She never wanted to be a wolf. That won’t keep her mate from claiming her.Taken captive, held prisoner, and turned against her will by the leader of a rogue pack, Shannon Livingston was just about to be sold at auction. Then an alpha wolf decided she belonged to him.The moment James Norris sets eyes on Shannon, bare and on display yet still fierce and proud, the former special-ops agent knows the … special-ops agent knows the beautiful spitfire is his mate. Disobedience quickly earns Shannon a sound spanking, and despite her fury at his bold dominance, her helpless arousal is undeniable as she is claimed hard and thoroughly with her well-punished bottom still burning.
But when another band of wolves attacks the auction before James has time to put his rescue plan into action, mistrust born of harsh experience leads Shannon to seize her chance to escape. When her mate tracks her down, will she remain defiant or surrender to her instincts at last?
Publisher’s Note: Captured and Claimed is a stand-alone novel which is the eighth entry in the Wayward Mates series. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book. Also note that Captured and Claimed shares its setting with Adaline Raine’s previously published books Marked by the Alpha and Rules of the Pack, and it was written only after receiving Adaline’s permission and support.

An absolutely amazing conclusion to this wonderful shifter series
Whilst I really wanted to make this book last, given that it is the final book of the Wayward Mates series, I just couldn’t resist devouring it in one sitting. The story captured me from the very start and I loved every single moment of it. Whilst the earlier books in the series could be read as stand alone, this very much built on the previous book in the series, not to mention it featured all the couples we have met in prior stories. To enjoy this book at it’s best I would recommend reading the series in order, or at the very least the last four books.
We finally get to meet both Shannon, Catherine’s missing sister, and her fated mate James. Theirs was a delightful story, with a hero who showed great respect for his mate, whilst still maintaining his alpha authority. James and Shannon were quite simply wonderful, I adored them both as individuals and as a couple and totally believed in their connection.
The story is jam-packed with action, adventure, mischief and mayhem, not to mention some incredibly steamy moments. Some reviewers seem to get hung up on the spankings and ‘male dominance’, interpreting it as a an abusive situation. Whilst these ladies might occasionally have their backsides tanned by their partners, they are never cowed and very much do what they want to. They accept the discipline side, and whilst they don’t exactly enjoy it at the time, they appreciate the clean slate it provides within their relationship.
Captured and Claimed might be the end of the Wayward Mates series, but the epilogue has given me hope that it won’t be the last we see of this world. There hasn’t been a single book in this series that I haven’t enjoyed. Every couple has played their part in building a world that has, quite simply, ‘captured and claimed’ my heart.
This is a great ending to the Wayward series. We get Shannon’s story and see her strength. We meet James who leads a double life and who doesn’t believe the “myth” about fated mates until he sees Shannon at the auction where he has plans to rescue the three women being sold. I love the fact that the girls get to hunt their quarry. Love Shannon and James. And the Ravenscar Run is great. And the epilogue promises something new.
Once again, this talented author has written an excellent shifter romance but sadly it is the last book is the series “Wayward Mates” & I will miss the high-spirited behavior from some of the characters in these books. There are some character crossovers from the previous books but this book is standalone & complete.
The characters are unique & well-developed with individual personalities which occasionally resulted in verbal confrontation and/or verbal conflict; at times they entwined fairly well with each other, and reacted with realistic emotional feelings to the situations they find themselves in. The story-line & plot is extremely well-thought out and written, it keep the reader’s attention.
There is: a defiant female lawyer was abducted then held as a prisoner & turned into a wolf shifter without her consent (Shannon Livingston) she is placed on auction & is promptly claimed by a former special ops agent (James Norris) but she is able to escape with the help of some uninvited visitors, twists & turns, suspense, adventure, action, danger, threats, enemies, abduction, manipulations, defiance, hatred, spankings, devious plans, determination, vengeance, emotional turmoil, challenges, deceit, verbal banter happiness, contentment, love, steamy scenes & a wonderful satisfying epilogue. I really would recommend this shifter romance to people who enjoy reading this genre, I sincerely doubt that you would be disappointed in this book.
Shea is held prisoner for one year. She makes her escape, but not before meeting James. James works very hard to gain her love and trust. Good book, well written.

:::There may be spoilers in this review so read with caution.:::
I liked Shannon because she is a survivor. Her character goes through the biggest change in this book which was needed to progress her story. I like that Shannon tries to push true her pain to gain some semblance of control in her life and that she is forges a relationship during a time where she’s struggle to get her feet planted firmly on the ground. I was glad to see the other characters from previous books show up in this book and glad to see the fun rivalry as the women teamed up and the guys did as well to get into the action of the story. The only character I didn’t like was James because I think he is just as self-centered as he was at the beginning of the story as he is at the end. His character is a static character. While he realizes he is Shannon’s mate, their first encounter is one I had trouble with because he first appears to be arrogant, self-centered and more interested in disciplining Shannon than recognizing that she was kidnapped and that she has trauma.
Delta James did it again, this is the last book in the series, I can’tell believe it. I hope she does a spin off as I love this shifter world of strong, independant women and the alpha men who love them. I want more.
Shea is Catherine’s sister and has been missing for a year. This is her story of what happened not only during captivity but her rescue and beyond.
James is only one of several people or groups trying to rescue the women kidnapped tortured and sold. See how he fits in with the rest.
I will set down soon and reread this series in order as it has joined my group of rereads, along with, The Protectors by Kennedy Sloane, The Anita Blake series by Laura K Hamilton, the Left Behind series, all of CJ Bishop, The Cat Shifters of Aaidar by Laney Kaye, Dragon Riders of Pern, and a few other.
Read this series you will again and again.

ONE DELICIOUS READ!!!
OMG! Wow! I’m still trying to put the fire out. Talk about one hot number! A whirlwind of circumstances and events plunge those swirling emotions bursting to life wonderfully. This is one non-stop, action packed, fast paced, pulse racing, heart pounding, page turning dynamo that’s brought together beautifully. Totally engaging, mesmerizing, enthralling wonder that captures your attention until the last word. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, unexpected surprises that make for one thrilling experience. When danger comes calling some hard choices have to be made, and made they were. All the drama, fear, uncertainty, danger and suspense increase while tension spirals. The characters are complex and believable with such depth and individuality it’s easy to relate. The scenes are so vividly descriptive you have no trouble picturing each scenario as they play off one another beautifully. Delta is definitely becoming a force to be reckoned with. She weaves a world around you so completely until everything else ceases to exist. Remarkable job Delta, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
