I got this book as a freebie but definitely worth the price! I was glued to the book from beginning to the end. I think it was Ian who tipped off the paparazzi. I mean really who else! Either way I’m getting the next book to find out what happens.
I was completely CAPTIVATED by Harley and Kate in this book by Katherine King. I loved how independent, yet stubborn and down to earth Kate is in this story. Harley captivated me with his oozing sex appeal, confidence, determination and persistence; he’s a ROCK STAR!! The fact that Kate was able to bring Harley down a few notches kept me turning the page to find out what would happen next, and who would cave to their undeniable attraction. I loved that Harley knew exactly what he wanted and would do just about anything to prove to Kate how he felt; even his own career. Kate is inspiring because she is headstrong, independent and a successful stubborn woman who knows what she wants; until Harley came crashing into her life making her question everything. Kate is force to confront her life and relationship and make a decision that will end up hurting someone, including herself. I loved that Harley never gave up and was determined to win her heart, no matter how hard she fought him. I also loved the close relationship Harley has with his mum and Hilda. I love bad boys that are real down to earth, that still need their mums wisdom. Kate doesn’t realize that her life is about to change, no matter her choice. The attraction between Harley and Kate is undeniable and impossible to resist. However, Kate’s insecurities play a huge part in her decision and cost her the ultimate sacrifice. This story is full of passion, independence , persistence, friendship, sacrifice, romance and Love. The fact that Harley is a HOT ROCK star is hard enough to resist….just saying! The cliffy at the end left me begging for the next book. I can’t wait to read what happened between Kate and Harley. I loved their story!! If I could give this book more than a five star, I would. I received an ARC copy and this is my honest review…BRILLIANT!!!

Captivated by Katherine King was the first book in the Stile duet which focused on Harley Stile and Kate Knight. This was my first book by the author.
Harley was a rock star. He was gorgeous, confident, cocky, alpha and used to getting his way. He saw Kate at a concert and wanted her immediately. However, he quickly learned that Kate was not a fan, led a simple life, had a boyfriend and was not interested in his lifestyle. Captivated weaved the story with Harley’s chase of Kate and her struggling emotions. I liked Harley but I struggled with Kate. She was definitely a “the glass is half empty” girl and the constant negativity wore on me. Otherwise, it was interesting, told with a dual POV and fairly well written, other than some editing errors mixed in.
As it was a duet, the story was still developing and it ended with a cliff hanger to conclude the full story in book two. Although intriguing, I preferred more development with a stronger heroine. My anticipation for book two is that it will finish strong by expanding on those two focal points.
This book caused me to have a crazy boatload of emotions on rather I even liked the characters. I understand it’s a book but I have a problem with wishy washy people who can’t make a decision. That being said, I did enjoy the story and want to read the next one because. . . yup cliff hanger. OK let’s talk story well one really irritating this is no contractions which makes the characters feel robotic or stilted. If you can get past that then it’s a really good story that doesn’t have a bunch of sex, but loads of sexual tension which the author does really well. The fact that both of these folks are runners and have a boatload of insecurities to work out just makes the chase fun. Do I want to read more? Yes. I love the fact that these two took their time before jumping in the sac even though it’s all they thought about. I like that the author gave them trials and tribulations that keep them apart rather than wham bam everything is perfect.
I haven’t read this author before and I love trying out new ones and this is one I would like to read more of. I am not a huge fan of rocker stories but I like how this one is playing out and want to finish it.
A captivating book to read. Be aware that it is a cliff hanger and you will be required to read Stles After to find your ending. Even so, it was an entertaining read.
I like rockstar romance that is equal parts passion and angst, this is a read for me. Well written, storyline and plot gave a story of much desired romance of 2 people from different worlds with different coping, fears, and strengths. This relationship is greatly appreciated while feared by one and hopeful and willing to do all possible to make it work by the other. Too much explicit sex than story warranted. Can’t hurry love and the commitment to be able to stick. Interesting, engaging and angst. No HEA but there is a book 2.
Potential of a really good story, but there was far to many repetitive phrases and a weak/weepy female character. Loads of sex scenes that just didn’t quite cut it.
