The fourth novel in the #1 New York Times and #1 USA Today bestselling Crossfire series.Gideon calls me his angel, but he’s the miracle in my life. My gorgeous, wounded warrior, so determined to slay my demons while refusing to face his own. The vows we’d exchanged should have bound us tighter than blood and flesh. Instead they opened old wounds, exposed pain and insecurities, and lured bitter … pain and insecurities, and lured bitter enemies out of the shadows. I felt him slipping from my grasp, my greatest fears becoming my reality, my love tested in ways I wasn’t sure I was strong enough to bear.
At the brightest time in our lives, the darkness of his past encroached and threatened everything we’d worked so hard for. We faced a terrible choice: the familiar safety of the lives we’d had before each other or the fight for a future that suddenly seemed an impossible and hopeless dream…

Love the series.
Sylvia Day is a good writer and this series is a great example of the steamy angsty kinky relationship theme. Just dive in.
Intense and Wonderful!
Sylvia Day ‘s Crossfire series is mind blowing my hot and erotic.
Her character’s are beyond sweet, kind and spitefully twisted!
Our these in the right settings, under the right conditions and add evil to the mix and you get the Crossfire series. A set of books that will keep you so engrossed you will forget to eat and they will invade your dreams in the best way! 😉
I have read the Crossfire series at least a dozen times and it never gets boring.
It truly gives hope for those hurt and damaged in our past, that there is someone our there just for us, despite what we endured to be here today. We are worthy and loveable!
One of my favorites !
I love the story! And hot romance novel
Love Gideon….
It pains me to give THE Gideon Cross 3-stars, but as much as I continue to love him as one of my all time favorites, nothing substantial happened in this book.
I will continue on with book 5 because I have a strong need to know how Ace and Eva end.
She is a other that tells a story well
The wait for this installment was pure torture. But unfortunately it was a major letdown. First off, Gideon was a douche right of the bat and it was uncalled for. Took me out of the story because he never acted that way throughout the first three books. Mostly I was disappointed in the book in general. IMO it did nothing to propel their story. It really should’ve been either a novella or squeezed into the next book. I’m still holding out hope that the final book lives up to Bared, Reflected and Entwined.
Gideon and Eva love saga continues. I have mixed feelings about this book I definitely love how alpha male and possessive Gideon that was how Eva met him so why would she want him to change. I know he has his issues but it wasn’t something that they couldn’t figure out together. Still I love this series I’m sad that it’s almost over can’t wait to see what going to happen next.
It’s getting there.. 4.5 Stars is all I can give for now. Why I can’t give 5 Stars? Because sometimes the story couldn’t hold my attention. Now and then I had to put the book down because my mind was everywhere but not with the story.
Other than that, I think with each book, this series gets better and better.
One thing I wanted to mention first. I was really taken aback when I started reading and noticed there is something weird. It started with Gideon’s Point of view, and I couldn’t wrap my head around that. I thought the whole book would be just his POV and I didn’t like that at all, but luckily it wasn’t. After getting into it – which took me at least a few chapters – I think it wasn’t that bad. I had a different picture of him and now I understand his actions a little better.
Every now and then Eva annoys me. But Gideon seems to really try and wants to open up. I couldn’t handle my boyfriend not talking to me about important stuff. If I always have to wonder what he’s up against alone and I stand in the dark and have no idea what’s going on. That would wreck me because I would be so worried about him. I am totally with Eva there. But she is often pushing Gideon even when she says she doesn’t want to push him and he should take the time he needs. I would get confused and a little mad at her myself.
I love that Gideon does everything within his power to protect his wife and I adore that he dedicated his song in the Karaoke-Bar to her.
I was overwhelmed with emotions when I read one of my favorite scenes.
And Eva took the day off after that and took care of Gideon. So sweet! He needs someone to protect him too. He never had someone like that since his father died. And even when he is convinced that he doesn’t need to be taken care of, everybody does. Sometimes we need to rest and lean on somebody we trust to fix something for us.
I can’t wait for the next book to come out. I have to know if there is ever a HEV for Eva and Gideon. I hope so much that they work everything out and that all those haters just go away and leave them be happy.
Sylvia Day’s Crossfire Series is brilliant
Love all her books!!
Eva and Gideon story continues and like all good HEAs after the uptick comes the great upheaval. We rejoin the pair after as the dust finally seems to settle after the steps Gideon took to permanently silence the threat of Nathan. It seemed that the two would, while still dealing with challenging past and wayward exes, would get to ride off into the sunset and enjoy some of the perks of married life. Life however has other plans for the Crosses. Gideon has been trying his hardest to shield Eva from all the gots that seem to just keep coming and while he thinks this is the right play, Eva is not having it. She feels like him keeping her in the dark and taking on all the burden is not only wrong it’s insulting and patronizing – she is a grown woman and is supposed to be his partner. Then when certain parties discover more about Gideon’s past due to Eva’s crusade to right the injustice of it, it causes Gideon to have to rethink how he processes his trauma and how to move forward. All these things threaten the carefully crafted walls Gideon has built over years of self preservation but now he has a partner and that means sharing the load. He can either take down the walls brick by brick or Eva will be left stranded outside trying fruitless to scale it.
Loved loved loved the crossfire series. A great romance.
This series is one of my favorites. Totally blows fifty shades out of the water. Gideon and Eva have an incredible relationship with ups and downs, happy and sad times but you can still feel the love they have for each other. Eva has tried to move on but Gideon draws her back. They are, to me, a perfect couple. They make you believe in love. I absolutely love this book and the whole series.
Enjoyable
Loved the enitire series!
