that from a book that is just over a hundred pages you know you are reading one very talented author.
Ronin is friends with Marcus and Julia works with and is friends with Ethan so that makes them honorary Montgomery’s which I just love. But even being part of the big family there was just something missing from Ronin and Julia’s marriage, now don’t get me wrong these two are hopelessly in love with one another but they both knew they had more love to share. Well HELLO Kincaid! When Kincaid enters Ronin’s life again after abruptly leaving years earlier Ronin is both shocked and hurt, but I really couldn’t blame him for the way he felt only Julia saw something that neither of the men did……
You guys, I loved this story. You are going to love the tattooed ginger Kincaid, not to mention Ronin, and Julia who knew he was the perfect person to complete their little family.
If you have read this series this is a must read. If you are new to this series this is a great time to jump in because thanks to Carrie Ann Ryan and 1,001 Dark Nights we are gifted the perfect read for both lovers of the series and newbies.
Happy Reading!!!
Julia & Ronin are happy being in their hetero relationship despite both being in other relationships before.
When one of Ronin’s exes comes to see him out of the blue, All of them are in for a shock. Julia enjoys Kincaid and offers for the couple to date him. Ronin used to love Kincaid-but can he with all the hurt seeing him brings?
It was a good story from CAR but I feel like there are other throuple stories that are better.
Julia and Ronin are married and happy but when Kincaid comes back Robin must face his past. He was hurt when Kincaid left and isn’t sure if he can forgive but Julia sees the way Ronin and Kincaid are and she knows that the three of them can be so much more if given the chance.
Good god oh mighty. This story was quick yet very detailed and profound. Julia and Ronin and their ability to communicate is astounding. Their connection and to each other and openness to heal old wounds together. The story of Ronin and Kincaid was rough. The steam between the three of them damn. Relationships take work and this story showed that I spades. Love these extra stories that connect series and give more depth to the series as a whole.
Ronin and Julia are comfortable in their marriage, but have talked about adding more. Adding another. Kincaid and Ronin have a painful past, and when Kincaid shows up at Ronin’s door again all three must decide what they are willing to risk to try for something more.
Each of these three has issues to face as they maneuver adding Kincaid into the mix. Julia and Kincaid both have family challenges that they feel guilt and grief over. Ronin may not have a challenging family, but he does have the hurt that he has held on to since his previous relationship with Kincaid crashed and burned.
Carrie Ann Ryan does a fantastic job of maneuvering the details that are important to a triad relationship. This is not the first menage book I’ve read from her and each one takes into account the different factors that come into play when including more than 2 people in a relationship. This is not just a relationship between the triad, but also relationships between each duo in the threesome. I loved watching Julia and Kincaid feel each other out, even as Kincaid and Ronin rebuilt their relationship, and Julia and Ronin reinforced their connection.
This is a short story that packs a big punch in a small package. The steam heats up pretty quickly because Ronan and Kincaid do have the past that they do. But there is a constant concern between Julia and Ronin about how adding a third will affect their long-term commitment to each other and their desire to maintain a relationship with Kincaid as well. This is a great way to step foot into the Montgomery world, as it is a very prolific family (and so there are a lot of books involved). This story stands alone and alongside the series as none of the three are actual Montgomeries, so their story is completely separate from the family storylines.

No one does a novella like Carrie Ann Ryan. She packs them with intense characters and story lines. With this story, Captured in Ink, Carrie Ann Ryan takes us on unusual journey of 3 individuals with battered hearts by those they have loved. I found this to be a well written story of love & forgiveness as they form a triad and get their HEA. I loved the banter & interaction between the main characters, Ronin, Julia, & Kincaid. Looking forward to the next book Ms. Ryan has coming out.
Captured in Ink is the 4.5 book in the Montgomery Ink:Bolder series. This is Julia, Ronin, and Kincaid’s book. Julia and Ronin have been married a few years but felt something was missing, what happens when someone from Ronin’s past comes back to town?
I really enjoyed reading Julia, Ronan and Kincaid’s story. This is a story about forgiveness and opening yourself up to something that just feels right. Julia and Ronin are married and looking to add to their happy relationship. Ronin has had experience with a triad and they decide together to look for someone. Kincaid is so damaged and is looking for the love of his life, Ronin. When he finds him he realizes that he has moved on with his life. Seeing Kincaid again brings backs all the good memories for Ronin. He and Julia decide to see where it could go with Kincaid joining the relationship. I loved the feelings and emotions that develop between these characters. Such a great story!
Julia and Ronin didn’t know they were missing anything from their relationship til Kincaid shows up on their doorstep. Kincaid was once a major part of Ronin’s life. Now the 3 have to figure out what they want and how to deal with things from their pasts. I love this story!!!
Unique story on a creation of a triad/throuple – married couple adds one
Wonderful to see Kincaid add to what Julia and Ronin! Fantastic to see Ronin get over his hurt & see these three have their HEA!
Great read!
All I can think to say is LOVE…Carrie Ann can write an awesome love story, bring to life the doubts, the insecurities, the chemistry but most of all she brings you the love, no matter the couple or the thruple. My heart is so full after this no holds barred, got your back and heart anyway you need it, emotional explosion of love. Thank you Carrie Ann!!
Julia, Ronin, Kincaid wow what an explosively amazing match. I loved that Julia and Ronin were perfect but realized they could be even more perfect with Kincaid. This was a great read and I cannot wait for the next work in the series.
