There’s more to Enchanted Penitentiary than meets the eye—that’s for sure.My goal to avenge my best friend’s death is practically the least of my problems now. Things are heating up in every sense, from the upheaval in the prisoners to my feelings for Gage—and for Prince Tarian.
But I can’t lose sight of who I am. I can’t let Enchanted Penitentiary break me. Even with everything—and everyone—at … with everything—and everyone—at stake.

Captive of Fae by Abbie Lyons is an awesome story that I have read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I have loved reading since the beginning and can not wait to finish the rest of the series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about Fae and paranormal prison romance.

I’m in love with this series!!
“Captive of Fae” picks up the storyline from “Prisoner of Fae”, with Em, Tarian, and Delilah still in solitary. Gage is trying to answers from Gia who seems to be missing. This tale is full of humor, action, intrigue, betrayal, drama, and a twist or two at the end that you won’t believe right at the cliffhanger ending. It will have you biting your nails and twisting in your seat, impatient for the next installment in this series!
Poor emerald. After the events of book one, the story heats up in this second book. There are mysteries and secrets everywhere and we get to experience the ups and downs of emeralds life in prison. The characters are so interesting and the story flows beautifully to the point that you finish this book before you’re ready to. I love the writing style and the fun that this book gives. Can’t wait for the next one!
Emerald is still in fae prison. She is trying to clear her name but finds out that she is a murderer. Only, something made her do it. She has made a few friends who all believe that she is innocent. One of them has been transported out of prison. Will he be the one to free Emerald.
This is a great series and I can not wait to read more.
I was given an advance reader copy for an honest review.
The story line was good, the character work was terrific and the book had a fairly smooth flow to it. This was a great addition to the series and I’m looking forward to what happens in the next book.

Emerald, the prince, Delilah, and Hammer are all in solitary. The prince figures out a way to get sent back into the general population…it only entailed a battle to the death. The new warden catches on though and has no choice but to relinquish them all back to their cells. Gage is doing investigations on his own time trying to find Gia and the necklace. The prince has finally come up with a plan to turn the tides in his favor. Emerald receives a HUGE surprise from the mail delivery. Most of all, Gage finds someone none of us expected to find…and cliffhanger! I received this as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
In this 2nd installment of the Enchanted Penitentiary, Emerald and her friends escape plan failed putting them in solitary confinement. As Em has more dreams of the night her friend April died Gage returns to the surface to find his ex, Gia. Everyone now knows that Cobalt is the new warden and just when things seem like they can’t get worst, friends are pitted against each other, Gage is missing, and Prince Tarian is about to be executed. But the best is yet to come and with this awesome ending you will definitely be back for more. This action-packed, magical, thrilling mystery suspense is full of twists and unexpected surprises you do not want to miss. Get this book you won’t regret it.
Now here’s a thing to love: the mystery is hotting up and the characters are cool as hell. Welcome to the Pen, where no one’s entirely innocent (well, maybe) and nothing’s quite what it should be.
We pick up with Emerald stuck in solitary, still wondering about those strange visions she’s been having. Are her memories of the night April died actually coming back to her? What did the b*tchy ex-BFF Gia have to do with it? And what’s a (probably) innocent girl gonna do when caught between a renegade handsome prince and a gorgeous guard with a history, either of whom might be able to shed some light on things?
I love that the focus here is more on the mysterious circumstances of Emerald’s imprisonment and her friendships rather than being a straight-out paranormal romance. OK, so Em does check out the view a lot (but what urban fantasy gal doesn’t have the hots for a pretty Fae or two?), but there’s no OTT swooning/panting going on here. I was so drawn in by the plot, and the pacing is perfect. The tone straddles both silly and serious in a way that takes it up a notch from your usual YAish sort of thing.
I absolutely loved getting to know the characters more: Em’s sass, Tarian’s sneaky snark, Gage being all puppy-dog, Hammer proving to be every bit the cinnamon roll you hoped for (even if he’s technically a criminal one), and Delilah… I mean, can we get a round of applause for how extra she is? Harley Quinn ain’t got a patch on our girl’s motor-mouth.
As with any good middle book, we’re left with questions, and that cliffhanger? Drama time! A great second instalment.
