This was one of those books that you feel sad at the end because it ended. I was pulled into the story and never wanted to come back out. The book was filled with intense scenes that had me holding my breath. I loved the interactions between Jack and Vivian. There was great chemistry between them. The slow burn romance was perfectly paced, with adorable scenes that had me laughing and smiling like an idiot.
I loved Vivian’s character. She’s feisty and can handle her own. She has the mouth of a sailor and an unyielding spirit always up for adventure. Only she would be brazen enough to punch a titled lord. Which, by the way, she did a few times. And not the same lord either.
What a great story! This is definitely one of my favorite books that I have read this year.
Captain of my heart by Karla Kratovil was about a sea captain and a pirates daughter. Jack the sea captain is asked to take Vivian the pirates daughter to England for her to marry and also be safe from her dads enemy. It was a great beginning I loved the journey to England but when we get to London it was a bit slow for me but then it picked up about 70 percent in the book. I wasn’t able to put it down from that point on. In fact it was a 3:00 in the morning read. I got no sleep. . The characters were really solid and well developed. There was suspense, action, and romance. I ended up loving this book.
A charming new series to enjoy! 4.5 stars
It has been awhile since I’ve have read a pirate adventure and since Karla Kratovil is a new author for me, I didn’t know what to expect!!! What a nice surprise! ‘Captain of My Heart’ is the journey of Jack, and Vivian, two lovely characters. Ms. Kratovil’s imagery is vivid and descriptive! It’s a quick and fast-paced read filled with twists and turns.
