Captivated: Stile After was the second book in Katherine King’s Stile duet. It was the continuation of Harley Stile and Kate Knight’s story.
Book two started exactly where the first book left off. The story was captivating and well written but just as in book one, I struggled with Kate. She was so cold and selfish, never letting Harley communicate, that I wanted her to grow a backbone or for Harley to find someone worthy of his love.
I struggle to write this review because the author did well and kudos to her for not writing a predictable storyline with what readers would want to see, but I didn’t like Kate and I didn’t like the direction of the storyline. My opinion is strictly personal preference. I desired more from Kate, more from Harley and more of the story where they were actually a couple. I should also state for my friends looking for safe, it wasn’t a safe read.
All in all, even if it wasn’t my favorite, it was well written, a story that will appeal to many and I look forward to seeing more from this author.
Harley was a dream hero. He saw Kate, pursued her, and ultimately fell in love with her. He gave Kate all he had, and wanted to give her more. I loved Harley, even though at times, I wondered why exactly was he chasing Kate so hard.Kate, being in a relationship, turns him down. Kate is at an event with her boy friend when she sees Harley again. Sparks fly and that is when the chase begins.
Read this a while ago but just started adding some quick reviews to Bookbub.
I’m going to call Katherine King ‘the Queen of romantic angst’ but I mean it in a good way. Her books are just heart pounding, sometimes heartwrenching and you are not quite sure how they will end. Part of the fun.
This is another memorable rockstar romance for me, who loves these kind of stories above most others. I’m going to leave it at that…read the description for the details but just make sure to read the 1st book in this series before this one. Stile-Captivated. Both are killers but amazing!
I have to admit Stiles stole my heart in the first book and in the second book Kate redeemed herself. Well she did after making me want to reach out and touch her a few times. Although by the end of the book I kinda understood her this author made me have to work really hard to see her side. Stiles bless his heart, stuck between a rock and a hard place the author made us feel every emotion he did. . . every single time. The love is palpable but what do you do when life just makes it so doggone hard.
This author treads a fine line with this book with Kate and it works. The emotional journey of this couple wasn’t easy to read but man was it good reading. I am happy to say this wasn’t your normal rock star romance and I am glad.
I Love this book. The characters are believable and it seem they come to life from the pages. You can easily feel the emotions these characters are feeling whether you want to root for the couple to get together and be frustrated when they are fighting the chemistry. I would definitely recommend this book…definitely a worthwhile read.
The passion and confusion is now filled with anger and desperateness. If only they would have finished their conversations before giving up, too much angst. Made me a bit nauseas and maybe they should give up. Maturing and better thinking only because there are other people putting in their 2 cents. Big decisions made but no communication. I wanted to see the ending so I persevered. The author made her lover’s duet work too much for this one. Then again, they did not doubt their own feelings for each other just the other person’s. A HEA but 1 book with less explicit sex and less angst I would have enjoyed more. I found out there is a book 3 and grimaced until I read the preview in back of this book and it is about 2 new people. I hope the author can get to the HEA with warranted sex scenes and less angst.
Potential of a really good story, but there was far to many repetitive phrases and a weak/weepy female character. Loads of sex scenes that just didn’t quite cut it.
