This was a slow paced story that has a lot of drama and suspense. Even though it was slower it still draws you in. It is extremely well written and the characters are stunningly developed. It’s descriptions are vivid and cause the scenes to easily be pictured. It does end in a cliffhanger but the ride getting there is so worth it. This is definitely a must read.
I loved the Savage Possessed trilogy, and we’re back in Twin Rivers with a new group on yet another daunting quest. I love that Stone has taken the best parts of the previous series – the building tension between characters, the misfit-feel of each person within our group, and the way they all learn to match their strengths (and desires!) as one – but still managed to make the story feel like a new adventure.
I loved seeing some of our previous friends, and am excited to see what trouble our fivesome gets into next.
This is book 1 of the Twin Rivers Captive series. I think this is a great series. The storyline flows well and has a great plot. I enjoy the characters and found them well developed. I would recommend.

Sometimes it really pays to slog through those 19 million freebie!! book promotions that periodically show up. I found September Stone’s Captive Witch (Twin Rivers Captive, Book 1) as a freebie in the “Stuff Your Kindle – Romance Free Reads” promo (to be fair, this was a great promo as I found a huge haul of books in it worth reading). I know this author as I’ve read many (possibly most or even maybe all) of her previously published works so it was a “no brainer” to grab this one. I’m soooo happy I did so as this was quite simply a perfect “reverse harem” urban fantasy adventure. By that I mean that not only did it hold up perfectly in the (yummy) sexy parts but even totally ignoring that aspect (though why you’d do so is beyond me), the urban fantasy adventure part was also perfectly told. I loved Bryn, the heroine of this tale. She’s a beautifully complex characters. Equally Gotta say that her guys, Taj (fire-affinity witch), Poe (panther-shifter), Silas (daemon) and Calder (telekinetic) are the perfect ingredients for this kind of tale and I’m totally looking forwarding to how things develop between them and Bryn. All in all a great book and perfect series start. Highly recommended.
Bryn has been locked up since she was a kid. She has been forced to make potions for the woman holding her. Bryn has been forced into solitary confinement for having a friendship with another person that was being held. He was shipped off as a part of her punishment. This has left her alone for years. Until a new guard befriends her. Taj is her saving light, like her old friend Calder was.
Taj breaks her out for the people he was working for. His partner is Calder. Bryn has deep feelings for both of them.
They are met by a bounty hunter out to bring in Bryn for murder charges for the potion she was forced to make and A demon that is bound to put a curse on her. The curse went wrong, now they must all work together to see if an elder mage will remove. While they are all together, she is experiencing feeling for more than just Calder and Taj. We will see how the rest of them come together. What doe the elder mage want for lifting the curse? Why is Bryn so special that her captor will do anything to get her back. What is the end game for the others.
This is great start to series, the two relationships are slow burn that build up, looking forward to more answers as to what is really going on with Bryn. Can’t wait to see her relationship develop with the other two guys. I will read other books in this series.
I received a free copy of this book, this is my honest review

We have mystery, suspense and more. Bryn is a earth witch being held captive by Mona to create potions. Calder was her first friend in captivity and she had grown to love. Then Mona sent him away. Tan is her second friend, bit still her jailer. She has feelings for him. Silas is daemon who is to mark her with death. Lillian is a vampire that wants to possess Bryn too for her powers. Poe is a bounty hunter who is hired to find her for the elders. Can Bryn ever be free? Why does she have feelings for so many people, even the ones that want to hurt her?

Captive Witch by September Stone is the first book in the Twin Rivers Captive series. This book had my attention as soon as the main character Bryn was introduced. Bryn is an earth witch who has been held captive since she was nine years old. This book is such a compelling read from start to finish. All the characters have unique traits and there are many plots going on at the same time throughout this book. I could not put it down. It is a wonderful paranormal adventure. I can definitely attest that anyone who enjoys magical fantasy will love this book as much as I do. Captive Witch is an adventure full of magical paranormal surprises.
Bryn is an interesting MC, she has basically been a captive since she was about 9 years old, forced to make potions. Bryn is kind of naive about the outside world, but has a core of strength. She finds herself linked with 4 guys and on the run. I really liked Calder, Silas, Poe, and Taj. I’m hooked and looking forward to book 2!
Being captive since nine years old Bryn does not let much stop her once she escapes. Bryn is a strong character and has a good developed background. Bryn has great chemistry with Taj and Calder. This is a very exciting that builds on the Twin Rivers world while cratering a whole new plot line.

*Spoilers?* Bryn’s been a captive since she was a child and she never let her captor corrupt her character. After her escape, during which a curse goes awry, Bryn and her entourage go in search of the one Being who can break it. Unless you’ve read the first Twin Rivers series, you’ll never guess who I mean. What will the price be this time? I’m already hoping the next book comes out soon. Can’t wait to see how the characters evolve this time.

I was a huge fan of the first series of Twin Rivers and was excited to see that Ms. Stone was going to continue on with another story in Twin Rivers. While this one doesn’t need to be read after the first series, there are guest appearances from the first series that pop-up and some by-lines that may make more sense if you do. That being said, this story is a little confusing starting out as you don’t know what situation Bryn is in. Almost the entire book is about freeing Bryn from captivity and her subsequent escape leading directly after. A series of events occur that brings her face-to-face with someone from her past, a Hunter, the person rescuing her, and a demon determined to spell her with a death curse that goes haywire when they all touch just as it’s being cast. Now they are all tired together and marked for death. There is only one person who could possible free them off this curse – a mage who will demand something in return, Elowen. As they set off, they start to see that they were all captives in one way or another. I’m interested to see where this story takes these slaves that were forced to do things for their Evil and corrupt Masters against their will.

I love reading about witches, mages or any supernatural beings, and this book has it all. So you follow Bryn who is a captive witch. Not her backstiry is pretty grim. As you read about her, you will begin to feel how she feels. She manages to find light in her darkness and stay strong. She has doubts about what to do, but who wouldn’t if they endures what she has. She is a slave of Mona Ward and is does things for her without knowing what she is doing. She is stronger oblivious as to what she does is used for until she is finally told. While captive she met Calder who she had intense feelings for until they got caught and he was sent away. She also meetsTaj, Silas and Poe. Taj is a guard that escorts her in the compaond. Poe is a bounty hunter and Silas is a daemon. They all have Bryn in common. There is some heat that arises because all these men are attracted to her. She is living it up because guess what, she has a curse thrust upon her and so know these five need to break it. It’s not easy, Bryn is being hunted cause of what she is. There are so many twist with this story, that I could not out it down. When I came to the end of the story, I was like what just happened. Now I have to wait. such a great read.
A Demon, Bounty Hunter, and 2 Prison Guards encompass Bryan, an Earth Affinity Witch, in order to help her after she escapes from prison. Mona, a siren, had imprisoned her to make potions for the black market after her mother sold her to Mona for a drug fix when she was a child. Now a young adult, she is attempting to adjust to the males around her. She seems to gain magic and energy from them. This is an interesting story with well developed characters ending in a cliffhanger. Great read!

A page turning thrill. An experiance that keeps you on your toes. Just when you think you can catch your breath, think again. Leaves your paranormal fantasies tingling, and you breathlessly craving book number two.
There are a few typos. Which is the only reasons that I didn’t give it 5 stars.

Bryn is a witch that has lived her whole life locked away with hardly any contact & used for magic. Until one day shes rescued which should be a happy event but ends up being a journey of self discovery, avoiding dying & finding love…..maybe. In the shape of four unlikely men – Calder, Taj, Silas & Poe. This book is definitely a fab fantasy RH book. Loved the characters especially Bryn. How she started out quiet & reserved then emerged into a stronger character altogether. A right good romp of a book & i loved it
